favorite cookies?

What would be your 'perfect' cookie. What would be in it?

mine I think is a toss up between apple, raisin, cinnamon, and oatmeal
and white chocolate, marshmallow, and molasses

I thnk that's an overkill.

I'll stick with good ol' fashioned chocolate chip. I can be boring like that sometimes, heh.
Man, those Ice Cream Chocolate Chip Sandwhiches at Dairy Queen.
funny I have those in the freezer at work...along with every kind of dilly bar they sell...jealous now? :D Sorry I have to brag.

Actually, I like cookies frozen. My sister would make them, and they'd get put in the freezer, for later warming, but I would just leave it like it was.

summers at my grandpa's sisters house she'd make chocolate chip cookies before we got there and freeze them, the kids would take turns stiring the homemade icecream and we'd get the frozen cookies out and make HUGE icecream sandwiches...then we'd wrap the rest of them up and save them for next time :)
That aunt is so cool...she had a pinball machine in her basement and a pool in her yard :)

Easily available -- the soft chocolate chunk cookies from BJ's Deli, or Mrs. Fields's choc. chip cookies.
Not so easily available -- Matt's Chocolate Chip Cookies. They were soft, and full of choco chips. no store near me carries them anymore though :( they were the best premade cookies I've ever had.
The idea of a white chocolate macadamia w/ craisins cookie just hit my brain ...
I've never had them with craisins, but I'm all about the white chocolate macadamia.

at my internship I actually made cookies like that...only they were in a shortbread dough base...so they were crumbly and dry. But that in a vanilla dough would be good.
Peanut Butter.
I love peanut butter, but the cookies are hit and miss. Usually too dry.

I've never had one (or even seen one) but now that I've got the idea I'll be trying to rectify that situation.

Macadamia nut-white chocolate chip. It's the only form in which I like white chocolate.

Holy crap, Matt's Chocholate Chip cookies were the freaking best. I haven't seen them around here in years. My current favorites are Lofthouse frosted cookies. So soft, so chewy, so frosted  As for homemade, I rock out the peanut butter chocolate chip. I bake them so they stay nice and soft, too.

Yep.... Food Lion used to carry them, but now no one does. You can actually order them from mattscookies.com, and they charge actual UPS shipping, but for me to get the cost down to about 2 bucks a bag incl. shipping, I'd have to buy like a case.
I like soft cookies. We have a gas stove and it cooks hotter, so we are still tweaking it, figuring out how to get them done but not overdone on the bottom.

The secret to the best chewie cookies is to take them out when they are still a little doughy in the middle. They keep cooking after you take them out.

I never thought I'd be happy to bake cookies until we replaced our approximately 50 year-old stove (came with the house) with a brand new one. Youcouldn't bake anything evenly on the old one, but one of the first things I did when we got the new one was figure out the perfect timing for cookies.

dtcarson

light colored pan
reduce oven temp by 25 degrees
cook on highest rack (if flame is at the bottom) it's been so long since i've had a gas stove I can't remember lol
and cool the dough for 20 mins on the pan before baking

that should take care of it ;)

All of the cookies mentioned. I LOVE cookies. Cookie Monster was my hero when I was growing up so I would emulate him. I did better than him actually since I could actual EAT the cookies instead of spilling it all over the floor.

Cookie Monster doesn't eat cookies anymore

On topic: my favorite cookies are christmas cookies baked by my family during "Cookie Fest." All homemade dough and homemade icing. Yum!

It's ok. I've outgrown CM. I think I'll manage.:D

Samoas

Unfortunately you can only get them once a year when the girl scouts come around.

Actually, that's probably good for my wallet and my waistband.

I have to change my vote. My favorites are from Eileen's cookies, which are cherry chocolate chip. It's like a soft cherry dough, with chunks of chocolate in them.:drool::drool:

They is the unbelieveable, but not listen on the website! Blaspheme!

I get these Amish monster cookies when I go to the Poconos in PA. theres are flea market in Marshalls Creek and they set up a stand there on Saturdays. These things are totally awesome. M&M's oatmeal and other stuff in em. If anyone's up that way stop by and pick up a bag. You won't be sorry

I create perfection regularly, I'll admit it. I make some amazing chocolate chip cookies. Quite soft, but awesome. Goes great with a glass of milk.
I second that.
THIRD'D. I made my own brownies once...... a feast for the mouth.....

There's lots of good cookies out there, but I think my mom made some of the best a while back. They were called "snowball cookies" or something. They were soft, white (regular) cookies with a warm Hershey's kiss in the center...and they had powdered sugar sprinkled all over them. :D
