OK I found my dad but I never did the GNR quest, and I can not seem to find the building that the GNR is at, I am totally screwed on this? And where is the Fat Boy?
There might be another way to get there that I'm unaware of, but I'm pretty sure you have to go to the metro near Rivet City (L'Enfant South) to get to GNR. That's a good map, but it's misleading because there are some places you can only get to through metros, and it doesn't seem to point that out anywhere.
I know this is the 360 forum, but in case anybody is playing on a PC, and is sick of Dogmeat dying on them, put this into the console:
SetEssential 6a772 1
Dogmeat can no longer die a permanent death.
I'm on 360, and I just keep Dogmeat in my house. I'd like to walk around with him, but eventually, he's going to die, then I will be sad and load up an old save and lose a lot of progress.
So I just tell him to guard the house and my robot butler takes care of him until I get back, (at least, that's the story I've made up in my head )
Hahaha, I was gonna do that but on my way back to Megaton after meeting him(before I found out about fast travel) I had a run in with a deathclaw I ed that thing up for killing my dog

...did you run into it at the broke down train yard? ("broke down" is perhaps a bit redundant, heh heh)
The dog can take a beating though. I ran into a death claw, and he did kill my dog, but it took a lot longer than I expected.
Nuka Lurks were the worst!
They were easy for me, but then again I was level 18 at the time I went there I think. My closest near death experience was probably:
During the Oasis sidequest, I had just finished up the objective. I was fairly low on health as I was somewhat high level during the time and encountered Mirelurk Kings and Hunters non-stop through the place in mention. Then as I went into the next room I jumped down the hill thinking I was near the original entrance (which I may of been), but instead I was greeted by two Mirelurk Kings and two or three Hunters. In about five seconds I was almost dead and didn't manage to kill any in my single V.A.T.S. chance, so I dove into the water and somehow found an exit that lead out leaving me with just a sliver of health.
I could of used one of my 100+ stimpacks at the time, but I generally found the game too easy if you abused them so I try not to use them unless I'm having trouble in a specific battle or in between areas without beds.
I only explored the front door of that place. I have like 7000 caps and nothing to spend them on....how may homemade weapons are there???
Seven.
How many hours did it take for you to 1000/1000 it, Draekon?
About 45 hours. Would have been less if I just straight up used a guide, but 3/4ths of it was gained just via exploring and such. Towards the end I used a guide to find out where I could start the remaining side quests and used it to find one last Behemoth to kill. Oh and used a guide for bobblehead locations too.
where are all of them, one at the raider camp, GNR, ?????
There is one at the Capital Building, one outside Tacoma Industrial, and the other near Jury Metro. The latter only appears when you take the teddy bear from the cage by the train tracks.
Has this weird thing happened to anyone else in Megaton yet?
Walter, the guy who does the water processing plant goes missing? In my nephews game he found Walter dead under a house. I thought he killed him or some shit. Now in my game he has gone completely missing. I waited for him for 4 days in front of the water plant and he never showed up. Is this a weird glitch or does someone off Walter the Water Processing Guy?
Yeah this happened to me and many other people as well. Nothing you can do about it unless you happen to have an early save you want to load where he isn't dead. Not a big deal though as the quest is pretty meaningless. Although being able to sell scrap to him would be nice.
Does anyone know what happens to him though? Does he get drunk, fall of the railing, bust his head, and die?
Dead NPCs in Megaton are another known glitch. Usually no explanation, although some people have reported seeing NPCs glitching through the railing on higher platforms and falling to their death, so you're actually not too far from the truth...
I'm really loving this game so far. I've spent a lot of hours, but haven't gotten some of the basics yet. Like Morrowind I find myself just wandering around for fun despite the rather barren and colorless landscape. I goofed some early stuff. The sheriff got killed early on in a shootout so that probably lost me some quests. Bethesda did a great job as usual.
Questions: can you dual weild guns?? Where's the desert eagle?

Are you talking about the shootout between him and the guy who wants to blow up Megaton? If so then you didn't screw anything up
So 7 days after I got my console back from MS fallout has locked up 2 times. Both times when I was in the Wastelands exploring new areas. I hope this i just the game locking up and not my console about to RROD again.

Clearing the in-game cache remedies this. You have to hold the left bumper, the right bumper, and X as the game boots up.
Patch to remove the level cap is confirmed. Thank god. Hopefully that patch will also make it so you can keep playing after you've completed the main quest.

museum of techonology...holy shit...am I doing this right? I've been through like fifty metro's and still haven't reached the monument left. I'm on Penn Ave. now...am I close? Also is there another town besides Megaton that sells stuff?

It's the game. A lot of people are having this problem, including me. Apparently the game is really prone to freezing. It sucks, I know, but save constantly and you'll be fine. I don't know how bad it is for you, but I can generally play for a few hours before any lockups, so it's an inconvenience at most. I've only lost a fair amount of progress once.
Link?
Scratch that. Not quite confirmed yet. I realized my source wasn't exactly 100% reliable, but the patch is likely. I'm seeing a lot of buzz that they'll be boosting the level cap to 30, which I'm perfectly ok with. Anything more would make your character too powerful.
Finished it up tonight, well besides some of the side quests. I'll reload my earlier saves and knock out the evil quests and bobble heads later before eventually trying to get the good achievements.
I like how the ending is completely based on how you played the game.
but still crappy
This thing has tons on replay value and i'm looking forward to playing more after I get my fill of the new Gears and CoD.

It's been to long I forget where it is but........ Yes there will be lots of places to buy/sell/repair stuff. As well as traveling traders you will run into in the wastelands.
My character is already too powerful. I can't imagine going up 10 more levels.
Yeah, I can see how it would be a little unbalanced. What they should've done in the first place is make the level cap 30 and make each level up slightly less powerful. By level 30, anyone's character will be too powerful, but the problem in that people are reaching level 20 before really even starting the main quest, or any quests for that matter. I'm coming up on level 15, and all I've done from the main quest is travel to GNR.
Just did some mass genocide, I killed everyone in paradise falls
Hah! Already did that too because my karma was too high and discovered it by accident and I figured it, might as well kill them all. You get the slaves too? I Accidentally killed one with my mini gun.
Na, I freed one or two, but that was before I started killing the slaver. Sooooo, they went into a wall of bullets. I basically bought the kids and sent them to little lamplight and then went back and ed everyone up
Could somebody please tell me where exactly the nuka cola shipping manifest is?
Also, how do I get into the lock safe on the first floor that requires a key and is there a way to get into the double doors int he lobby with the very hard lock? (other than lock pick at 100)
Oh, those double doors just make it easier to get in and out. The shipping is on the the computer in the shipping area of the warehouse, use speech and tell the robot shipping foreman that you own the place and he can make you a key to the safe and give you the password to the computer
Eh i've grown a love it hate it relationship with this game. I've done a load of quests, but sometimes the almost non existant payoff for a quest
like killing Greta
dissapoint me wheres in Oblivion you'd see changes in the environment and such.
Also, is it just me or is this game effin scary at times? .
Some parts are pretty creepy. Like this part:
Inside the Museum of Tech, and you're in the Vault Tech Vault Display as you walking you see blood everywhere and bloody hand prints. I swear something was going to attack me in there. The atmosphere was spooky.
Those are the awesome parts, cause you don't know whats up. I still think andale is the creepiest or the Yao Gui caves. I still have to venture to the deathclaw caves
