Has anyone here jumped through all the hoops to get a "free Xbox" , "free PSP", etc? After reading the EGM article I am thinking about tryng it but wanted to get any advice from fellow CAG that have done it. Thanks in advance.

You will make everyone around you angry by peddling referrals on websites. I suggest nonchalantly putting it in your sig...probably pay people a little bit for referrals.

ya you can do it but you'll be getting spam e-mail and normal mail and phone calls and all other sorts of crap up the ass.

Did either of you do it and actually get a free system? Yeah I wouldn't be posting links and crap like that. Kinda like the way EGM said they did it avoiding some of the most annoying things.

Umm No. I did like 3 or 4 of these sites a couple of months ago. They are VERY time consuming and addicting, but they work. Not all of them though...You need to use a reliable site. I did it back when there were sites that you didn't need a cc to do. I'm only 15, but doing these sites, I made like $600 or more in paypal. I stopped though because of all the bs sites that effed you over.

I did the free iPod one and it worked for me. Took a couple months (and some bribes) to get all the sign-ups but it worked in the end and I got my 20gb iPod.

I can't imagine the free Xbox would be any different. Just make sure you sign up thru a reliable company, like Gratis.

Same here I just got my free ipod. The hard part is getting referrals because none of my friends actually believed it would work. What I ended up doing is bribing people. Like right now I have a need for referrals for a Nintendo Ds in my signature. I am offering people $10 paypal plus their choice of any of my guides in my tradelist.
Man, with all the trouble and time it would seem easier to just work to get one.:whistle2:k
Pretty much.
I mean, after taxes, any of those little toys are likely less than a day's work for a fair number of CAGS.
AnyFreeGift.com works and requires no referrals.

All you do is sign up for 2 offers by yourself.
They ran out of Free xboxs so they gave me a check for $150!!
Same thing happened to me with anyfreegift.com: I signed up in April 2004 and completed 2 offers, sent in my "certificates"...and didn't hear from them again. In October I gave up, went out and bought my own Xbox.

In December 2004 money was extremely tight. I was thinking of selling my Xbox to get some quick cash, then the mailman delivered a letter from anyfreegift.com: they had run out of Xboxes and sent me a check for $150 instead, just when I really needed it.

I'm still working on gettin two last refferals. I signed up in feburary when they had the phone offer that didn't need a CC, but now I think I'm gonna wait til I get my CC and then have me and my friend do the last 2 offers.

Yeah, those free sites actually do work, but they require some time on your part to get anything out of them. They can be addicting, but it is easier if you have friends who are willing to help you out and get a few referrals. If you sit at your computer for hours checking them, then it would be easier to just work and buy what you want. But if you just use some type of advertising and let that find referrals for you, then it pretty much is hassle free. Conga lines are another pretty good way to get referrals and helps everyone involved to get more. I would recommend checking out the referral link thread at the top of this forum for advice about these types of sites.
