I haven't ordered Sengoku Basara X or KOF 98... waiting for some impressions on the PS2 version of Basara, and I'm also waiting for Initial D to come out before I place a mondo order.

And Jim's right - that Castlevania fighter is going to spread more AIDS than Magic Johnson with a week's supply of viagra.

Konami has a small semi-unknown bunch of rag tag fighting games under it's belt...

They did Martial Champion on PCE CD, TMNT Tournament Fighters, Rakuga Kids, the Rave Master fighting game on GameCube, and hard to find arcade fighter... Dragoon Might.

Konami has also published a few Bloody Roar titles. Some of the team from the Bloody Roar /Rave Master games will be working on this title.

Is this Dragoon Might game any good?
I just want to see konami pull off a fighting game that is actually good. from there they can start to enter competition with all other japanese big names in the fighting game industry... which would be great.

Metal Gear Fighter.
They've never taken a serious stab at fighting games...only one that comes to mind is Martial Champion, which was just another game that tried to cash in on the 2D fighter craze without doing anything good/interesting.

Maybe they've got big ideas for this though...
hmm... now did Konami make that shitty Japanese fighter, Heaven's Gate, as well?

My memory of bad PS1 fighters is stifling.
That was ATLUS ;(

Well...that's a better start than I was expecting. They at least have guys who have made a fighting game before on it. instead of, like, Iga or something.

Srsly, I mean, I said that I expected a bunch of preppy kids with one black kid who might as well be white, and that's exactly what I got.

I ain't a poser though... not everyone from the Ville is a sucka. -_-

Damn, I knew this was gonna happen. Damn wii!

At work I was fantasizing what would happen if it was like 2d HDness and I could see Soma Cruz and Juste Belmont go at it, but then I realized that I live in the real world and that it wasn't going to be 2d or maybe even that good.

Whatever though, I'll fucking buy it! Castlevania has been too good to me to not buy it, much less Konami.

Seems like this game came out for the arcades in Japan recently.

O, you remember when MarkMan was the only one saying that customizations/extra costumes would be in SF IV?

And producer Ono said that they wouldn't?

Thats right.

For some reason I don't like the way Chun-Li looks in SF4.... Maybe she'll look better when I see her in motion on my TV.

Yeah, in Tekken I've always been obsessed with character customization (since 5 at least)...

I am going batshit at how the face scarf bryan has in tekken 6... that looks so badass...

I always had a problem with how freaking hard it was to get most items in VF games, though I loved it when it first started the trend in VF4...

that reminds me, I use to spend hours training my AI character in the original VF4 release >_

I'd be fine with just color customization in SF4. Anything more is great.

Getting some items in VF5 is a bitch for sure. I have all of Aoi's items, and that took me a good week and over 1100 quest mode matches.

My AI Wolf in VF4 was pretty good. I'd train him, then let him fight in quest mode for a while. I think he topped out at 2nd dan.

I still want to get VF5 for 360 badly again... I was in a tight situation in the time I had it and had to sell it... :(

good game.

also, random but cool (MM would know about this...)

thick thighs. fuck yeah.
thick thighs. fuck yeah.
I was thinking the same... I never knew thighs could be so hot till chun-li came into my life. to be honest, I notice them more now.

wish there was some online multiplayer. Its too hard nowadays getting everyone over (married and having kids) for some all-night sessions like we use to.

anyone know how well Guilty Gear Reload runs on the 360?

Street Fighter 4 set to release in Japanese Arcades on July 18th.

http://kotaku.com/5020431/street-fighter-iv-dated-for-arcadesin-japan

Japanese readers, circle it on your calendars in your reddest pen. Anyone outside Japan with a few grand to blow, you've got a date to book your flights to Narita International. Because Capcom has announced that Street Fighter IV will be rolling out to Japanese arcades on July 18. That's less than a month! If you're not Japanese, hey, chin up, kid. Don't let it get you down. Because for Americans, it'll also be available to play at Comic-Con on July 24-27 (Europeans, you're already taken care of)

Also Soul Calibur on XBLA will be released on july 2nd.

o look, capcom finally announced SF IV at comic con...

If anyone is attending I might be at the Capcom booth a LOT... If ya see me there, HOLLA.

http://ggpo.net/blog/

as a matter fact... I think I'ma jump on it in a minute!!

(hope I'm not laggin again tho.... the family gotta stop the late nite downloads >_

i'll be at comic con this year.. not looking forward to big ass lines and crowds for street fighter 4. but whatever, i'll at least get a chance to play. hopefully a winner-stays-on kinda thing?

markman, i might've asked you this forever ago, but what arcades do they play 3s the most? i haven't been back to san diego in a while..

No one really plays in arcades anymore in SD... I'd suggest posting in the SD thread on SRK if you want to get some friendly games in.

:(

But at Comic-Con stop by the SD TEKKEN gaming room, we should have a 3S setup going on in there. I think. lol.
lol, I always wanted to get the Tekken pachislot game... They're on eBay all the time...

One day...
Too bad you can't have it shipped to California. Damn state laws. I would already have like 4 pachislot machines.

maaaaaaaan I had 20 losses last nite

I only won once, and it's coz the dood wanted to switch characters.

3S isnt fun anymore ;_;

Same here. I was planning on ordering them earlier this week but sort of got lazy.

I'm on a week long vacation in Michigan next week, so I probably will order that shit when I get back. Hopefully there aren't any stupid game-breaking glitches (in Sengoku) ala the Japanese version of XX Accent Core.

America's Best Dance Crew is sort of lame this season. There are some entertaining crews but it all feels sort of flat compared to the first season. For some reason I think they are going to keep around the crew with the deaf member as long as they can to keep ratings going.

they can keep the deaf dood as long as they like, that crew is sick.

the thing about the first season was that from the get go ppl were like "Jabba kaba all the way"

this season's cool coz the competition is so high that you cant choose early favorites... like half the crews on there are fluctuating
