I just got my universal adapter and it makes the ps2 controller work ok so far on the pc but SUCKS as a Gamecube controller. The lag between button presses makes gameplay unplayable. Amongst other games, I popped in Mario Sunshine and almost everytime I pressed the jump button there would be a quarter second delay until the jump actually happened. The rest of the buttons responded similarly. As far as the analog control goes, it worked half decently in Monkey Ball but not good enough to justify it as an actual controller replacement.

I haven't gotten too crazy with the pc testing so I hope that it continues to be responsive as I try out more games.
Thats not what I was hoping to hear. I hope it works ok with the XBOX/PC for DDR.

ouch, i strictly ordered it so that i could use my fighting stick and ddr pad with my xbox games. i hope i don't have the same problems as basketcase :(
Thanks for the link cheapy. The reload pedal just came today. I haven't tried it yet since I don't have time crisis but I will be buying the game soon. Anyway, I can say that the site is great and shipping was extremely fast.
I want to quote this almost word for word :p Got the pedal 2 days ago, but I don't yet have a game to test it on. But shipping was quite fast, and the pedal seems pretty sturdy. Can't wait to try it out!

PLEASE try it out more extensively with the PC. I'm considering this, but now I'm a bit unsure.

Also, if you have an Xbox, could you try that too?

got the pedal, its pretty sturdy but its kinda tight, I also suck with it cause I've gotten use to using the Guncon :p

I tried it out last night on the XBOX with Cobalt Flux dance pads. NOTHING WORKED on either CF pad or converter I purchaced.

I am planning on trying with the PC and the CF when I get time along with on the XBOX with a normal PS2 Dualshock controller and with a cheapo dance pad. I will put up some results as soon as I have them.

EDIT : Ok I took some time tonight to do some more testing. They do not seem to work with my CF pads at ALL on PC or XBOX. I can only assume GC is the same.

I pluged in one of my cheapo, older, geeks.com pads. They worked fine on the PC as soon as I figured out I needed to turn on dancepad in the driver. I do not have any songs on the PC I know so I cannot tell you much more than it seemed to be working. (I have not yet tested it on the XBOX with the old pad. I hate that pad now that I am up in the 8-9 foot songs as it moves around too much but I will try again in a bit.)

I have to play around with the normal PS2 controller some more and see how it works on the 3 systems. Hopefully later tonite after supper :).

Really what I'm interested in is the Red Octance stick and this converter. I know the stick is sub-par, but is a steal at $20. I want the converter mainly to use with the stick and Xbox fighting games. I don't need to play Xbox games with a Dual Shock. I guess that testing it with a Dual Shock would be a close enough test though. If it lags at all, I'm no longer interested in the converter. We can't have lag in a fighting game, now can we? :)

My roomate and I got our pedals and arcade sticks yesterday. Pedals look great, I'm just waiting for my Guncon and games to come through the mail.

Unfortunately, my arcade stick has connection problems with the ps2, and will act as if disconnected when plugged in most of the time. We took it apart and couldn't find out what was wrong. I sent in a form to red octane for an exchange yesterday.

However, the time that my arcade stick did work was awesome. We played Capcom vs. SNK and played like total newbies because we've never extensively played with arcade sticks. Fun times. Can't wait to get a working stick.

Thanks for the sale. This is such a good deal.

yea, it requires more effort than I thought to push the pedal down. Still an awesome pedal.

Ok, after trying the ps2 controller universal adapter on the pc it seems to be ok but my logitech wireless controller just doesn't work with it well.

Unfortunately I don't have an xbox to try it out on so I can't let you know.

Current conclusion:
GC - wireless gives pretty bad lag, but wired controller works ok.
PC - same as above.

Overall I was hoping for more responsive controls so I can't give it my full recommendation but it works decently.

Hey, so yeah I've been thinking about getting the Max Shooter Keyboard and Mouse Adaptor for Xbox, it looks pretty badass and since my computer ain't the greatest, it'd be a cool alternative. Has anyone ordered this? Oh and do you think you'd be able to play Halo 2 with this on Xbox Live? I know it says it's 'Built-in expansion slot for compatible peripherals including the Xbox Live adapter,' but I don't know if they would ban it online or not. I'll order it tomorrow.

I did break down and get two converters and a joystick. The joystick to me is just fine. No need to mod it and whatnot. The converters work great for PC and GC. I have a Logitech Wireless something-or-other and it doesn't work on the GC. Works fine on the PC, but unplayable on the GC. I also tested to PC and GC with a normal Dual Shock 2, the RedOctance Stick, and my Tekken 5 stick. No issues whatsoever. In fact, I think this adapater lags less than my old Super Dual Box.

Which stick would you say is better...the Red Octane, or the Tekken 5 stick? I got rid of my Tekken 5 stick because it was too loose for my tastes, and I wasn't fond of the ball stick. The main complaints I've heard about the Red Octane stick is that it hurts your wrists because the edges are sharp, and that the joystick is too far away from the buttons.

Hm, but for $20.00, I can't go wrong...

Nope, to the XBox, it's just a regular controller.

Works great with Halo 2.

My friends swear the RO stick is better, but I personally like the T5 stick. My friends and I never had problems with our wrists being sliced open, although it is noticeably sharp along the glass edges. It's like an amateur sanding job or something. Terribly, terribly cut edges, but they haven't affected us in anyway. It just looks cheap. Oh wait, it was cheap.

Caved in and ordered 2 metal pedals and since shipping came to 10 bucks, I opted for the addition of the joystick which worked out to 10 bucks due to free shipping. All in all, 50 bucks shipped for 2 pedals and one joystick, not bad... Thanks CheapD and RedOctane!
