Jekki what arcade in socal has guilty gear accent core? I"ve been looking for some competition but didn't know any arcades around here had it. Last place I went to was arcade infinity, to play some slash
Family in Granada Hills has it on head to head j-cab with Sanwa parts.

I'ma go tonite to hopefully see if some comp shows up
I would avoid this like the plague. It's fucking unplayable :bomb::bomb::bomb:
Which handset do you have it on? On my SE710 I have no problem pulling out Zangief's Spinning Pile Drivers or Honda's Hundred Hand Slaps.

It takes a bit to get used to the controls, but it's the best portable version you'll get (better than Alpha 3 on the PSP).

Mark, that Arcana Heart stick looks HEAVENLY.
bah, no love for Verizon with that Capcom mobile stuff. :whistle2:(
Hm? Street Fighter II and Mega Man II are live on Verizon.

The website is only the downloader for the JAVA versions, since AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile use Java. The Verizon builds are BREW, so you'll have to download it through accessing the Verizon Get-It-Now games menu with your handset.
I have the lg env and I couldn't pull off anything on the phone's keys
I agree that it takes some practice to get used to the controls being transferred to mobile handset controls.

The LG EnV is one of the best handsets for SFII, control-wise. The keys are mapped out as close to arcade-perfect as possible and playable with both hands, the left controlling movement and the right controlling attacks with the six attack buttons.

Just play it a bit more and once you understand the mechanics of the controls, fireballs and spinning pile drivers would be no problem. Refer to the help text to figure out how the QWERTY keypad is mapped.
I've been told the Fighting thread is the best place to be on CAG.

So...yo.
depends on what you want, need, and whatever the hell is currently going on... currently nothing interesting, so I'll post some random stuff from the upcoming KoF card game and Sam Sho card game that can be played with SC, SF, Darkstalkers, and Penny Arcade (?):
that jenet art is awesome! would you happen to know where i can find the unedited version of that?
wish I knew... good luck though since it's exclusive for the card game, it'll be hard to find it not on the card.

Fellow fighting game freaks...

I just got home from my media week duties... I hate LA traffic...

BUT

I love fighting games, so I'm staying up all night watching this stream:

http://www.famitsu.com/tougeki07final_scvftk/scvftk.asx

You should too.

Super Battle Opera is going on NOW!

SCIII: Arcade Edition, Virtua Fighter 5, and Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection will be shown live on that stream as the tournaments progress....

I bought a new arcade stick while in LA!
I've been told the Fighting thread is the best place to be on CAG.

Word. One of the few reasons why I haven't left CAG. Welcome.

Yea I'm with Chac, I dunno about that stick. I'll no doubt be picking up Arcana Heart in October though.
I hope you guys are watching this shit! Tekken matches are nuts!
good stuff.

oh and US Draglade trailer... it's now known to be wifi enabled :)
WOW They showed a HQ version of the T6 trailer!
took them long enough >_<

Tekken 6 is basically supposed to be played in HD, and it takes em a while to do it... damn.

side note... GGII Overture is a prequel to the GG games... it takes place during the holy wars when Sol was part of the order (monks) thus the use of Order Sol. The game is like a RTS CTF where I think the flags are the head generals of your opposing army...

Hate to be pessimistic but that game has "WORST GAME EVER CANDIDATE" written all over it (GGII:O)
good stuff.

the gameplay sounds great....such generic style though. right down to the ultra corny j-pop-punk.
I'll probably check it out eventually (just a black ds lite for $50, score. bought it for Ninja Gaiden and Planet Puzzle League :) )

I'm guessing no one stayed up late to watch SBO? -_-

Today is Hyper Street Fighter Anniversary , 3S, and kof98!

Ordered the $50 arcade stick. Came to $63 CDN Shipped, which is hawt. The other one that was reccomended to me would cost me around $180 CDN.
And its my first one, If I like it, maybe I'll get the other one at some point.

If anyone wants to get T5DR Online from the HK store, they have a full English version option out now...
SWEET! Don't you need a HK credit-card or something though? If not, would it be fine with the US version of the game? And if its unacessable, hopefully it'll be here soon.

In Tekken 5: DR, I've been working with Eddy, Steve and Anna.
Markman, I need combos for these guys for my new stick (and in the mean time if you can, PS3 controller combos :D )

the combos are the same ;)

Yea! Just make sure you learn the legend! It's really easy...

Directions are easy enough to understand... the only conventions you need to know are....

N = Neutral
1 = Square
2 = Triangle
3 = X
4 = Circle

And various other things such as CH(counter hit), WS(while standing; also referred to as while rising), SS(sidestep)... etc...

I can help you with whatever(I can use every character pretty much), but I suggest you pick one character first to work with them work from there... so who will it be?

I know, but I didn't know what 1,2,3,4 etc. were.

And Markman, I'm the best with Eddy (He's also my favourite) so I'll take him please :D

Oh yeah, another question Markman (or anybody):
Does T5: DR Online have any info on character usage? Or do you know a site or something? I'm just wondering the most/least popular characters are.
EDIT: Don't want to triple post, so does anybody have a good Eddy avatar?

While I don't know if there are any online resources that show how popular characters are, there are some links on my site under the T5DR section that show the character rankings(strongest to weakest) based on Japanese top players.... Check it out:

http://sdtekken.com/t5dr/arcadia-tier-ranking-january-2007/

It lists the order and each character's good and bad matches...

--

As for Eddy, that's good to know you're using him! He is one of my MAIN characters and I enjoy using him a lot...

As for juggles I'll give you a few that I think are essential to playing Eddy...

NON CH
d/f+2, f+3+4 (only guaranteed from close/mid range)
d/f+2, f,f, QCF+3(always guaranteed, if they try to get up or move at all after being knocked down Eddy gets a free b+3,3, RLX 3 as the QCF+3 will do a slight refloat to pick them back up).

ON CH
d/f+2, f,f, 1, b+3,3, RLX 2,f+3

STANDARD JUGGLES
d/f+3+4, d/f+1, d/f+1,1, 1,2,4~4 *
d/f+3+4, b+3,3, RLX 2,f+3 *
RLX 4~3, wait, RLX 1,4,4,3+4, d/f+3+4~D (last move hits grounded)

*These combos also work after RLX 3~4

Try to get those down... that's just his juggles, his poking/pressure game is pretty in depth... hopefully I'll get to show it to you if we play online...

hmmm. I am mad at my internet connection last night... the video stream for SBO was getting too choppy. Little that I saw I loved... thx for the megaupload link... Ill download in a bit.

Ok, so one thing to clarify... d/f+2 means down diagonal while hitting 2(triangle at the same time, then doing forward,3 and 4 all at the same time?

yes... d/f+2 = the diagonal between down and forward and 2 at the same time... then followup with forward direction and both kicks... :)

I heard the Wolfe Bros. were scheduled for some matches of AE at SBO. Is that true? I would love to see those vids.

Also I learned today not to talk about fighting games on CAG outside of the Fighting Game Thread. It makes me shake my head and fight off urges to come off as an elitist jerk.

Never again.

lolol... I don't mind being an elitist jerk because if what I know/learn is elitist in regards to fighting games, I don't want that to change...

GO AHEAD AND PLAY VS CPU YOU SCRUBZZZZZZZZZZZ!

!!!!!!

The Wolfe bros. did well! They made it to the round before the top 4... so they got a joint 5th place with 3 other teams...

So FAR, they are the only US team at SBO that didn't get destroyed first round...

We still have US players reppin' for us in Arcana tomorrow... and 3S which is starting... NOW!

there's a big diff between being an elitist jerk and just being knowledgeable/competitive/passionate/hella good with a game

i don't think markman's an elitist jerk at all.. just a real knowledgeable player who likes to share real knowledge.. he ain't being a jerk, some people just can't accept that someone could know this shit without a personality drawback

it's like this misconception i have about otakus.. sometimes i feel like they're just weakass japanophiles who bust a nut over anything written in katakana, when that isn't true at all.. they're just pussies who wear funny hats

JUST KIDDING, JEEZ

Kris!! Where have you been? Hopefully you haven't dropped out of fighting games. I've been trying to hit up MGL to meet up with Dan and the rest of the Rosa Crew as much as I can. You should go out there some time.

Nice! Alex Wolfe's Dhalsim is a sight to see.

Also you guys are right about the whole elitist thing. I don't fly around threads on CAG putting up like I know anything about RPG's....because well I don't. Fighting games are a different story, I love 'em to death, but I guess thats why I'm always in this thread :)

Having to read someone honestly say on CAG the Xbox version of MVC2 is just as good as the DC version, made me slap my forehead about 100 times.

OMGWTFBBQ?!?!!!!

Anyhow, for those not following the link, it leads to a PS2 game called "World Heroes Gorgeous". I imagine it's just SNK/Playmore's World Heroes compilation but here's hoping it's something new. Off to google!

EDIT - Nevermind, it's just the WH compilation. Silly name. I'll still be getting it but perhaps waiting for a drop or a US release would be prudent.

tell that to Chac.

LOL! yea that's the first thing I thought when watching it live last night... OMG Taizo (#1 Feng in Japan) is a Cheap Ass Gamer!
