Okay, I'm playing Street Fighter IV's arcade mode. Basically the first time I've played much SF, I'm shitty. Can anyone give me some broad guidelines of how to begin to suck ass less? As a shitty fighter player there's just stuff I don't get--like when fighting Abel or Zangief, I can do all this shit to them but then they'll throw me twice and I'll lose all my HP, and I can't seem to stop being thrown at all besides staying crouched--and sometimes they'll throw me a second time literally right after the first throw ends, and I can't do anything at all.
Who are you playing as?
A lot of times, you need to play keep away with those big

ers.
(This is why we're all talking about the insane grab range Zangief's jab SPD just got in AE.)
For example, if you're playing with Ryu or Ken, you can throw fireballs until he tries to jump over them. If he jumps, you can anti-air with a standing roundhouse (I think) or any dragon punch, etc.
You can exploit the computers AI if you want on lower levels by using focus attacks as they walk in to throw you (hold MP and MK) -- this will crumple them and give you a free shot (since you're a beginner, just take the free hit. if you're Ryu/Ken, you can fierce dragon punch or crouching roundhouse, for example).
Also, if they're using regular throws, not command throws (example: Zangief's SPD vs any other throw he uses, I think), you can tech the throw by attempting a throw at the same time (LP+LK).
When you get a little better at the game, you can throw a slow fireball with Ryu/Ken and follow it in to get close, jump in with roundhouse, the sweep with crouching roundhouse.
