Fable II - Gen Discussion & Info

I guess I'm missing something, but when I go to donate to the light temple for the one quest, nothing happens. I go inside, the one monk talks, and that's about it. A golden circle appeared in the middle of the floor once where the three monks around me would raise their hands in the air, but that's all they'd do. Is there some limitation that I'm missing to be able to do that quest?

Frisky, did you ever get your problem solved? You have to donate the right amount, and you have to be there at midday as well. It sounds like you already know this, though.

I'm having a problem of my own. I finished the Captain Dread Treasure Island of Doom quest, but as I was trying to get back onto the ship to sail back, I got stuck under the plank to get back on. So, I went to quests, selected the quest, and let it fast travel me back to Bloodmoon. I'm supposed to talk to Salty Jack, but he's not there. I think it's cause I fast traveled instead of using the boat. But I couldn't use the boat, as I was stuck. Not sure what to do now. Maybe I can find a way to get back to the island and take the boat.

No, I have no clue about what to do to finish the quest. I had at least $40k when I went in there and nothing happened, so how much do I need?

I just started playing this game yesterday. What are some good strategies for making money? Are there any particular properties I should buy that have great returns?

You might have to wait a little while (a couple hours gameplay) for the jobs to open up (especially the bartending), but those are pretty easy to stock up on money, especially the bartending. The woodcutting job is way too slow and tedious.

The first property I bought was the blacksmith followed by the bar in Bowerstone. Don't even bother with the small shops if you're looking to make money. The blacksmith shop should cost you around 45,000. Just make sure you entertain the owner to get the discounted price.

Well, I pissed away a lot of the money on those small shops! I'm saving up to get the blacksmith shop. Hopefully the bartender job will open up.

There is knowledge in the Fable II world and they're called books. lol I don't remember the name but the bookstore will help you out as one book tells you how to make money. I believe you should buy the stable/coach place to earn a lot of money.
once you get fat, how do you lose weight? Is it even possible? My guy looks ridiculous.
Eat lots of celery (or anything that decreases fatness).
Eat lots of celery (or anything that decreases fatness).
Thanks.

Im assuming get this from a produce stand.

Pretty much is just celery, though, right?

Anyway, slightly off-topic, the new Fable 2 premium theme for the DLC is actually pretty nice. Good alternative to the winter theme if you want to do Fable all year long. ;)
I struggled to get to the end of this game, but I could not. So clunky and boring. :/
Man, I disagree with this completely. This is the most fun I have had on an xbox 360 game so far. I absolutely love it.

great game expecially for the price i payed, but its a bit short i thought, even with doing all the side quests, but was still a great game.

Question regarding the Blind Date Side Quest

Is there any specific dude to be looking for? Do I just search around and hit up every random guy?

I'm having trouble getting my wife to bone me. That's going to get quoted somewhere.

Anyway, it keeps on telling me that my wife wants to have sex. I go to her, give her some flowers, then we go to our house. The only option by the bed is sleep. What else am I supposed to do?

I didn't try it before this, but go to the bookstore and buy the book where it gives you the come home with me option. Then you will be able to use that on your wife. When you click on the bed after using that, it gives you the protected or unprotected option.

I didn't ever try anything before I had the come home with me choice though, so maybe there is some other way.

you have to finger her first, then when she follows you to your bed
do like you would when you sleep and it gives you a choice of unprotected or protected sex

if that seems to hard go find a good looking whore to sleep with
i recommend the ones in bloodstone, but remember you cant make a ho a housewife

Have you considered "sending her on a long vacation"? :fridge: And then getting another wife? My second wife NEVER gives me any sort of problem with anything. My first wife was a victim of that glitch where they disappear.

• The Collector (25GS) — Acquire all the mystery items in The Box of Secrets shop, or see another Hero do so.

• The Meteorologist (50GS) — Bring all of Knothole Island's weather problems under control, or help another Hero to do so.

• The Bibliophile (25GS) — Find all the books detailing the history of Knothole Island, or help another Hero to do so.

Looks like I'm borrowing the game from Syn again.

So you're willing to pay $10 for DLC for a game you don't own? o_O

Man, and I still need Hoarder, Completionist and Dollcatcher

No, I won't pay the $10, I'll either wait for the cost to drop, or get free points.

You select "Sleep". It will then ask Protected Sex or Unprotected Sex. It's weird they do it that way, but sex like sleeping heals wounds. After I'm done, I'll let my hero sleep for 12 hours after just for fun so he won't have to cuddle.

Finally beat the game yesterday... So do i have to replay the entire game in order to see the outcome of the other two choices at the end?

I was kind of hoping for a big last battle...:(

How the f do I manually aim my gun? Im trying to hit a Gargoyle that is high up on a cliff but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it. I don't have an instruction book either. Thanks.

Beat the game today. Have all the achievements but the doll catcher. If anyone wants to help me who has the achievement feel free to add me to your list. I need Hammer, and Lucean. I have Reaver dolls for trade or we can see if we can find an alternate arangement

That is just cold man, just cold. I was seriously looking forward to powering through the content over Christmas. Freakin' nazis.

I'm still not sure if I'm going to buy it, so at least I'll have more time to think about it without the impulse buy effect. I hope it's good, but I'm not looking forward to it too much right now since I still have plenty of recent 360 games that I've barely opened.

I am really trying to like this game, but for some reason I can't get into it, it's just not fun  Fallout 3 blows this game out of the water!

DELAYED!?! WTF-I was wondering why the content wasn't available as scheduled on the 22nd.

I guess I am going dig deeper into the backlog.

I'm doing the sculpture thing in oakfield right now. Do you get extra renown after the first time if you have better poses after the first time? I'm trying to gain renown to do a quest but I can't for the fucking life of me time my button press to get in the green, I swear its fucking delayed. My little dot moves really jaggedly only in that section. I've done a lot of blacksmithing and woodchopping with no problems.

Where on G4 did Fable 2 win GOTY? All I can find is Halo 3. I want to see what Kevin P says about disagreeing with the choice.

Anyone got a vid link?

Ok Fable II veterans, I've got the game being shipped to me right now (I told myself I would only buy it after it was patched) and I want to know if there is anything I should know before starting the game.

Aeris dies at the end of disc 2.

Or was it disc 1??

I avoided learning the plot/events of FFVII for over a DECADE despite going to places like this and GameFAQs back in the day. I still haven't played FFVII, but damn I went a long time before learning about the Aeris thing.

Are you kidding? If you still haven't played it, I'm not sure you want to bother anymore. Maybe you're waiting for a remake.

I no longer intend to play it, that is why I let my guard down to learn about the plot. I've decided if I'm going to play a RPG it will be a current gen title...Like Fable II for instance.
