Fake Amazon Cancelled Order Email

I got one today

Glad (sort of) to see it isn't just me receving them.

What is the purpose of these? Is it a phishing scam?
 
From what I read on the Amazon forums, the links in the email directs you to all sorts of different sites, so it is kind of like a phising scam, but more spam if anything.

All of the Amazon links are of course phishing links, so I think you can figure it out from that point forward.

Problem is that the dumb fuckers trying to pull this can't figure out the format of an Amazon order number, so they stick out like a sore thumb.

I think that's probably the funniest part about reading the emails. The numbers aren't even close to the right format, lol. Right when I get to the order number, I was like, ah, not real.
 
Yep, tons of these now. I just marked it as spam and ever since none have made it to my inbox except legit ones.
 
Yea last week these and the Your World of Warcraft account has been suspended emails have all over my junk folders. Its funny because they always are sent to the emails I do not use for Amazon, and they are for a book. Being illiterate, how would I be able to read a book!
 
I never had these before until now, but it seems people have been getting them since February of this year, so I'm surprised I am just getting them now.

Yep, I've gotten about 6 of them in the past week. I know my amazon activity too well to fall for a phishing scam like this. These opportunistic bastards don't let up.

I got one of these too - I definitely did a double take and had to check my Amazon order history to make sure no one was placing any weird orders...
 
There's three different ones that I've gotten and luckily all of them go to spam inbox. ''Your youtube video has been uploaded, Your amazon order has been cancelled and you have pending facebook friends'' I have no pending facebook friends. foreveralone
 
I've also gotten quite a few of these the past couple days, I have been reporting them as well. I find it kind of funny as Diablo 3 is currently the only item I have ordered, plus all of the cancellation emails keep telling me that I cancelled the item on a day that hasn't happened yet (example: since today is the 14th, I'll get an email saying I cancelled an item on the 15th :/)

haha yeah according to those emails my Youtube video has been selected to be a "Top Video" on youtube.....at least 5 times :rofl:
 
Yup, I've been receiving the Amazon and Youtube spam for the past month. It goes directly in my spam but damn it's still annoying to get them at all!
