levelup was just a bunch of guys who loved street fighter and learned how to stream from scratch. evo was just an ever expanding tournament that started in a small arcade. seth killian was originally a community guy, now he brings us news for all of capcom. markman was just a tekken guy who just liked joysticks. filthyrich was a guy i used to play tekken with, now he's community leader for bandainamco.

i think that's the amazing part, it's not something that was commercialized, it was something that the community built from scratch and is now reaping the benefits. the people responsible for producing it are largely the people who play the game. sponsors chase the players, not the other way around.


the stream was great to watch. commentary was on point and we got all the info we needed. i can legitimately say i enjoyed watching at home more than i did watching live at evo.
the only thing i wish i got to do was meet kayo police. =)

Then I rolled with a 5 year veteran of Brazilian Jiujitsu and now my wrist/hand is all fucked up. At least it was a draw. :boxing:

* stealing food from another group's banquet. JEKKI's 11 was a frugal success!!
* Wicked Spoon. mac n cheese bar, truffle potatos, this magical chocolate apricot dessert thing, and friend chicken in a way my imagination could never have comprehended fried chicken to be.
* Pinball Hall of Fame. omg, this place is straight up GDLK
* Markmang winning the Cannon!!

bad parts:

* not being on the strip, I musta taken my car out like 30 times that weekend, each time with an apprehension to drink.
* spending damn near $50 on alcohol and not getting the least bit tipsy. With that said, Im all for drunk women but when I see a group of bros maad wasted I really do not feel bad about gambling losses.
* roulette. fukk this game can eat a dick and I never wanna play it again.
* Asian X Core. where the freek was that guy?!?!?! u shoulda came out for buffet dinner nukka!!!

JEKKI + Smallwind: Sorry I didn't go to the buffet with you guys on Saturday night. I went to the Bellagio Buffet with my g/f and some friends a couple days before. Also when Jim hit me up I wasn't hungry enough to drop $30 on Dinner at the Bellagio.

Shoutouts to at least getting a small amount of hangout time with Jim and HeavyD. I was happy to finally get 2 games of offline Marvel vs. Jim and 3 games of offline Marvel vs. HeavyD.

tbh i loved watching the stream. the commentary was great because we got to hear a lot of history of players, explanation of tactics. it was great to hear what was going on. when i watch live i don't get that info and it's just two dudes versus each other.

also i get to watch in a comfortable chair in a direct feed instead of being far away from a big screen next to people who smell bad. :D
