According to a response below this is a error on their site and not actually out yet so dont purchase it yet till we figure out whats going on with it because its still listed on their site as purchaseable.

Didnt think this would ever come out for the pc. Least now my neighbor can stop asking me everyday when its coming out, all he plays are battlefield games and his limited knowledge of computers and games makes me his primary target for everything.

After all this time of being on consoles and them never really talking about it I thought for sure it was canned for the pc.

Im holding out for bf3 though myself, I have bad company 2 to tide me over till then. Course soon as neighbor gets back from his errands Ill be playing 1943 on his pc for a bit to check it out atleast so if I like it enough I may get it.

FYI, their website isnt actually selling it. They came out on Twitter and said it was a mistake.

I doubt the game will ever actually come out on PC.
 
Odd that they just silently release it for PC but at least we have it. Also holding out for BF3 and DNF before that.
 
So, I used the $5 off code I got from Wendy's and bought this for $10. My Paypal was charged, but I've not received an email with my key and there is no key on my order page, like there is supposed to be. My order status page also shows that I have no orders on record. Also, in the EA download manager, the game doesn't show up for download.

The game's not released yet. I just had to deal with their moronic customer support for 10 minutes about this. The guy says it's a site bug. I'm in the process of getting my refund.

Really? So did they say its coming out soon and the page just updated early on accident or is it not coming out at all anytime soon?

This fucking game is never coming out on PC. fuck DICE and EA for continuing this ridiculous charade for over 14 months, now. The worst part is that they've been taking preorders for the PC version this entire time. It doesn't take 14 months to port a game like this. It obviously just isn't happening.

To be fair, full-blown press releases aren't usually put out about store glitches, period. I would say Twitter is appropriate in the case of a relatively small incident like this.
 
Wish I could transfer my PS3 license for this game to the PC when it does actually come out... it was pretty fun for a while, but I don't think I'd want to buy a whole other copy just to play it again on the PC.

EA simply doesn't care. Just look at their official product page for the game: it still lists the PC version as "Ships 07/09" (as in, "Ships July 2009"). That's how little they care about the fucking PC version. No-one has even taken the tiny amount of trouble to adjust the advertised launch date for the PC version in 14 months. I think they're just eager to forget they ever even announced a PC version (and it looks like they're starting to feel the same way about BFBC2, as well, since we still don't have Onslaught), but not quite so eager to actually announce that it's canceled, and have to refund everyone's preorders.

You are probably right. And if they didn’t make the game I wouldn’t be surprised. But I just didn’t know if there was any new news about the game. But not going to hold my breath.
 
So I saw the store listing for this when it showed up last week, saw this thread and thought I'd ask anyone who had gotten it whether DICE actually made the PC "enhancements" they talked about way back when.

Then I read the thread and lol.
