Trying to remember my favorite mini games. I tought it might create a nice discussion. Sorry if this has been discussed before. I don't really care for mini games that much anymore but two of my favorite were:

Tekken Bowling from Tekken Tag. I played this a lot in college. I loved K.O.ing a inicent bystander with a speeding gutter ball.

Snowboarding in Final Fantasy VII. Not really much to say about it other than I played this alot. I think I remember Cid & Tifa as unlockable characters in snowboarding.

Definitely snowboarding in FF7. Pazaak in KotOR 2 was pretty good, too, as they fixed the rather painful problems from the first game. Also, playing "tag" in Mario 3 was bitchin' as hell back in the day.

I started Breath of Fire 4 recently, and good lord does that game ever overdo the minigames.

Yup, sort of. Cid and Tifa can go to Icicle Inn and snowboard when either one's your party leader, and afterwards, there's a random chance they'll show up in the Gold Saucer version of the minigame. Similarly, Cid and Tifa can also race chocobos.

Anyway, my favorites. Like kilm, I love Triple Triad from FFVIII. Chocobo Racing from FFVII and Sphere Break from FFX-2 are some other favorites. However, my all-time favorite minigame is probably Chocobo Hot and Cold from FFIX.

I've always thought Tekken did a nice job with their mini-games. They actually feel like something you want to play, rather than check list items on the back of the box.

These aren't mini-games so much, but I do remember really liking the army segments in the Suikoden titles, or at least the first two. Simplistic, but fun.

I am not sure why, but fishing games in RPGs seem to really draw me in. BoF 3 and Legend of Legaia I know I spent a lot of time with the fishing in those. Guess it has something to do with the atmosphere it provides.

Mario Party 1 and 2 I believe had this mini game, but it was the one where your character was holding sacks of coins and you had to get behind them and try and shake it out of them while avoiding the same thing happening to you. Thing is it looked like when you were shaking the money out of them is it looked like you were fucking them. I Just remember it was hilarious as hell when watching it.

Also Pokemon Stadium, the Lickitung Sushi game.

I hate mini games. They're cute and all, but doesn't really fit well in the story and especially those mini games you can keep on playing over and over...

Definitely Tekken Bowl. Good stuff.

Also Sphere Break from FFX-2. I hated the game at first, but for some reason one day I got addicted to it. I became like a Sphere Break master. Kicked the shit out of Shinra.

Blackjack, on my iRiver mp3 player. Its a mini-game because it fits into my pocket. Hur-hur.
That reminds me. Fishing in Twilight Princess. So good.
Yes, this was a lot of fun. If there were a few more fishing locations and a greater variety of fish you could call it a full blown game in it's self.

I really liked Blitzball, and I got pretty hooked on Gear battling in Xenogears. Loved Georama and that weird golf in Dark Cloud 2, but the latter was pretty frustrating.

Oh damn, also VMU Chao raising, and the Chocobo Pocketstation game.

Monkey Target in Super Monkey Ball, and this one minigame in I think Mario Party 8 (whatever the last one that came out in Gamecube) that was essentially "Simon Says" using both the analog stick and the C-stick. You had to follow commands on the screen; for example, if it says "Left Down", you tilt the analog stick Left and the C stick down. At first, it's really slow, but when you get to the much higher levels, where it's nearly instantaneous, it gets intense. Only fun if playing with other people (of course, Mario Party in general is only fun to play with other people)
