Capcom annoys me.

Nerfing Seth for the 2nd time in the SFIV series because apparently he's too OP, but it's alright to throw in Oni Akuma and Evil Ryu?

There are some days I wish I was an FPS nerd, so I could stop dealing with Capcom's bullshit.

I'm sure I'm probably the only one who doesn't know this stuff, but what the hell do all these acronyms mean!?!? FGT?!?! GGT?!!? OTT?!! Fight Game Thread? General Gaming Thread? Off Topic Thread?

You just answered your own question.

Now that I'm pretty much over SSF4 since they took out one of Cammy's main tools in AE, BRING ON MvC3!!!

[quote name='MusicNoteLess']You just answered your own question.[/QUOTE]

Eh..Figures.... Anyway, thanks for not giving me the "fucking noob" treatment

[quote name='Rodimus']This is a ridiculously ignorant question but is MVC3 a 4 button layout?[/QUOTE]

Light, Medium, Hard, Exchange... I think that's it, somebody feel free to correct me.

EDIT: Wait, two assist buttons too, duh. lol

Read this on Gaming Nexus:

Now that E3 is over and Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has been played by the public, we finally have information on the scontrol scheme that will be used for the game. Back at Captivate, Seth Killian mentioned on numerous occasions that the final button set up was still being debated. The team bounced back and forth between traditional 6-button Street Fighter setups and styles a lot more similar to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

According to those who got a chance to sit down with the game in LA, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will actually incorporate a combination of both. While the game will utilize a 6-button setup, the button assignments are an expansion of the TvC arrangement. The button layout consists of you typical 6 button sprawl and the top 3 will function as attack buttons. The game will not feature specific punch or kick buttons, but rather three attack buttons differentiated by their power: weak, medium, and strong.

The bottom three buttons act as auxiliary functions with the first button being a launcher button (to propel your opponent into the air) and the other two serving as partner buttons (one for each). Personally, I think that this sounds perfect. I really grew to absolutely love the control scheme of TvC and this sounds like it simply takes that to the next level. 2011 cannot come quick enough.

I thought I remember Seth Killian mentioning that players had a choice in the options menu to either have a TvC layout or the more traditional layout of MVC2.

Never played TvC, although I have a Wii. My Xbox takes up all of my time. Guess I need to get it hooked up, pick up a copy of TvC and check it out.

He said they were thinking about implementing this around pax last year, but i havent heard shit about it since.

[quote name='heavyd853']He said they were thinking about implementing this around pax last year, but i havent heard shit about it since.[/QUOTE]

Yeah it isn't in the game. The layout is as follows (I could be wrong, but 99% sure that I'm not)

Weak - Medium - Hard
Exchange - As. 1 - As. 2

Exchange works as an extra attack button that does your characters launcher. It is also how you execute those tag-in air combos you see in lots of videos floating around.

Also, welcome to another Philly FGT. You heading to Winter Brawl 5 at the end of February?

[quote name='heavyd853']He said they were thinking about implementing this around pax last year, but i havent heard shit about it since.[/QUOTE]

Sad panda :(

Yeah, you want to stick to the default layout...

Code:
A B C
E 1 2
B+1* or C+2* to hard tag your chars in. If you did this:

Code:
A B 1
C E 2

It would be extremely awkward.

To everyone with a SFIV SE/TE stick, use control type B to use the default layout.

Word.

Also, I might go to Winter Brawl, so if anyone here goes, see you there maybe ! (Unless I go to France for World Game Cup).

Not really sure who I wanna play with in MVC3...I'm thinking of starting with Chun as an assist character since she's apparently easy to use for that, and probably either Deadpool or Dante, and someone else.

[quote name='MarkMan']Also, I might go to Winter Brawl, so if anyone here goes, see you there maybe ! (Unless I go to France for World Game Cup).[/QUOTE]

Word up Markmang, I'll be there. See ya then (if you make it)!

[quote name='Rodimus']So Thor seems to be the worst fighter in the game. That sucks[/QUOTE]

What makes you say this? He seems to have good corner pressure from what I have seen.

[quote name='Rodimus']Just what I read from the article someone posted earlier. Nothing scientific just one guy's impression.[/QUOTE]
this reminds me of sf4 viper

when the game came out, i don't think anyone ever envisioned the way that she plays now.

we can even go back in time just a little bit to when justin said adon was the worst character in the game

[quote name='Rodimus']The traditional MVC2 layout would be ideal. Never really took to the TatsuCap 3 button layout.[/QUOTE]

Yeah I still say I enjoyed Tatsu alot less due to this

[quote name='Rodimus']Just what I read from the article someone posted earlier. Nothing scientific just one guy's impression.[/QUOTE]

He was buffed in the Viper/Storm build, according to impressions from UltraDavid:

His command grab has more range and recovers very fast, his grab super has more range, and mighty strike can be launched out of and is safe. Those are real nice buffs! Also his normals have a ton of active frames, some of his normals are really good, and he hits really hard (Keits killed 90% of a character with lv3 xfactor Thor). Seems like a good character to me so far.

That statement bit him in the ass so hard at Evo2k10. Man was that room going crazy during Gamerbee v. JWong.

I thought the general consensus was that Hulk was pretty much the worse character in MvC3.

[quote name='Rodimus']Just what I read from the article someone posted earlier. Nothing scientific just one guy's impression.[/QUOTE]

Yea, I think in the earlier/ish builds his Normals were really slow, his movement was really slow (even with 8 Way Dash/Flight), his Tornado would whiff randomly because of an odd hitbox and his Command Grab range was ass.

We'll see though. 3 weeks to go!

This was pre pax build if iirc, they fixed his damage by a big margin since then.

Who knows whos worst right now!

[quote name='hankmecrankme']Sadly, we won't truly know anything about MvC3 high level play until the Arcade Edition.

Real competition is at the arcades.[/QUOTE]

Yea dawg, all these console $$$s ain't know shit until 'dey hit up 'dem arcades, yo. It's where all 'da real shit goes down. You ain't nothin' foo, NUTTIN'!

[quote name='hankmecrankme']Real talk, ain't nobody doing $15k money matches at home.[/QUOTE]

Word, need more $15k money matches with 'dem sponsors puttin' up 'dat cash. Shiiiit, you ain't neva gettin' 'dat shit on consoles. Real talk, 'dey all pussies n' shit cuz 'dey ain't neva been to an arcade. 'Dey need to move to Cali and get 'dem some of 'dat arcade exposure.

I'm a pretty big Digimon fan, and I've played just about all of the games, so I can say with a clear conscience that Digimon Rumble Arena was one of the worst fucking games I have ever played.
