Far Cry 2 -Discussion & Info - 360 Map Editor & Gameplay Footage
Farcry 2 was easily one of the most enjoyable game I'd played all year. It completely usurped any attention I was giving fable 2 or Fallout 3. Like most games that are around 20 hours long, it takes 1 or 2 to get hooked. I'd easily take an mission pack/added faction expantion for this over Fable 2 or Fallout 3.

Anyone have suggestions on what would make Farcry 3 even better? Maybe some Stalker RPG elements?
more bus terminals so it doesn't take 15 minutes just to get to the mission objective...and your buddies not to be complete morons

This is the weird part - I've never heard a complaint about the driving in GTA. And don't bring up the guard posts.. with the exception of the jungle, you can always drive completely off the road and avoid them. I can hardly clear out a sidewalk in GTA without trading it off with a 3 minute cop chase.

I never got htose buddy complaints either. They save you.. done.. they get hurt and you don't want to save them? Don't. You'll make new friends.

Anyway, I just posted here talking about why I liked the game so much. If you didn't, that's cool. Plenty of other games.

GTA 4 had an abundance of cabs that could take you anywhere, so traveling in that game wasn't as bad as far cry 2. Far cry 2 only had 5 bus terminals in each region and even with the bus terminals you were still looking at long ass treks. On top of that if your vehicle got trashed making the trip on foot is such a pain.
Basically, in my opinion, traveling in Far Cry 2 is just tedious.

I want to save my buddies in the game but they can't seem to get the idea that getting riddled with bullets maybe hazardous to their health and it seems like they can only be revived once. If they go down in succession they're usually goners. I dunno maybe the AI could take cover or something gezz.

Guard posts wouldn't be that bad if they weren't constatly respawning the minute you leave that surrounding area. Also, the random goons in the machine gun mounted suvs are a pain in the ass.

I never really bashed your opinion...I respect it...I just stated the reasons why I didn't like the game.

Hey all. I have an unopened copy of the PS3 version of this game and have a friend who has it on Xbox and want to be able to play with him. Is anyone willing to trade it for the PS3 version? Or know anyone who might? I would like to do a version for version trade.

Let me know please!

Oh my god. Just finished Far Cry 2, and I have to say that I have never been this surprised by a game like this. I went from not liking it, to starting to like it but being frustrated, to now loving it. This is only behind Fallout 3 for Game of the Year 2008. Some thoughts.....

1: I hated the guard post re-spawning so quickly. I understand that they would eventually replaced dead guards, but it would have been nice to do it in say a 24 hour period. That being said, I found myself playing the game differently. I would drive out of the way to avoid known roadblocks, especially late in the game when they started having rockets that would kill you in one hit. Even if you wanted to play this game balls to the wall, you still had to play a bit of stealth from time to time. So in a way the re-spawning made the game more edgy.

2: I am surprised this game did not get more attention for its graphics. I really did not see a game this year that was as breathtaking. Far Cry 2 was gorgeous, with huge vistas, no load times (except saves and bus travel) and the day and night cycle, along with dynamic weather, fire and other effects, that never let up. Grass and trees, unlike the Call of Duty 4, looked real. This game proves that you don't need 60 frames per second to impress. Only minor pop up I could see.

3: Loved loved loved the ending. It felt like the beginning of Far Cry 1....did anyone else notice that? I wish the ending was a little bit harder. Heck there were some guard post that I had a harder time with.

4: Enemy AI was so good at times that when it messed up it was a bit jarring, but there were things they did that really surprised me. I did not like their GOD like vision in the jungle, and their ability to fight indoors left a lot to be desired, but nothing will get your heart racing more in a fight then when you hear that sound of a car engine growling up and you know you are fixing to get run over.

5: Jamming enemy weapons you pick up....OK, but come on, within 5-30 shots? It sure seemed that they worked better then that for them. Jamming weapons that you buy after 2-3 missions? fuck realism, when you buy a weapon it should last longer. Not a big deal, as you get in the habit of running to a gun shop and replacing them, but just a small annoyance.

If you have not played this game do yourself a favor and pick it up. If you have only played this game up to about 40% or less, and gave up on it, stick with it. Change your play style, and you may find you love it. I would have given the game a 6 out of 10 at the start, 7 out of 10 about 35% in and ultimately a solid 9 of 10 at the end.

Im having a problem loading my data. I press story mode, then continue and its like it freezes at the loading symbol. Then when I turn the console off I hear like a high pitch beep, like the disc is caught while spinning. I tried loadi ng it, and it gets to the save and I press it. Then while at the screen where it shows the little hints and scenic views it feezes again.

Ayone know what this is?????

What % if the game do you have done? If you are around 69-75 (I think 73% is the magic number) you may have a bug that can crash the game, and will have to boot up an older save, and play well past 73% before shutting down again.

Shit.....your kidding......I dont have any other saves.....DAMN. I will boot it up tomorrow and see what I have. I remember I left off where the UFLL and the APR joined forces and I helped some dude(Reuben I think) at the Airport. I am gonna be pissed if I have to start it over again.

Ok, checked it today and I am at 93%. Which is really gonna piss me off if I have to start over. I can play multiplayer but cant access the single

You might be screwed. I would always make more then one save in a game.

I wish the game explained a little more than it does. Nowhere does it tell you that you can't revive a buddy more than twice. I had to let Paul die because I was saved right before I had to help him at the train derailment.

I didn't do his Mike's Bar missions. So am I unable to do extras for the other guys? Do they even count towards 100%?
I found a video on Youtube. Thought it was a 9/11 tribute map. Not quite...

It's pretty insensitive, but I laughed my ass off at the awkwardness of it.
