is KOF MI2 that much better than the first game? I bought the first one for $20 and traded it in shortly after.

Markman: How much is it for a pass to comic con anyway, and do I have to get a full 4 day one or something? I might come down for it just for fun and be so scared that I never wanna go to a comic con again. Just like AX!


ehhh... SSB64 was too broken for me. I can't even go back to it since it feels so slow... or maybe because I can't wavedash in place. instant spikes, crazy edge guarding, no air evade, super quick powerful throws... man. X_X

SSBM is a great game. It's definitely got more legs than most fighting games now, their bi-weeklies are 50-strong in SoCal. Most other games only get that for major tournies. The system is pretty deep, even if it is a bit of programming luck, no one said that about SF2 and how cancel combos were glitches. =P

Fanboyism sucks, but I love beating the crap out of fanboys. I hear it's the worst with Guilty Gear....
 
i totally missed MI3. hoping to score a copy of 2006 at EB/GS...

asianxcore-- I liked it a lot better. very fun game with lots of modes, more characters, shitload of costumes etc.
 
yeah, Maximum Impact 1 is pretty much unplayable, but MI2/KoF2006 is actually pretty fun and kinda decent. Enough extras and characters to keep it interesting.

so are there any differences between the (import) KOF MI2 and KOF 2006? I'm thinking of whether to import MI2 (or even wait for Reg. A) or get KOF 2006 at EB for $15 this coming weekend

also Jim, if you used MSN more, you'd have an easier time setting up games. I can't stand AIM... or MSN... or messengers... but that's besides the point.

Ehh I'm literally always on AIM (ask Chac). AIM is the easiest and most widely used service, so I think you should use it more.

The Japanese version comes in a slip-case with the KOF: Another Day anime on DVD. The anime has English subs, but the game doesn't.

I think I saw a Greatest Hits version (or whatever SNK calls it) at the store the other day and it DIDN'T come with the DVD.
 
Just saw that the Art of Fighting Collection has just come out... it's got some awesome cover art, if nothing else. Kind of a stealth release.

I'll use my Prime trial to snag a copy at Amazon sooner or later... hopefully they'll drop some other collections on us if this one does ok.

As for the question about KoF 2006, it's not worth more than the $15 EB wants for it, so just pay that. It's a fun game to mess around in but it's not really something you'll be wanting to play all the time.
 
anyone here very familiar with getting PS1 games to play on the PSP?

I know how to do everything and successfully made an eboot out of SFEX2Plus, but the game's graphics glitch out a few seconds into a fight. Please, I need to beat up Vulcano Russo.

Tobal no.1 works pretty well though, just no music in the story mode for some odd reason. :)

I've never played either game in the series, but I would probably pick up Rumble Fish 1 for PS2 if I ever found that cheap. There was a listing on Ebay last week that was really cheap. After emailing the seller though, I realized the reason why it was so cheap was they had to repair a big crack in the hub of the disc.

Rumble Fish 2 only came out in arcades. So the only way to play that would be to obviously pick up a Atomiswave board and RF2 cart.

Rumble Fish is so underrated... I think I'm its only fan.

Snyders are so delicious. I haven't had them for a while though.

I've finally gotten some free time to play games lately now that track and two of my classes are over. I'm trying to get better at MvC.

Nope, not that I know of. Which in the end kind of sucks, since I've read that it's a whole lot better than the first game.

Also I believe Rolento mentioned BLITZKAMPF in the previous fighting game thread. That might've been the reason why no one decided to talk about it. Then again we love going off topic, seriously...ask old rasputin.

So anyone have an overall opinion on if remakes/upgrades/rehashes hurt the fighting industry or help overall? Would it be better if it was just straight sequels?
