Good god, that is the most beautiful cab I've ever seen. That must cost a fuck ing fortune. Hell, I'd even be happy with the XBR hanging on the wall.

T6 is really shaping up to be something special. I haven't been this excited about Tekken since the very first game way back when.

asian -- I've noticed that the 360 and original Xbox do better when directly connected to the modem. I used to disconnect my router and connect directly when I was downloading content or if I was hosting a room.

Hmm thanks, maybe my router just sucks. I don't have a problem downloading XBL content or XBL arcade games, just big stuff aka Halo 3.

I really don't want to worry about that kind of stuff if I get a PS3 and try to download T5DR

As far as Tekken 6 goes, I hope they bring back Asuka's geisha costume (tattoo on the hip) and have Marrrrrrrrrduk as a playable character. :)

It's definitely worth trying to dl directly behind the modem to see if the router is the problem, although you could also take a look at your router settings, particularly the MTU size. I know XBL likes 1365 or better. I think there's a way to check on your console as well, but I haven't bothered to check any of that stuff.

I'd have to assume that PS3 would require similar network specs.

That actually does sound like a router-related problem. I believe XBL needs MTU size of 1365 or better to work properly. It could be a matter of tweeking that setting on your router, or maybe you have an older router/firmware that can't handle that.

I'd have to assume PS3 would have similar network requirements.
 
best bet is see if you can borrow a friends router or get a new one. if you've had it for a while, it's probably time to upgrade. I like playing you, but your router or line seems cursed.
 
Connecting directly to the modem is the absolute best way to play online. It just sucks that I'm jacking wireless internet from the guy upstairs. I can log onto Xbox Live but I can only play certain people.
 
Thanks for the tips. I'll probably be shopping for a new router in the near future then. Until then I'll check out my router software, see if I can change some settings around.

I find it sort of funny/odd that many of us are considering getting PS3's very soon. I'm hoping to get one in the next week w/ VF5, if my Supergun sale goes through on Thursday.

the waiting is killing me.

I think Tekken DR online was the real pull... It's basically what everyone on this thread was asking of Namco. I still say wait till after E3 since you don't wnt them to announce something and fuck you oever... it's only about 2.5 weeks away.

oh and not playing flOw is killing me too being a huge interactive art freak.
 
If I ever go back to a teaching hospital, I'm going to recommend all the surgical residents play flOw to improve their laparascopic surgical technique. It's that good.

What would they announce? Hopefully not a hardware upgrade.

I don't mind too much about a price drop announcement. Most 60GB PS3 on Craig's List (in my are) float around the $400-475.
 
good point... I'm unloading some old crap i don't use as well as selling crap comics I have to gain some extra mula this week.

in the meantime, you new PS3 adopters should get Calling All Cars. that game is getting seriously overlooked and believe it or not, it's probably one of the funnest games I've played...evar. think NBA Jam combined with Mario Kart :)
 
For some reason, it says that my copyright expired when I want to play Calling All Cars.....all the other games on the hard drive work.

I've noticed something about the Virtua Fighter series. I'll play through an extra 2 or 3 times more because I want to beat Dural. It just doesn't satisfy me until I've at least given Dural a run for her money. I also love how Dural has evolved through the series.

I don't like the flame effect for rage mode, but I'll get use to it.

tekkennet with the emblems is superb as well. probably will be used for online on PS3. Looks to be used for clans/teams as well :)

I sure as hell agree. I'm glad he ditched his emo stuff and is now just going into kazuya's shoes. It's also interesting to see how wise and smarter Kazuya has gotten (Tekken 5 proves how smart and decisive he is) while Heihachi has always sort of been the fool ever since tekken 4.

also, don't know if it's been discussed but the characer select screen has 3 blank spots ... either there are 2 random selects or something we don't know.

does anyone else wish 3-D fighting games had regular looking bosses? I'm sort of tired of all the weird looking bosses (ala Alpha 151, Inferno, etc.)

I haven't been excited about a new Tekken game in a while. The blame solely rests on the shoulders of my friends with their beer pong/Tekken 5 all nighters.

man, at my work i was kinda all excited because i thought people played fighting games, so i brought my stick and SF: AE and SF: AC...

turns out everybody just plays SSBM. FFA SSBM with random levels, yet no items.

so even though i'm all fancy with the wave dashing and the shffls and the walltechs... i still lose because of randomness! ugh.

TEKKEN 6 GENERAL INFO

* Live Monitor panel now has touch screen functionality. You can view either the live match or view other matches recorded throughout Japan.
* In T5DR, to be broadcasted on TEKKEN-NET live monitors you had to be Fujin ranked or above. For Tekken 6 it allows lower ranked matches to be broadcasted on the live network.
* Ranking starts at Beginner.
* Rankings will now be international.
* Tekken Teams/Clans can use an original common item.
* Teams/Clans will now be assigned a rank/level.
* You can achieve medals by completing certain tasks. Much like Virtua Fighter 5. For example, get a 15 win streak, receive a 15 win streak medal/reward.
* There are 12 total stages. Some stages are connected to each other. Not all stages will have a linked stage.
* There will still be infinite stages.
* For breakable stages, there are unique combos/juggles you can perform on those stages only.
* Namco does not intend to do minor patches/tweaks to the game(like VF5 does), instead they plan on launching the game and having it as balanced as possible in November.
* The new Tekken 6 arcade board has faster read/load times than Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection.

CHARACTER SPECIFIC INFORMATION

ZAFINA

* d/f+2 is a high crush.

HEIHACHI MISHIMA

* d/f+1,2 (twin pistons) has been removed. Instead the new move is d/f+1 into a new second hit. It no longer launches, it’s more like a hammer fist move that causes knockdown.
* New move similar to Kazuya’s d/f+3, causes unbreakable stun on CH.
* Heihachi has a new low move.
* EWGF, f,f+2, d+1 and hellsweep seem to be the same.

KAZUYA MISHIMA

* Kazuya seems to be the strongest of the Mishimas now.
* Kazuya has a new string, 1,2,4,3. The last kick is mid.
* New move, d/f+3,1
* New move, b+1+2 which is similar to Heihachi’s b+2. Does not stun on CH.
* New mid, mid string. b+1,2.

JIN KAZAMA

* From the limited play time with Jin, there doesn’t seem to be any noticeable changes with his game play.

Just last night, as I was playing an RPG... I played about an hour from my last save point.... then I got an email on my mobile device from someone in Japan with Tekken 6 news... I just stood up and turned off my PS2 in a hurry then walked over to my CPU.... then after the wave of shock and awe when I got the update... I realized I forgot to save in Persona 3....

FIGHTING GAMES > ALL!

I have 3 other buyers for my Supergun (I think), just in case the original buyer doesn't come through tomorrow. Also it sucks how many PS3's don't come with receipts on Craig's List.

So I ordered Garou, NGBC, and Sam Sho: Tenka from Play-Asia. That should give me enough fighting game goodness in between Virtua Fighter 5 games.

I played the 97th ranked person on XBL, GT: *Turtle Power*, Makoto vs. Makoto, and WON my first match against him. he took me on 5 more after that but still...I earned my cookie.

Nice job. I get so unlucky when I play against high ranked people cause if I'm about to win the match they always quit on me. I think I get counted for a win, but my stats or rank don't go up.

Anyways, lets get in some SF 3s matchs tonight. I need to practice with my DOA stick also. :joystick:
