Fallout: New Vegas - Gen. Discussion & Info
i meant why as theres no landmarks or attractions to add a vibe.
In the South? There's plenty! I could come up with more than 50 easily. The North surely has some too, I'd just have to look some up.

we're talking in one city or state.

i got the coca cola factory(which has already been in FO3 as nuka cola) and.....thats it.

Coke factory would be dull (and doesn't really give off the Southern vibe), I'm talking about more regional places that you probably wouldn't know about without living there.

If they were to do one based in the South it would probably be best if they did Northwest Tennessee/Southern Kentucky/Southeastern Missouri, that would allow for a nice drape of different land with different architecture styles and local flavors. They'd also be able to include the Fort Campbell army base, which would be pretty badass.
I have the platinum chip now. Still trying to decide if I should let Benny live, and what to do with Mr. House's bunker, etc. Too many decisions to make!!!
Well, try out.

I just replayed everything just to finish the legion too. Overall i spend like 120 hours on the game and that does not include DLC.
Personally, you should experience both. Kill him and let him live.

I recently went up north/west to the outher corner and was surprised. Lol...

This is actually the BEST place to make a clean save that you can come back to at any time. If you plan on playing the different endings/DLC then this is definitely where you need to make a save that you keep.

I've got all of the FNV achievements (except for just 1 honest hearts), and so I'm playing through the entire game for the first time just how I want to play it. No caravan boosting, no padding stats to hack stupid terminals, just perks, stats, quests, and S.P.E.C.I.A.L. the way I want them. I can go anywhere and do anything, and it's really exciting. 65 hours in and I'm having a blast. If you haven't played that way, start a new game and just explore!

I've been doing this too. I've just been exploring and I'm finding things I missed even after multiple runs though the game.
Is it just me or were the NV achievement pictures for the DLC dumb?
In what way? They're the same style as the rest of them. Too literal? Too abstract?

Bethesda already did radioactive inbreds in Point Lookout. If you want architectural style and local flavor, then you want Fallout: New Orleans.

fallout: bourbon street/mardi gras?

not monumental/physically large enough. if they keep the next game in america, i can only see them going to SF.

Yeah, I made one here for sure. I made sure I wrote it down on a Post-It inside my strategy guide, too, so I wouldn't forget which # save it is. Personally, I may try and side with each faction to see what happens. The "free agent" line sounds good, though, too.

If you want inbreds then you need to look a lot more South than that.

The free agent one was probably my favorite of all the endings. It was just great in all ways. Also, come really prepared into the final battle. Legate is crazy powerful.

If you bought the pre-order packs for $30 on ebay, you deserve to get hosed, I'm sorry.

Either way, I'm not going to get to Lonesome Road right away since the release date is the same as Gears, but I'm really looking forward to it.

I seen i think the Tribal pack for like $140 was crazy

I bought Mercenary pack for like $10

Amen.

I tend to roll my eyes at pre-order DLC items in general knowing sooner than later they will be up for grabs on the marketplace. These days the word 'exclusive' means 'whatever we want you to believe'. I'm in for the Gun Runners DLC and not much else. OWB managed to burn me out on the game entirely. I can't believe people found DM more difficult and irritating than putting up with a Nightstalker/Lobomite/Robo-Scorp ambush every f*cking time you walked more than five feet outside on Hard/Very Hard. It got old real quick. I still haven't gotten around to finishing it yet.

HH was the snorefest I thought it would be and then some. Graham and the Sorrow's companion were it's only saving graces. I also could have sworn the Giant Cazadors were f*cking ninjas. Ugh... I couldn't wait to leave with my loot. Graham's outfit alone was worth the trouble.

aren't they just shitty starting items?

Dang, I probably won't get around to that until a sale then, due to Gears 3, Battlefield 3, and Skyrim all within a couple months.

Still waiting for the inevitable all-inclusive GOTY edition like FO3 and Borderlands. After putting 120+ hours into FO3, I think I can stand waiting another 6 months or a year before getting into NV, especially with stuff like Gears3 and Halo:CEA on the horizon.

I dont think NV will get a GOTY edition

my wildcard for this reason is simply avatar gear

Fallout 3 n Borderlands had avatar gear and themes released

NV has nether, they arent putting as much throw into it, besides NV is like the Halo ODST of the fallout universe, its not Fallout 4
i just watched skyrim's gameplay. and man i hope the next fallout game is on the same engine.
That would give new meaning to the phrase "beautiful disaster."

man! i finished that quest with Sgt Contreras and I'm supposed to get "This Machine" unique weapon but apparently for me the quest is glitched!

so far the only way for me to get it is if I side with
Lt Boyd
but contreras is the best merchant in the damn game!
i dont want to lose him!~!!!

Just started playing this and running into an annoying situation. I had on some bad guy clothes on walking into a place to help protect the town and continue my quest and everyone opens fire on me. I get outside switch back to my regular clothes and go back in and I still get shot up. What do I do? This is early on where I rescued Prim's deputy now I'm going to talk to him but I get shot.

Gotta load to an earlier save. The game does warn you when you put on faction clothes/armor that you may upset some folks and get shot at.

Whenever I manual-save, I always alternate save slots, as in save A goes in slot 1, save B goes in slot 2, save C goes in slot 1, etc.

Had to reload a (slightly) earlier save after FNV refused to load save slot 1 yesterday...
Details please. I haven't gotten around to beating it yet myself. I quit when was just about to storm the enemy base.
I can't finish "all my friends have off switches" along with another quest. I have the plans for muggy and it will not recognize them. Quite annoying.

I have 100+ save slots

I take you're a completionist like myself or is that particular side quest integral to the main plot? I now consider myself lucky I didn't have any issues turning him on.

Yea I love completeing fallout games

you know fallout is a great game when its buggy as hell and it is one of the best single player games

Integral imo. Muggy being able to create items is a huge deal.

If you've already activated Muggy's primary function, then
All My Friends Have Off Switches should still be an optional quest.

I know that you're a completionist, but
Muggy is not an extremely useful OWB item, especially if you're level 20+, or you don't need Energy Weapon ammo.

I finished it a while ago. 1000 points and got nothing. Not even a cap. So sad. All that work.
But i got every achievement:whee:. My last take was the alliance with Ceasar. Pretty grim.
But haven't gotten any of the DLC's so far. Still waiting for a sale to come by.

I am pretty sure there has at least been a DotW for Dead Money?
Ugh. So I guess the lesson is to create a lot of save points.
And tip 2; never delete save games. You may regret it. I learned this the hard way.
