Fallout: New Vegas - Gen. Discussion & Info
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/fallout-new-vegas/achievements/

Achievements got revealed.

The bad news? 10,000 damage with just your fists, explosives, etc. could be time consuming? "Hardcore mode" has to be activated from the start of the game for one achievement. No idea what thats about.

The good news? No more karma achievements. List looks pretty decent.
Hardcore mode is having to manage your hunger/hydration manually, and a couple other things I can't recall.

Karma achievements were so easy...

Make a save before you get to the level where you get one of the 3 achievements (good/neutral/bad) and just do whatever it takes to get it. Here and now perk made it incredibly easy (insta level up).

I'd say it took me 15 minutes to get all of the neutral and evil karma achievements(I got the good one on my first playthrough)

K-Mart will these coasters on 8/8 for $5. Also comes with $15 Video Games Saving coupon. Limit 1 per customer.

Just curious if anyone knows if Kmarts still have these in stock. I went to Bestbuy hoping to snag some but they were out.

I don't think there are any useable Gamestop coupon codes to be plopped on New Vegas, unless you plan on buying over $100 worth of stuff on the same order.

My Kmart has some in the clearance section.

Just checked the achivement list, I thought "Get Banned From All The Strip's Casinos" was an interesting one. You gamble too well and you get banned?

Maybe by getting a little too handsy with the sex robots?

You know what? I should. I'm getting the Collectors Edition for $80. So if I toss on another $20 of merchandise and apply the coupon it will still only be $80. :applause:

Just so everyone knows, the set of four coasters is pretty high-quality. I mean, it is thin cardboard, but seems pretty durable and sturdy. They don't seem very bendable. Got them the other day from a Best Buy preorder.

Nice. Still haven't opened mine. I got them from Kmart since it included the $15 off coupon if you buy the game release week.

I looked at a lot of footage of the game, and I'm not sold on getting this on Day One. The engine and gameplay looks just too similar to Fallout 3, and if the only thing changed about the game is the environment, I am disinterested in forking over MSRP for it.

P.S. The gambling looked terrible? I'm I alone here?

To me, the whole thing about a game like this is the story, environment, etc. I'm intrigued by the Vegas-angle and the re-introduction of elements familiar to the old FO games, like the NCR. Most importantly, though the game looks very similar to Fallout 3, they supposedly did a lot of work on the gunplay, so that you can actually feel very confident in playing this as an FSP and not always having to rely on VATS.

Not sure, but from the footage I looked at the actual gunplay (FPS wise) looks very similar. The enemies just move around too move so that its difficult to hit anyone in FPS mode.

What's the best deal for the game? Don't care about the bonus stuff since it all looks like extremely low level garbage. Best I've seen is Amazon $10 gamer gift card.
Kmart giving a $25 Gaming Coupon (valid towards any game bought at Kmart) with purchase. Best I've seen value wise.
When you buy Fallout:NV you only get $20 coupon not $25

First off, I'm not trying to start a fanboy warfare.

I am getting this day one, but I can't decide between the 360 or ps3 version. I played fallout 3 on 360 before I had a ps3, but over the past 10 or 11 months, ps3 has become my platform of choice for some reason. I know fallout 3 suffered some frame rate problems that weren't present on the 360 version.

Is there anything indicating that one version will run better over the other? I'm not really big into achievements or trophies (though I have been trying to build my trophy score), so that isn't too big of an issue. Controller isn't much of an issue. The only definite plus I can think of off the top of my head is gamesharing for DLC on ps3.

Just curious to see if anyone has run into anything that might suggest something either way. Again, I love both systems. No hating or flaming please! Let's keep this civil CAG..

You might want to wait a day or two after release till the comparisons start showing up. It is built on the FO3 engine so unless they polished it on the PS3 based off the framerate issues FO3 had, then I would expect it to be about the same.

I want to get the preorder bonus from amazon, so I may play it safe and go for 360...
Is this an expansion packz? It lookz like nothing more.
Is your "s" key broken?

Hint: It's beside the "a".

I don't think it really matters either way, but gamesharing DLC on the PS3 is a big thing considering how often Fallout DLC came out for FO3. I would say PS3 unless there are specific, gameplay affecting reasons the 360 would be better. Practically impossible to tell if the PS3 will be bugged like last time (although I never glitched once on the PS3) until the games comes out though.

I saw at my walmart B&M store that copies of fallout new vegas will come with $5 GC and a deck of Vault Boy playing cards
Can't wait....wish I could go to sleep and wake up when UPS delivers next Tuesday!
Note to self: Intercept UPS delivery Tuesday

I'm getting this game for my birthday so I won't be able to play until the 27th :(

Maybe I'll rent it for a couple days before my BlockBuster pass runs out.

I'm actually taking the afternoon off on Tuesday to play this. My gf is in Scotland so I don't have anything else to spend my vacation days on until she gets backl

Started looking at my order on Amazon and I decided to switch from Collectors to Regular, the extras just don't seem to be worth it this time around...for me anyways.
