Oh shoot, thanks for pointing that out. Hmm, should I cancel...medical bills or video games, medical bills or video games...tough decision.
No prob. $45 assuming you in the continental US, which I would think is a fair assumption. And definitely go for medical bills. It won't be in good enough condition to warrant that kind of investment, and if you are doing it to play the game, get a controller and just emulate it.

So has anyone tried returning these games and rebuying them instore to get the 50% off? Too bad the managers around here aren't going to be that nice to me, hehe.

Can't say I've had a problem with Firefox yet, started watching for a couple days this week and picked up two PS1 RPGs, so I guess I'm lucky :)

Nuts...My packages arrived from EBGames yesterday. Lunar 2 had the Box, but no instructions. Ogre Battle was disk only. This late in the game it is to be expected.

are old school games still 50% off? i thought the sale was over..

Speaking of Ogre Battle (N64 though), does EB ship all their N64 games shrinkwrapped in their little custom boxes? I'm used to the NES/SNES games that come in the baggies.
Did the GBC Zelda games go up? I thought they were around $6 or $7 a couple weeks ago.
oracle of ages has gone up. it used to be $7.99. seasons is still the same i believe.
Did the GBC Zelda games go up? I thought they were around $6 or $7 a couple weeks ago.
I've noticed lots of things sneaking up in price by $2-3, but last time I noticed these were this price.

All the onesI got were in those boxes.

aria of sorrow is available but don't anyone touch it with a 10 foot pole. unless you possibly want to get a bootleg. the bootleg that i returned to EB actually got put back in the glass case. seems like they don't care. :whistle2:(

Yes yes, that happened to me! Super puzzle figher GBA -- I TOLD them it had a chess game inside it, regardless of what the label said. Next week, saw it right there in the case. It had the same rubbed-off spot on the label where I tried to remove sticker residue, so I know it was the same copy.
Finally picked up a copy of this game, thanks for pointing it out to me. For less than $5 shipped, how could I say no? Cheaper than even the legendary GameCrazy sale.
no problem. classic game for a sweet price, no doubt.
Just picked one of these up at a B&M.
The fun-to-price ratio is quite high on this one.
 I've never had anything stolen from my cart before. Twenty seconds faster and it would have been mine.

yeah pretty ridiculous if you ask me. i've spotted at least two bootlegs in their case. i have half a mind to report them but a) i'm sure the cops won't care and b) the guys there have always been real cool to me and hooked me up with nice stuff in the past.
 I've never had anything stolen from my cart before. Twenty seconds faster and it would have been mine.
Looks like two of us had it stolen.

btw, has anyone tried the trick that vietgurl alluded to? returning online purchases to a B&M and then re-buying to take advantage of the 50% off sale?

What 50% off sale? Am I seriously missing out on a 50% off sale?!
What 50% off sale? Am I seriously missing out on a 50% off sale?!
as far as i know, it ended at the end of last month. but since vietgurl brought it up, i thought perhaps it was still active. it was 50% off all NES, Genesis, SNES, and Dreamcast games.

Eh, no biggy for me then. Don't have any of those systems anymore (sadly).

yeah too bad it didn't included PS1. i woulda been all over that.
you always seem to find this cool little obscure games for real cheap. i'm going to have to start paying closer attention to your posts. ;-)
No, I've wanted this game forever and I never see it anywhere. Do you think there's a good chance it will be back in another morning update?
Nuts...My packages arrived from EBGames yesterday. Lunar 2 had the Box, but no instructions. Ogre Battle was disk only. This late in the game it is to be expected.
when you say box do you mean the cardboard box or the plastic case

Save the link to your favorites . . . then at update every morning try to link to it. If it appears instock, then add it to your cart (enter your codes with a dummy game in advance) and see if you can get through check out faster than anyone else who is looking for it.

Now you have the essense of the morning update sickness . . .

This game could be easily overlooked, as it was released a while back and has a pretty generic cover.

Sky Odyssey (PS2) $5.99 b/c

It's actually a very enjoyable flight adventure game, where the main objectives are more than just "land here" and "kill the enemy." I suggest anyone who enjoys flight sims and the like give it a try.

Does everyone already have a copy of this or something? I mean, it was still in stock when I just checked now (4 copies), and I'm almost always here after the update has occured. Regardless, I went ahead and ordered one cause I'd like to give the DC version a try even though I don't have the system yet....I guess this will help give me encouragement to pick one up :)

today's update wasn't as frenzied as usual. i'm guessing people are gone for the holiday.

Since so many ps1 are disc only anyways...i suggest using gamestop's stock tracker online to check for a copy. I got mine (disc only in a sleeve) at a local-ish store rather than fighting for it online. GS sells the game for about $1.50 too, and losing the cag15 discount is pretty negligible at that price point.

But yes, I do think it comes in at least every couple weeks. The game stores aren't cutting down their ps1 collections yet, so lots of stock is still floating around.

I think it depends on how well you know the local EB employees. Once upon a time I had a few contacts in some EBs who would have been nice enough to do that as a favor since they wouldn't get the game themselves. However, at least with my local ones, I think all but two would tell me "no, we can't do that" either outright or after they take my game and give me credit and the other two would involve the person behind the counter immediately buying it themselves.

Still, your mileage may vary. I do miss the days where the husband/wife team were the owners of that EB in Broadway Mall in Hicksville. They were insanely nice, would grab any game you wanted if it came in and then give you a call without you even asking twice, would find any way they could to give you a deal, and would toss out free packs of inexpensive Magic cards if shopped there often enough. I really hated seeing them move on, that was one of the best EBs I've ever frequented.

I agree, an excellent and over-looked title.

While I also thought that it had ended, yesterday I found out that the sale is still on. An EB near me was sent all the SNES/NES/GEN/DC games from the entire district. I ended up buying 25 SNES and 1 NES game for about $44. This might be the case for other areas as well, with a single store being given all classic games.

excellent tip, thank you. and congrats on the score.
I was waiting for my order to come in until i realized it was a federal holiday. doh!
That's alright, I did the same thing. I couldn't figure out why my DVDs weren't here from best buy.

Well, that removes any question of going to a couple EBs this weekend. I can't remember what games they were, but a couple items I was looking at in the update showed available in some not-so-local (but driving distance) stores that I will be hitting up after work tomorrow.

I was lucky. My friend who works at a local EB Games made sure his store was the store where all the NES and SNES stuff got dumped off.

We scored a Secret of Mana for $20 cart only...also got two boxed SNES games (Mickey's Ulimate Challenge and Super Punch Out).
