Apparently the holidays make me less stubborn. This weekend I managed to order a new computer to replace my 8+ year old one. On top of that I bought a new computer desk to replace the one I have had for probably over 12 years :)
 
I haven't played VF5 in a while because my 360 controller's broken and I don't feel particularly motivated to buy a new one. I am enjoying Mario Galaxy, though.
 
Thanks for the video. Sounds like SFIIHD is gonna turn out nicely. I just hope they nerf Blanka. I'm tired of seeing everyone and their mother use this guy just for some cheap wins. He's especially hard to beat with Zangief. But then, maybe I'm just not that good :)

great game, but I just don't know how or why I can't get into it. After doing everything I wanted (got top rank in quest mainly...) I just traded it in. I do plan to repurchase it down the line.

oh, and I don't care what anyone else thinks of rock band, but Mass Effect has stolen my soul... oddly I'm listening to the soundtrack as I type this. Great throwback to 80s sci-fi.

I'm not degrading myself by picking a freakin' shoto. I'll lose a hundred times before I do that. :nottalking: But seriously I don't/can't use anyone very well besides the Gief. Blanka's just always been my weakness, so of course I want him nerfed/

People pick Blanka all the time online in Hyper Fighting. I've never had much of a problem with Balrog.
 
See, I think the reason that I never played anyone but shotos in SF is coz I never got used to using charge characters. I dunno... I just like being able to do shit right away. Maybe I should look into that.
 
As far as other games and non-shotos, I use Karin along with Guile, Charlie, Vega, and Blanka in Alpha 3, and Urien, Alex, and Remy in Third Strike. I also like to take Gill and demolish the cpu for fun.

Either way, I played as Garuda in Street Fighter EX 3, who was kewl. 2D SF's kinda suck coz they don't got characters that appeal to me.

I will dragon punch blanka into next week if he cheezes me. I have no shame. :p

Guile also worked pretty well against blanka, at least for me and back in the day...

Makes sense. Why keep something around that you probably won't play that much. I really wanted to pick up VF5 for the online, since I wanted to keep my PS3 version. Thing is I have a problem really being interested in a lot of games right now, so I opted not to.

Good to see you are enjoying Mass Effect. I want to try it out sometime soon but I'm not sure yet if I want to buy it or rent it. I have high hopes for the game after the 10 billion hours I put into KOTOR 1.

A local arcade has EX3 and I remember randomly playing it a couple months ago with a friend of mine. Not (Pit Fighter) terrible but enough to make me want to start dry heaving.

We all played shit fighters. Toshinden 3 & Street Fighter EX3 are my guilty pleasures.

I used to play just about any fighter. Zero Divide, the Toshindens, Dual Heroes, Flying Dragon, Fighter's Destiny, Mace : The Dark Ages, and countless others. I'd even play shit ports, like SamSho III on PS1. I've learned my lesson. Guilty pleasure fighting games for me are EX3, any Mortal Kombat especially MK4 (gotta do the long combos followed by bone breakers until the game forces you away from your opponent), and Killer Instinct 1 and 2.

I want a new Weaponlord or Toshinden that looks as good as Soul Calibur IV.
 
who owns the rights to the toshiden license? I know that sony published the first one and Takara did the later ones... even if the game is modernized, I think it would work.

oh and wow... MM that boss is insane!
 
I'm pretty sure Toshinden is still Takara. I'm only saying that cause the last one (Toshinden Subaru) was done by them, and I'd imagine if anyone bought the rights they'd have made a new one by now. I'm surprised they didn't make one within the last generation of gaming. It's too bad cause even though the series didn't evolve very well I think it did alot for fighters than most people give it credit for.

I also played alot of Zero Divide. I remember it had a secret code to unlock the full Phlanax game. That in itself is worth the game.
 
Hard to tell much about Azazel because those videos were hella slow, choppy and grainy(I'm sure it's hard to record an arcade game well, particularly to be posted on Youtube), but he looks pretty badass

Either way, Thanks MM. He looks pretty badass. When's the US street for the game? A Timeout (Namco owned arcade) by my mom's said they're going to get it right away.

Tekken 6 US release(arcade) is scheduled for early 2008 now.

Anyone hoping for 3-D fighters to have NORMAL looking bosses? I know it's probably the opposite of what most people want, but I'm tired of bosses like Inferno (SCII), Alpha 151 (DOA), etc.

Ogre is an exception because well.....Ogre is awesome.

Maybe Soul Calibur Legends is a blessing in disguise. Maybe the game sucks so much that Namco has to release Tekken 6 on the 360 as well to recoup losses. :applause:

OK, I just searched the internet for 5 minutes and I have a question. Does the U.S. version of KOF XI have 480p support? Triangle and X when starting doesn't activate it. The Japanese version definitely has it, so what's the deal?

Also, they need to just give us the ultimate KOF, with every character in it. Then, I can have my dream team of Eiji, K', and Geese. Or Heidern, Tizoc/Griffon, and Shermie. It would be awesome, and no Mugen BS either.

I'm still trying to decide if I wanna get the US version or not (Have Japanese).
 
I was planning on picking up the US version, but unless I get confirmation that there is 480p support, I'm not going to bother. I can enjoy the game just fine with Japanese scribbles, especially if it's in 480p.

I checked the instructions, tried the usual tricks. pretty sure 480p ain't in there.
 
That's stupid as hell. Man... if NBGC turns out the same way... well, hopefully they'll at least fix the damn load times in that thing. If they do that, then I'll get the US version even without 480p.
