What is your favorite sports event?

For it would be the baseball world series. Maybe because I'm a huge baseball fan but the games are always fun to enjoy and like they say october ball is not scripted, so you never know what can happen. Hopefully one Chicago team makes it into october ball next year!

do you mean "venue" or "event"?

Daytona 500. Its great to get to see the biggest race of the year after having 3 months of no racing. Well as long as a DEI car doesn't win...

i also have to say that the stanley cup finals is the event i enjoy the most.

i would almost say the superbowl, just because everything comes down to that one individual game, but i'm not a really big football fan.

The World Cup on a 4-Year cycle or the Champions League or FA Cup finals on an annual basis (especially when Arsenal is playing).

As for North American sports: The Stanley Cup

And for fake sports: The Royal Rumble.

I'll agree there.

And I'll go with the Stanley Cup finals for my favorite.

The past few years I've watched the Super Bowl I've been more interested in the commercials.

World Cup by far. Went to 5 games at Giants Stadium in 1994 and nothing, in my opinion, could beat it.

World Cup is soccer...

Actually, the world cup is Football, especially since that's what the majority of the world calls it.

Spoken perfectly. And the name of Giants Stadium doesn't change when the Jets or another sport plays there. They just overlaid a grass field on top of the astroturf.

My favorites are the Stanley Cup Finals and the Super Bowl, in that order.

But if I could only attend one more major sporting event in my lifetime it would be the Kentucky Derby.
That is odd, I have never heard anyone refer to the super bowl as the world cup.
That's because the World Cup is for Football, the Grey Cup is for Canadian Football, and the Superbowl is for American Football.

It'd have to go:

Stanley Cup Playoffs (Not just the finals, the whole thing...Gotta love all that fucking hockey)
Super Bowl (Just such a spectacle, and can end up being an awesome game)
Daytona 500 (Like someone already said, after three months of no racing, it's great to have the single biggest race happen. Though I won't agree with him not wanting a DEI driver or car to win)

Daytona 500

(I'm a DEI fan, but I am getting tired of only seeing these big multi-car teams battle it out for the win on the plate tracks. I'd really like to see an under-funded/single car team take the win sometime, as Daytona and Talladega probably serve as their best chance to do so)

For an annnual event, I have to go with the Superbowl.

Over all though, I have to say the Olympics. Either summer or winter, although I do prefer summer. I really enjoy watching track and field.

The Superbowl is hands down in my opinion the best sporting event on a yearly basis.

Other things like the Stanley Cup and World Series are cool, but there are too many games, so usually only the deciding games are intense. The Superbowl is it, and the games are generally great games.

The Final Four, Olympics and World Cup are also up there.

Boring, boring Arsenal! Well, not really anymore. But they're still a bunch of dirty cheats!

Anyway World Cup for sure, and after that regional championships, especially the European Championship and Gold Cup.

As a huge sports fan for the games it's got to be the World Series but as an all day event nothing beats the Super Bowl....

March Madness! The Big Dance! College basketball is my fav sport.

The Superbowl... good parties, but the game usually sucks and is a blowout. Though some recent ones have been pretty good, including last year.

Whatever the Redsox, Patriots, or Bruins are playing in.

And I don't want a lecture about how soccer is really football and we should start calling football "American Football". I doubt even 5% of America cares about pro soccer.

Also, Nascar is not a sport.

For me it's...

March Madness (or Final Four, whatever you'd like to call it). It's is more exciting than any other event by far. There are always the Cinderella teams that have a chance and the "one and done" format is perfect.

The Superbowl and Wimbledon are right there with it though.
Stanely Cup.
Hockey really gets entertaining in the playoffs. You can't lose with those hard hits.

The Super Bowl is over rated. There has only been 1-2 good games in the last 10 years. I usually stop watching after half time unless their is a poll going.

Super Bowl - Boring games can get interesting if you're playing squares. Meaningless touchdowns and fieldgoals change who's winning the money.

Day one of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. More basketball than your can shake a stick at, and you're pretty much guaranteed to have a shocking upset or two.
