Hows King of Dragons on that collection? That was always one of my favorite beat-em-ups.
Runs perfectly, looks good in progressive, it kinda ended out of nowhere on me.

I had the same problems I did with that as I did with Knights of the Round. I stuck with the Wizard / Elf for the whole game, I think.

argh....I want CCC for the 360. it was up on gamefaqs release list for a while, but I guess it was a mistake.

Why release a $20 comp when you piece the games out at $5 each?

Microtransaction killed the compilation star.

Yeah, I hope they keep up the compilations long enough so that I won't have to deal with any microtransactions ever. I'm getting close to that goal.
Okay people, I am breaking in my new 360... I'll be up for some UMK3 games in the very near future!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing some infinites ;)

Sounds good

I played through Knights of the Round... it's actually a pretty good game. It's not as good as Final Fight, but it's not really the same kind of game... this was definietly more Golden Axe than Final Fight. Anyway, I liked some of the concepts like giving you a power attack, being able to ride horses, etc. Overall, I did enjoy it, but I'd definitely rank it below Final Fight and Captain Commando.

Think I'm gonna play some more of the Capcom Quiz... unlocking cheats is fun even though I don't use them.

Might try some Strider later as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing some infinites ;)
Ha ha, not to worry. I was never at the level where I could just bust out infinites on command. Plus, I'm still undergoing the rather drastic adjustment from joystick to a d-pad. So I'll be much easier prey than usual. :D
Sounds like you haven't played it yet....you're in for a surprise :)

Strider still kicks ass to this day.

Believe me, I've played Strider before... a lot. I wanted to see how well it was done on this compilation though and yeah... I'm happy. It's nice to use a functional D-pad to control this game as well.
and yeah, CCC2 is fucking sweet

BLACK TIGER fuck YEAH
Hey I also got it at Target on Black Friday for $10. I've been playing it all weekend and CCC2 is awesome. So far I have finished Black Tiger, 1941, Eco Fighters, Knights of the Round, King of Dragons, Street Fighter, Strider, and the Capcom Quiz that opens up the cheats. As far as I an tell Digital Eclipse did a damn near perfect job emulating the games. They also included a three slot save feature so you can save any of your games at any part of the game which should come in handy when I try to beat all 50 levels of Magic Sword. It already helped me big on Black Tiger. Playing Strider for my first time in over a decade and I was able to complete it without using any continues, it was like riding a bike, you don't forget how to beat all the levels. Digital Eclipse was also responsible for Sega Genesis Collection which was the game I was playing before this one came out.

Let's hope that somehow in CCC3 they can work a deal to put out games that had licenses, like Aliens vs. Predator, Willow, and X-men Children of the Atom.

I've only finished the Capcom Quiz, Three Wonders (the GnG style game), and Knights of the Round. I'll play through Captain Commando when I'm home again (this weekend.) I was also playing Sega Genesis Collection right before this and Digital Eclipse deserves a damn medal... they absolutely nailed these.

As for CCC3, if Capcom negotiated and got licenses to stuff like Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, AVP, etc. (which really shouldn't be that hard since the games were already produced), I would gladly pay $100 for it. Yes, I like those games that much. As long as we see more CPS2 stuff though, I'm happy. Capcom sure knew how to make 'em back in the 90's and the fact that these games are still entertaining as hell now is astounding.

I would do the same thing. Aliens vs. Predator is my favorite beat em up of all time. To finally have it on a console and on my TV would be a dream come true. I was baffled to why this game never came out on the Saturn or N64 (I figure PS1 limited 2-D would have made it impossible). Man the quarters I spent in college playing AvP arcade and X-men vs. Street Fighter.

awww shit, it was $10 at Target? I would've fought the crowd for that.

I'm trying to forget my PS2 right now, but all this talk about CCC2 makes it tough.

tried not accumulate a huge backlog this winter, but failed miserably.

Target wasn't that bad at all on Friday. I got there 15 minutes after they opened and all the check out lines were being used. Getting the game was easy because all the glass display cases were unlocked and self serve. By far the best game I have ever bought for $10 since Doom 3 last year.

An added bonus is that the game is progressive scan for the PS2. So currently its the only version of Street Fighter 2 that I have that plays in 480p.

Heheh... fool kid is trying to play a Saturn with an N64 controller.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to match the insane level of awesome that your cake achieved. It will be a standard cake, but quite delicious nonetheless.

If paypal accepted GG Isuka as currency, I'd send it to you right away jiffy!

I'll think of something... I may possibly think about sending out some random stuff to everyone in the fighter thread for the sake of really respecting everyone's friendship here :)
sounds like Double Dragon will be hitting XBLA... YESS!!!!

Here's hoping it starts a good trend of beat-em-ups on XBLA... works great with online co-op.
Oh man, that is freaking awesome. I wonder if it will be a direct Arcade port or the expanded GBA version that Atlus published a few years back. BTW, Double Dragon Advance was awesome, too bad two player co-op isn't very accessible. The classic Double Dragon soundtrack was redone and updated to take advantage of the better sound chip. I hope the XBLA version retains or improves on Double Dragon Advance.

It makes the most sense for this to be the arcade version... I'm sure DD Advance is exclusive to Nintendo and MS seems to be going for the arcade versions of all the games they've put on XBLA rather than console or portable versions.

on that note: XBLA sorely needs some River City Ransom.

I still can't find a freakin' copy of Capcom Classic Vol 2 for X-Box. I don't think it exists. My local EBs and Gamestops don't even carry the PS2 version. The only place I saw it was at Target.

on topic, sorda-- cant say I'm too excited for double dragon. If I get XBL points for Xmas, I'll pick it up. If it doesn't have some sucky fatal glitch.

okay, on topic 100%-- the gamecube version of CvS2 isn't half bad with the Hori pad.

That is the funniest shit I've seen today.

As for CVS2... I really wanna try playing that again since I loved it when I was playing it last year.
Happy Birthday, Chacrana!

Anybody know where I can find a cheap DOA stick for the 360? My wife's getting me a 360 for Christmas.:D
Good luck at this point.

The stick has long since been out of production, and as only EB / GS / and I think Gamecrazy ever carried it they've sold off what they had by now, I assume. The stick used to fetch over $100 on Ebay once Street Fighter 2 came out but prices have lowered (but not by much). The stick usually runs on average of $70 - $90 it looks like.

Markman once posted of a different Hori stick coming to Xbox 360 but I haven't heard anything since then.

So, pretty much the only way to get it "cheap' ($40 retail) is to stumbled upon some EB / GS in the middle of nowhere that hopefully still has one for sale, because this thing was "Ebay seller hot item of the month" this summer.

It was birthday a week ago, I forgot to tell you guys, then maybe I could've gotten some wierd links too. But I did get Neo Geo BC for PS2 & a Wii system. Maybe I was to preoccupied with that to give it any thought.
I've seen part of the anime for Jojo... it's testosterone filled just like FOTNS is.
the action figures were too awsome: one toy's action feature was crotch armor!

oh, and happy late B-day Rodimus! I'm suer you're learning how some NGBC characters are nerffed and some are overpowered... but it;s still a fun game.

Yeah, I know all about the rush to EBs to get them at $40. I was hoping there might be a couple around at a reasonable price, like say, $50-$60.

Back to the Capcom Classics Collections for a sec, Rodimus's sig just reminded me....what about the Dungeons and Dragons games???

Were those on an earlier CC Collection already or is that something else we can hope for with volume 3??

I'm pretty psyched to pick up CCC volumes 1 and 2 and the Genesis collection when I'm home for x-mas!

Capcom won't pay to use the license again, I bet.

Sorry, those aren't available unless you buy it for Sega Saturn or get them on some emulation stuff. King of Dragons is sorta like the D&D arcade games. And that's on the CCC vol.2.

You won't find the DOA stick at EB. They were recalled. I asked because I was hoping to get lucky and find one since the Tekken sticks floated around so long before being sold.

Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2 is probably the best $20(or $10 for you lucky BF'ers) spent on the PS2 right now.

A nice strat video by NKI and Dave Sirlin as well.

It's a great resource for those just starting out on ST, heck it's a great resouce in general.

And Happy belated Birthday to RD as well!
