EBgames.com

EDIT: looks to still be working today (last page of checkout applied the discount, but I didn't hit the "purchase" button)

Too bad they don't guarantee completeness anymore. Also, what happened to CAG15? The only coupon that seems to work now is SAVER

I used this deal last time, and got one complete and one disk only. Both were in pretty horrible condition. BUYER BEWARE!

could you put used in the title somwhere? I thought this was B1/G1 with new games. that would have been awesome.

I ordered Ico & Jak 3, hopefully they're complete. But since I'm planning to play them, completeness isn't necessary.

EDIT: I decided to cancel since I don't want Ico that much and I spent too much money at Overstock yesterday.

I ordered 4 games using this very code a few weeks back. I ordered from the EB site, but the games came from GS wharehouse and of the 4, 3 were disc only and 2 of those didnt even work!

Not worth it unless you are only buying really cheap games that you just want to play and be done with.

EbOnline used to be great with those coupon codes. I got a couple good games for good prices after the saver code, CAG15, and my EBedge card. Gamestop always had "good" deals for B1G1Free, but the game's conditions are terrible. Add in the fact that the coupon codes do not work anymore, and it's just bad overall.

hummm...
took a gamble and ordered "Klonoa 2" and "Marvel vs Capcom 2".
if only there was a free shipping code, then there won't be any risk involves in this deal. hopefully, i'll get lucky but I'm expecting the worst just in case.
If worst comes to worst, can't you just take it to the store?
yea, but you lose $$$ on shipping.

Last time they had this deal my $19.99 game didn't work, but they let me replace it with any $19.99 item in the store (used or new). I got Advent Children.

That's a damn shame, I would have jumped all over that deal before the merger. EB's website sucks now.

(I hope someone at Gamestop reads all this)
every time they have this they pull all the DS and psp games.. BLEH nothing
There are three DS games. Mario, Bomberman and Splinter Cell. Having had my DS for just over a week, I only have Animal Crossing. I picked up Mario and Bomberman, so it worked out well.
Ah, you can't stack codes anymore then, right?
Right. One per order. I'm astonished they actually had a deal worth getting since the merger.

They've had this deal like once a month it seems. It's either in place of or complementing the similar buy one 29.99+, get one 29.99- free.

hummm...
i must of missed that deal (i have seen several of the buy a game at $19.99 and up, get a $19.99 or below game free)
If worst comes to worst, can't you just take it to the store?
yeah you can return it to the store... and if you want complete games you WILL be returning to the store, trust me.

both games are not that good.... mario is just a clone of the n64 version and bomberman is boring
EBGames.com is worthless now for used stuff. Sad, too.
Well, unless you buy the games to.... PLAY THE GAMES... but who in the world would do that! Games are meant to be collected... not played!

I just picked up Drill Dozer and Ico for $24.13 after shipping and taxes.
I could have spent much more elsewhere and been assured of the cases and instructions.... what was I thinking!

I understand if you guys don't think games are worth any less if they aren't complete, since you're buying them to play them.. but what about when you're not playing them? You don't like a case to store them in? And a nicely designed cover on the case, to easily identify it when put on a DVD rack? As attractive as the generic DVD cases with handwritten labels are...

What a crazy concept.

Just because someone actually has a preference on the condition of an item that they buy dosen't mean that they don't play games (or watch DVDs, or listen to CDs, or read books, etc.). In the past, you could have gotten the games complete, and much likely for less, from EBGames.com. I'm glad that you're happy to be getting worse copies of games for more money now.

Personally, I'd say if it really is `all about the games,' then just get a Gamefly membership and don't even bother buying anything!

Nevermind.

I used to love shopping at EB because I felt like I was sticking it to Gamestop. Now EB has gone over to the dark side.

I'm going to start my own game store and be 5000% more awesome than EBStopopoly.

Hey I like my games complete but I certainly play them, and I wont buy a game I dont intend to play.

Half the time when you get the disc only games they look like someone used them to wax their car.

I dont think Im elitist, or a 'collector' just because I want my games complete. They are current gen games, theres no excuse for them to be incomplete.

GS/EB should refuse tradeins on disc only titles. I could understand cart only games back when carts came in a flimsy cardboard box, but where the fuck did all the dvd cases and manuals go??? Who throws away the case to a dvd???

I'd love to know how much their online pre-owned sales have decreased now that we can't stack coupons (CAG15 + EDGE CARD + SAVER). I used to love buying pre-owned games off of EBGames.com, but not it's nowhere worth the gamble of getting an incomplete item.

Yet another example of the wrong people making the important decisions...

Strawman. No one is suggesting that a game is less playable without its box. What you're saying though, is that the box and manual have no value, which is patently false. If they had no value it would never come up, ever. They have no value to you, which is fine but hardly universal. The problem is that there are two options given at one price point. What if new and used games were the same price, and you never knew what you were going to get? Would you care then? I mean, a pristine shrinkwrapped game plays as well as a scuffed up but working disc in a cardboard sleeve but would you be willing to drop $50 and then find out what you were going to get? I didn't think so, even though you claim to only care about "the game". It's hard to make a value judgement when there's a random variable in the equation.

Strawman, huh? Bringing out the big guns. I'm pretty sure you don't get it.

First, let's review the comment that I was refering to.
EBGames.com is worthless now for used stuff. Sad, too.
I disagree. I bought Ico and Drill Dozer for a combined total of $24.13. This is a MUCH better price than I have been able to find anywhere else. In this, I am able to find value in EBGames.com. Yes, if I could have the cases and manuals for free, I would take them. But if I can cut my cost more than in half and take a chance that I won't get an Ico case, I'll take that chance. And yes, I too enjoyed EBGames more before the merge. However, for you to infer from my statement that I am saying "that the box and manual have no value" is actually.... well.... borderline retarded.

Here, I'll summarize it for you. I still find value in EBGames.com because sometimes it's so cheap that it's ok that they're not giving me cases and manuals. MY collection doesn't need to be perfect. I understand that this isn't the case for others, but to say EBGames is worthless because of this I find to be a huge overstatement. That's all. No need to get all excited and start using bold.

If that were all you said, I wouldn't have replied. Your opinion is that you still find value in it. Good for you. The poster you were replying to has the opposite opinion. It should have ended there, except that you saw fit to make smartass sarcastic comments about how "games are meant to be played" and people who disagree with you are just "collectors" who obviously don't care about the game. Why should anyone respect your opinion after you mock others for theirs? Be less of a jerk and you won't have to work about "excited" comments "using bold".

I don't think it's all just the box and manual. Gamestop wipes their ass with the games before they send them out the door. I don't see why they even take some of the copies of games they buy from people. I've bought 1 game used from them, and it did not even work. I did not pay much for it but still, I paid for a game not a paperweight. Therefore, like you have your opinion of the quality of the game you want I also have mine, I'd rather have mine work right.
Is this strictly online, or is it B&M as well?
Online only... it would be soooo sweet if it was b&m tho.

See, again, you're totally not understanding what I'm saying. Maybe ask someone to read it out loud for you.

And where in the world did you find the quote "games are meant to be played". I did however imply this. Without a doubt I implied it. But can you thus, put it in quotes as if I said it? No, no you can't. That is a gross misuse of quotes and again... retarded. Nevertheless, games ARE meant to be played. You didn't know that? They certainly CAN be collected. I even collect them. But they ARE meant to be played.

But seriously, my first post was just meant to poke fun at his comment and make a joke. I do stand by it, but c'mon, don't go calling people straw men. That's mean and they might find good reasons to call you retarded.

I know this will somehow anger you but please don't misquote me... quotes need to be used carefully.

I seriously haven't had any trouble, but I can see how that would turn people off. Completely understandable. I really have ordered alot from them and never had anything not work. I really do understand why some people don't like EB. I honestly never said that people can't have their own opinion of EB, I just made fun of one and argued with one, just like everyone is now doing to mine. It's no big deal.

I'm not trying to argue with you, you have your past experience that's backed up by good games. I don't hate EBgames, EBgames used to be great for me, because I got good games for cheap prices that were in good shape. Now since Gamestop took charge of EB, it means bad things in my eyes. I'll still order new stuff from the web site and buy used stuff I can look at from the B&M store, but I'm done buying used off the web site.

I would like to know what people do with the books for games and how the hell they lose the case. Usually when I put a game in I put the case right next to the TV. I can just see one thing that happens.

Chris gets new game and goes home>
Opens up Playstation 2 and puts new game in>
"The case is useless, do you want to discard it"?>
Chris throws case into fire pit>

I don't think EB's prices are that great to begin with so putting up with ugly disc only copies that (from CAG experiences) don't often work isn't worth the hassle.

It's got a lot to do with that they USED to guarantee cases and manuals, and USED to have such great coupons and deals. You can't just take that away without replacing it with something and not expect people to stop buying.

As noted in OP, I think this offer is still valid. I put two PO games in the cart and went to the last checkout page and the discount showed up. However, I didn't hit the "purchase" button, so it may not be working.
