F-Zero, Burnout 2, or Need for Speed 2 Hot Pursuit? Which should I buy?

With the deal right now at Circuit City on F-Zero, I've decided to get some kind of racer for my Gamecube. I'm not a heavy-duty race fan, but do think I would like to have a racer to round out the types of games I have. The thing is I am torn on which one to get...I can get F-Zero, Burnout 2, and Need for Speed 2 Hot Pursuit all for about the same price, so price won't be the factor. Which is the most fun to just pick up and play? Part of me says F-Zero for the graphics, but part of me thinks the other two seem to have more gameplay options with the pursuit and crash modes (oh, and I don't have anyone to play with--so multiplayer doesn't matter to me). I really only need one though, since my focus will still be on Zelda and Rogue Squadron.

Any and all advice is appreciated!

NFS 2 is great on ps2 but i never played it on gamecube and i heard that it was a lot worse due to it being developed by a different company. Burnout 2 is great if you love a great adrenaline rush (like i do) and are into huge crashes. Never played F-zero though. SO in this case i would say burnout 2.

If you a HARDCORE racing fan then F-Zero is the way to go. Its hella hard, and hella fast and you will love every minute of it

F-zero seems to be the choice for the week at 15 bucks. Burnout 1 is also 10 bucks for the cube at Best Buy, the first is great and the second is supposed to be even better. I will pick up NFS: Hot Pursuit and Burnout 2 when I see them for ~10 bucks.

F-Zero is fun but you have to invest a lot of time into it. It's been one of th most rewarding games for me though. If you like unlocking stuff this is the game for you. Burnout 2 is more pick up and play but definitely also excellent. Of the two, F-Zero has the better one player game but be prepared to get good. It is very difficult with its blink and you fly off the track and explode gameplay. Both are very different styles of racing games.

F-Zero if you don't mind a challenge. I have been playing F-Zero games since the early 90's on SNES and I found GX to be very difficult.
What's the difference between the PS2 version of NFS2 HP to the GC and Xbox versions?
I own the GC version and from hearing the game differences, i decided to rent the PS2 version. There are differences, the big one being the camera. on the ps2 version u hit a button and it will stop give you a 360 view of your car and the vehicles around it and resume with the race. The other difference is the feeling of motion. In the ps2 you feel like you are really flying and going at the speed. In the GC version when ur peaked out it feels like a sunday drive.
Other than other cosmetic things such as the start screen and such there isnt anything else. The sense of speed realy takes away from the action feel.Oh yea to a certain degree there is some slowdown on the Gc and probaly the xbox version. The ps2 runs pretty smooth.NOT Alot.

I ordered the fzero, hopefully it a tad better.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 is my favorite out of the three. Burnout 2 is a very close second. F-Zero GX was too difficult for my taste.

get burnout 2...very good pick-up-and-play enabled...u can get it for 15 if u use ggc @ best buy i think...very fun and exciting...that is my opinion when i rented it

F-Zero: If you're into a good challenge and want straight up racing. (after two months I beat all of GP mode and most of Story Mode)
Burnout 2: if you want to cause wrecks (I usually unlock a car or two every time I play it at my Sister's place)
NFS:HP2: if you want a good all around racer. (I beat it in 6 days after christmas)

IMO, NFS: HP2 for PS2 is the best racing game ever developed. Awesome speed, uniquely realistic graphics, and all-around fantastic gameplay. Unfortunately, the GC version doesn't have any of those things. So, if you're restricted to only GC, I would recommend F-Zero if you just like to race at very high speeds, or Burnout 2 if you enjoy crashing into objects and vehicles. :?
f zero is prob the better racer for the cube. but too bad most CCs are sold out.. at least in my area (so. Cal)
I PM'ed mine at Best Buy in So. Cal although I didn't even check the CC's around to see if they had any. Was hoping for the price match +10% difference since when I went on Sunday BB still had it at $49.99. I didn't get the %10, but then again I didn't question it, didn't feel like arguing.

My money is on either NFS 2 and Burnout 2.

NFS2-A game that you can start crap with cops, run from the cops, and it can go either way when it comes to them getting you or you getting away. Fun multiplayer too.

Burnout 2-Fun racer, but what i play the most is on it is where you try to cause the biggest wreck possible.

I just picked up F-Zero GX today at my local Circuit City. They still have like around half dozen copies of it. I also picked up Metriod Prime for $15. But I got the last copy of that game. The store is in southern Houston area.

f-zero gx stupid hard. stupid goood.
burnout 2. easy, lots of fun.
prefer NFS:underground over HP2. music sucks on underground though.

I think Burnout 2 is a really fun game. Don't get NFS HS2, this game animates too slowly, where as Burnout 2 animates very well. Its really fast and fun with an arcade style.

Ive never played FzeroGX, but I hated the old Fzero on SNES.....so FzeroGX may be completely different from Burnout 2...some people say fzerogx is frustratingly hard...so,

go for the fun game, not the frustrating one. I Recommend Burnout 2.

F-Zero rocks!!! But story mode is so hard, but screw that play the rest.

Burnout 2 is amazing, crash mode is some of the funniest I have ever had in a racing game.

NFS2, don't know, haven't played it.

I've got all of them.

I would receommend Burnout 2 on the GC. It's fun, but the crash mode is excellent and the GC version has more scenarios.

F-Zero is more sci-fi-ish, and is very hard later on. Still good, but it depends just how much of a racer you are.

NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 is a game I own on the PS2. It's the most fun I've ever had with a racer. However, the PS2 version is much better than the other versions, so I would not recommend you get it on the GC.
How is it different than the other ones?
When they ported NFS HP2 to GameCube and Xbox (especially GameCube), they seriously screwed up the car physics and controls and eliminated the breakneck speeds that made the PS2 version so fantastic. :(

For flat out speed, nothings better than F-Zero GX. However it is very, very hard.
