So, we have all these awesome games coming out for all consoles for the rest of the year. MGS4, Halo, DMC4, Mass Effect, Smash Bros, Mario Galaxy, etc etc

So what are you playing now to hold you over until then?

I've been playing Rogue Galaxy. Good fun, as many of you already know.

Clever. I've also been playing Rogue Galaxy. I haven't played today... still... which is disappointing. And yes, people, it's worth buying at retail price.

Halo 3 and Mario Galaxy are tops on my list.

Is there anyone else here that really doesn't liek RPGs? I feel like such a loner. ;)

Well, I don't like a lot of RPGs... namely, Atelier Iris, .hack, Etrian Odyssey... y'know, the really hardcore RPGs. Too far for me.

I'm not big into RPG's, but Rogue Galaxy is pretty awesome. Lots of action. They probably could have gotten away with making it just an action game...maybe.

I can't wait for Tomb Raider though...especially for $20.

Looking at the ads though, it seems that just the PS2 version is $20, which gets me exactly nowhere. Unless there's an alternate tactic. Either that, or I'll have to wait for the Fry's ad to have the game in there.

I usually just play strategy rpgs or handheld rpgs since there usually shorter to beat. Can't wait for Fire Emblem Wii this fall.

You do know there is no "next gen" option this time on the PC version, right?

So you might as well just get the PS2 version, $15 after GGC works for me... there really won't be a huge difference between PS2 and PC besides screen resolution.

Believe me, there was a huge difference. Have you gotten a chance to download the demo for Anniversary? I can't even imagine how it'd look on your rig.
I didn't even know Tomb Raider still had fans.
I only started caring for it after Legend. Since Anniversary will play a lot like Legend then I'll be getting it.
I haven't played a Tomb Raider game since the Sega Saturn version.
Same. That was enough for me.

Nah, with no next gen option, and the PS2 version being half price the day it comes out, I'll just get it for PS2. If they were both the same price, it would be a no brainer.

Tomb Raider 2 was all it took to make me hate the series. Roufuss convinced me to give TR Legend a try though and yeah... glad he did. Completely different game. Definitely one of the best action games of last year.

Hmm, interesting.
I'll take a look at it.

The only Tomb Raider I played was the very first one on PSX.
Might bring back some memories.

off topic since its a thread about tomb raider and not what you are playing anymore...

im playing right now Marvel UA(can only take this game in bits),Magna Carta,, and some old SNES stuff....brought it out from the grave.

RE4 Wii, just picked it up in Japan today.
I don't know what it is about RE4, I played it twice thru on the cube but still it drives me to put it on every once in a while. It is without a doubt the most engrossing and fun 1 player game I have played in the last maybe, 2 years. Just a perfect cocktail of storytelling, action gameplay, atmosphere, blowing heads off joy...

I'm looking forward to DQ Swords and then of course Metroid Corruption cuz Wii be needing some online love, seriously.

I finished Indigo Prophecy tonight.

All I've got to say is WTF.

How can 7 good hours get ruined by the last terrible 45 min?

Yuck.

I just wrapped up Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix (wanted a refresher before I tackle KH2: Final Mix +) and started Dawn of Mana last night.

Its pretty disappointing, but I LOVE the Mana series so I'm going to plow through it. I also have Odin Sphere waiting to be played!

I'm psyched about plenty of games this year, but none more than Smash Bros Brawl. I cannot wait! And I love coming home from work and checking the new updates right when I get home. :D

Looks like I'll be taking a break from that to play Godfather today. If UPS decides to deliver my component cables and my TV arrives as expected.

BTW, you're not as clever as you think you are. Wasn't that hard to find it.

If you stop acting like this thread (or any subsequent thread) needs to be some call for an insurrection against the management, then it'll stay. If you keep the thread on its "appointed" purpose for a general gaming discussion, then it'll stay. Turn it into an OTT-like thread, then it'll go.

right now I am playing Forza 2 the most, and trying to finish God of War II up. Those are my two main focuses. Once I'm done with God of War II i'll probably move on to Super Paper Mario (wii), and also Resident Evil 4 Wii when it comes out. Tomb Raider Anniversary has me interested especially for $19.99 maybe I will pick that up and make my gaming backlog even bigger.

Here's what I have been playing
 1. Halo 3 Beta
 2. Warhawk Beta
 3. Forza Motorsport 2
 4. Shadowrun
Once those betas end, Forza and Shadowrun should keep me amused until Ninja Gaiden in July, and Metroid Prime 3 August.

Yeah alright, I'll tone it down.

On topic: I got to the new planet in Rogue Galaxy today. And by got to, I mean, the ship landed there and and I haven't left it. That was a very long cinematic that took place.

This fall is going to kill me. I'll be getting Metroid Prime 3, Mass Effect, Guitar Hero III, GTA4, probably Halo 3 and Mario Galaxy and I'm sure I'm leaving something out (is Zelda coming for DS?).

Right now I'm playing Crackdown (loving it), Guitar Hero II (still loving it) and Super Paper Mario (meh, kind of boring).

Bah, just checked the Fry's ad and there was nothing in there worth price matching... so it looks like I'll end up getting Odin Sphere and Super Paper Mario today and paying the normal price for them.... it's not as though the prices on these (especially SPM) are dropping anytime soon.

Man, I forgot what it's like to be behind the curve on games for a system. I've picked up 7 games for the PSP in a week and kinda don't even know where to start. Probably gonna finish up LocoRoco and then resume Daxter play after that.

Today I should get my package that has Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, Battle for Middle Earth 2: Rise of the Witch King, Heroes V: Hammers of Fate, and the Fallout Collection - think I paid $60 shipped for all of them, and they were "new but opened", meaning they were opened for whatever reason but never used.

Soon I'll be getting my Rainbow Six Vegas for PC that I won off Ebay for $18 shipped

And just last night, I bought a slightly used Razer Copperhead (red, woot!) off a guy for $25 shipped - more than half off the MSRP on that thing.

Lots of awesome gaming ahead.

Soon I'm going to get that Baldur's Gate 4 in 1 pack, and sell my old versions and profit.

Right now I'm very (VERY) slowly working my way through some of my PS2 backlog, one game at a time. Like it shows in my sig, currently I'm playing Sly 3. For some reason I'm not enjoying it nearly as much as I did the first 2 Sly games. Okami and RE 4 are most likely the next two I'll get to.

Still haven't broken down and bought a 360 yet, but Mass Effect will make it very difficult for me to hold out any longer, and GTA IV will make it impossible. Those are the two big ones on my personal radar.

Ah, finally got around to buying Dark Crusade? Good job -- it's obviously an excellent game as the previous games in the series were.

Speaking of mice though, I really want to replace my keyboard, mouse, and mousepad. They're all pretty worn by this point and I've got an idea for what I want to get as replacements.

Yea, Dark Crusade was only something like $13 off of Ebay, so it's worth it. I drove to some Target's trying to find it, since it was supposed to be clearance, and when I did find it, it was still $30. Lame. So I snatched it off Ebay, like I do most of my PC games, because they end up being 50% off or more.

Yea, my keyboard + mice are worn as hell, my mouse is an Intellimouse 3.0 so it's pretty damn old, almost 5 years old at this point and I have to turn the receiver upside down to even get it to recognize it, so I decided to go for something better. Couldn't pass up a $60 mouse that was barely used for $25 - it has no box or driver CD, but the box is garbage and the driver CD is outdated anyways.

I can live with my keyboard, it's a Saitek Eclipse and the backlight is starting to bleed onto the keys from all the use  When I get some extra cash after I move, I'll get a new one.

Now Playing:
Puzzle Quest :psp:
Oblivion :360:
Lost Planet :360:
Trauma Center :wii:
The Red Star :ps2:

Looking forward to:
Fire Emblem :wii:
Metroid Prime Corruption :wii:
Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations :ds:

No new RPGs for me until I finish my backlog of PSX and PS2 RPGs. Sorry, Mass Effect. At least you'll be seeing a price drop before I buy you.

Has Nintendo announced Fire Emblem for the US yet? I know it'll come here eventually, but if we've had an announcement, that at least solidifies things a bit.
Has Nintendo announced Fire Emblem for the US yet? I know it'll come here eventually, but if we've had an announcement, that at least solidifies things a bit.
Sadly, no. I'm holding out hope for a Q4 release (based on the delay between PoR's Japanese and US release dates), but it's getting kinda crowded for first-party games there with Mario and SSBB.

I am NOT going out this weekend so I can finally catch on my games.
First up, finish Twilight Princess damnit!

Kinda, but we're having a drought until those first party games are out, so it would be nice to get more than just those two this fall.

That was my intention yesterday, but I ended up not even playing Rogue Galaxy 'cause I was too lazy to set up my receiver again. Well, I did play like 45 minutes at like 12:30 AM.

I'd love an August release, since the crowd buying FE isn't exactly competing with Metroid Prime, but I'm not holding my breath.
