Fatlus reveals "Catherine" for PS3 and 360: STARRING THE GUY FROM P3P

I heard the naughty edition comes with a blow-up doll.

Ha. Of course, Record of Agarest War already did all that.

The latest issue of Famitsu 360, a Famitsu spin-off that focuses only on Xbox 360 titles, Atlus shared a few more details on their upcoming HD title, Catherine.
Catherine’s been in development at Team Persona for two years, according to the interview. The game should last about twenty hours on the first run and will have multiple endings for maximum replayability. Players can choose from multiple difficulties to play, however, whether or not it’ll affect the story is unknown.
Unfortunately, when Atlus was asked if they could say anything about an HD Persona title, they denied comment.
Catherine launches this winter on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan.

Yeah, yay for about 20 hours. I went over 100 on P3 and P4, and with my limited time for gaming that's just too much. It means I miss out on lots of other games.

If it's a action/adventure/horror (or whatever this game is) then 20 hours is pretty norm. Now if this was an RPG I'd be disappointed.

I think "vegetarian" is a slang term in Japan for guys who choose not to date/fuck/marry/etc.
Actually it is a term to describe guys who are feminine/metro aka 80% of the guys in Japan.

Can't wait for this, P3P is my first title from them and it's great. Main character is Vincent, apparently. And both the blonde women and the one with glasses are named Catherine in the trailer....

Hmm.
The music that kicks in half way through is *** awesome. It seems so familiar...
The music thus far has been hip-hop style remixes of classical music. I think I'm more excited for the soundtrack than the actual game!

EDIT: I can't recall the name of the particular piece in the new trailer, but it sounds a lot like the Kefka-goes-nuts scene halfway through Final Fantasy VI.

DOUBLE EDIT: Okay, yeah, doesn't sound as similar as I had thought.

It's heavily remixed Wagner guys. "Ride of the Valkyries"

And I must say, excellent use of that piece.
I love this game.

Who doesn't know Ride of the Valkyries, but man, you truly can't tell they're related. Remixing is a wonderful thing. I hope the full remix is released.

Atlus Faithful e-mails have kind of become quiet lately, hoping they're getting ready for a big announcement :) I've already sent one letter asking for Catherine to be released in NA.

Nope.

I dunno about the puzzle block stuff--looks like a pain in the ass. Everything else looks damn cool though.

no discrimination!!

demos for all!!

seriously tho, who would buy a japanese gold account??

buying an american one is bad enough...

It's for both platforms, but I was talking about PS3. I dunno if the 360 demo is out yet, but the PS3 one is.

I played the demo when it came out, but I jus spent a lot of quality time with it jus now trying to figure out the scoring system.

I got gold ranks on both stages! ^_^v

your score is pretty much based on speed, the faster u win the more points u get,

but it's also based on keeping your combo meter up which I believe is a score multiplier. It goes up by one point whenever you ascend one level and resets if u fail to ascend higher before your combo meter drops. You will want to perfect combo your stages.

then there's gold. It seems you need to collect ALL the gold in the stage to get a gold rank, otherwise u wont have enough points.

lastly there's the extra block u can pick up. Going thru the stage without using this will not give you a score bonus so it's best to use it. And it just so happens, you actually need to use it in stage 2 to access two pieces of gold.

I really enjoy the game! It requires quick and precise execution to perform well in the game, but the downside is that it'll prolly take a lot of replays to memorize and figure out the best routes thru stages.

but as a fan of games like Exit and Mario vs DK, I really dont mind since those games are the same way. I hope they announce this for release here soon!!
