Fatal Frame 2 - 9.99 Best Buy B&M

yeah, when i read this yesterday i virtually dropped everything i was doing and went there, and i was super disappointed. i asked one of the kids there about fatal frame 2 and he said "i haven't had that one in stock for awhile", to which i replied "ugh".
 
:( I checked the NJ GSP store again they seemed to have gotten other games instock except of course Fatal Frame 2, it's still listed at 49.99.

I did pick up Voodoo Vince and Outlaw Volley Ball.

I checked the Fashion Plaza Best buy and that too had nothing. Actually they didn't have one game onthe clearance list.
 
There was 3 in my local store so I bought them all, 1 for myself, 1 for my friend, and one for eBay to pay for my copy & the extra so I come out with a free game!

They had 7 Dark Cloud 2's and I was gonna buy em all to trade/sell/ etc. but they only let me get 3 so I'm doing the same with it. 1 for me, 1 for friend, 1 for eBay. Maybe I'll go get the rest at a later date.

I have to see if any is left. I wont be able to get back over there until LATE tommorow night...I will post about it when I do go.
 
GPS Paramus BB

OK since I REALLY wanted this game I decided to just out right ask when and if they're getting anymore in and the clerk said that they had a bunch that weren't selling then the price dropped they flew off the selves, people keep coming in asking for it. Alos they MAY get one last shipment in if they do it'll probally be only 6, no word on when. I assumed they might be since they're is still shelf space for FF2.
 
a piece of advice. If you are only going for one thing have them check it in the computer and then check other local locations so you dont have to mass travel for just one thing. Hopefully that will help someone.

Also my BB didnt have it in stock so when I was at Walmart I asked if they would match it and they said is it in the ad ? I said no but I know the shelf tag is 9.99. She said ok i'll call. She calls they switch upcs and she verifies and gets a manager to overide it for me. I think I just got very lucky but hey might be a good try for someone. 48.84 for 9.99.

Tried the same thing. The employee look at the 49.99 price tag and gave me a look like "no best buy doesnt sell it at this price". I went to a different one and tried to do that with Dynasty Tactics 2 and they called only for the stupid Best Buy employee to say "I don't know what it sells for." Arrgg.
 
hmmm I'd try it at Circuit City but I cheacked thier site and like BB it's not listed. Did they stop making this game?
 
Wasabi, we have too much competition in our area. Not only from CAG, but Paramus gets a buttload of people from other states for all their shopping needs. No sales tax on clothing and a pretty low sales tax (6%) doesn't help either. Its like we are the Cheap Ass Shopping area of the world. I never find any worthwhile deals at the GSP Best Buy. Ever try the Best Buy in the Fashion center on 17 north? By Toys'R'Us and Applebee's. I know last time I checked they didn't have it, but they may now.

Yea, i tried price matching it but they wouldn't let me either.

I know what you mean I stop by the GSP for luch a lot since I work really close and there are days when it's busier then X-mas time. Theoddiest thing was a few class trips to the mall?!

I checked the Fashion centerone and they didn't have anything cheap. I made one last stop on my way home from work and they took down the tab for FF2 so I guess that was a no when the guy said the MAY get one last shipment in.

I was thinking about swingin by either Secacus or the one by Willowbrook, but is GSP was out of it no way in hell Secacus would have it, and it's too late to make itwillowbrook now.
 
Wasabi, someone here posted that the Secaucus(sp?) one had one copy of Fatal Frame 2 left. But that was a while ago.

Didn't see Fatal Frame at the Rt 46 BB. Can't recall if I saw it in Secaucus--if it was there, it didn't stand out and I'll probably take another look.
 
toys r us was gonna let me pricematch with a receipt....but the catch....best buy had to have it in stock...i knew best buy didnt have it in stock....cuz i bought em out of their last 3 copies....if only i wouldve went to toys r us first....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

DAMN!! I went to Best Buy yesterday night looking for Fatal Frame and they did not have any!!! What is up with this, why arnt they carrying them anymore?

Is this game cheap anywhere else?
 
Specter..I asked the clerk told me if Best buy does, it'll be probally 6 copies then thats it.

I have to say missing this deal makes baby Jesus cry. Espcially sinc eI'm always in or near best buy and never noticed f they ever had Fatal frame 2 in stock untill this deal :(
 
When BB, Target, or CC clearances a game, it means they will no longer be stocking it.

Essentially, it sat on the shelves too long and they want to make room for the next "hit" title. If u look around, there are plenty of copies about, but I imagine, like the first one, it will be increasingly harder to find.

BTW - FF2 was just announced for XBox today, complete with a new first person mode. More Tecmo love for MS.

Wow, thanks for posting this news. Frustrated in trying to find myself a PS2 copy of FF2 cheap, I finally broke down and used some of my store credit at GameCrazy to buy a new copy at full price. I absolutely hate paying full price for games, especially older ones. Now I can return this game today and wait for the beefed-up XBox version. Great news. Thanks again donssword. :)
 
I was lucky enough to snag the last copy here in Mobile, I did however ask about them getting any more in stock (as well as Dark Cloud 2) and the salesman told me they would be getting some in and to check in on tuesday... if they do i will pick up some for this forum (for trades, I dont really care about doubling my money) :lol:
 
I'm actually going to buy this if I see it, but keep it sealed in hopes for credit towards the XBox version. The XBox version is supposed to have a few extras, and I already have the first one on XBox which supposively semi-rare. Too bad I can't the same for SIlent Hill 3, man that series is gonna look wierd in my collection. SH1 PSOne, SH2 XBox, SH3 PS2, SH4 XBox, SH5 PS3? :p
 
Attention all Delaware CAGs! As of 1pm today, the Kirkwood Hwy (Wilmington) Best Buy still had two copies of Fatal Frame 2 on the shelves. The Concord Pike store had none though (I picked up the last one there).

It appears that just about ALL of the Best Buys across the country got a shipment of 2 copies over the last week. You just have to make sure you get there right after they put them out.

drone8888, I'm about a half hour away from that store and with the price of gas these days I don't think I'll be heading in that direction again for several days. I'll keep it in mind next time I go by it but I assume it will sell out by tomorrow.

I assume the Dover store doesn't have any in stock? If you don't see any on the shelves ask them to check the computer system to see if any are "on hand." My friend was able to find some in Florida this way because they had them sitting in the back.

SH1 & 3 deal with each other so you should get the PS version, whereas 2 & 4 dont really deal with the events in 1 & 3

Yes I know that, but the casual gamer probably has no idea about it. They probably say "WTF? Why wasn't SH3 on the XBox? Did they just skip to four or something?". I honestly didn't know about SH3 relating to SH1 till I read about it over a month ago. Either way if I have the choice I'm going to support the XBox when I have the chance.

Back on topic, no FF2 copies at my best buy as of four days ago, but I'll check again to see if my store got the rumored copies and then i'll post results.
