[quote name='Apossum']Markman (or anybody)-- got any good beginner strats with Xiaoyu? The best combo I can do is this (hopefully I note it right): u,3 (side step sweep), d+2 (launching uppercut to backward stance), 2,2,2,1, then f+f +1+ 2, 1+2 (don't always land the cross chop hits.)
I want to learn more about her pokes that interrupt moves (the b+1, b+2 moves), as well as how to use rolls and cartwheels to evade and all that good stuff. I can't find a pattern to when you can dodge and when you can't.
also, I think you posted a vid a while back where you did uf+1+2, which bounced them on a counter, then you somehow stomped them with f+f+3+4...am I remembering that right? anyway, it looked damn cool

Here are a few combos for Xiaoyu's SS+3...
SS+3, b+3, RDS 2, RDS 2,1, f,f+1+2,1+2 (NOTE: This juggle angle is very strict, it has to be straight up or the ender/b+3 will whiff).
Here is a more consistent one...
SS+3, f,f+3, RDS 2, RDS 2,1, f,f+1+2,1+2 or you can do SS+3, f,f+3, RDS 2, RDS 2~2, RDS d+3 or RDS f,f+3 after it spikes them down on the ground...
Basically with Ling, you must have good knowledge of the other characters to be successful... know when you can AOP (d+1+2) and when you can use b+1 or b+2 to interrupt strings... She is a very tricky character and can be deadly in the right hands...
If you're going to use SS+3 and they end up blocking your sweep or crushing it a lot, mix it up.. SS 1+2 (same as 1+2 but with a SS) is really good... after it hits on normal hit 4~3 flip is guaranteed and does a good chunk of damage.
Xiaoyu's main whiff(when the miss a move in front of you) punisher is d/f+2~1... after you land d/f+2~1 go for the following juggle:
d/f+2~1, 1,d+2, RDS 2, RDS 2,1, f,f+1+2,1+2
If you're not used to the dash required to land XMTS(X Marks The Spot/f,f+1+2,1+2) in juggles, you should go for this combo instead:
d/f+2~1, 1,d+2, RDS 2, RDS 2~2, RDS d+3
If you use AOP as a mixup on people make sure you use AOP 4~3 low sweep and AOP u/f+3 (launches on hit)... You can even make AOP u/f+3 safe by doing u/f+3,1 or u/f+3,4 if you know your opponent is going to block it...
Pressure with SS+4 and d+4 (generic low kick) and throw out f,f+3~B a lot... on CH f,f+3,4 is gauranteed and leads to a meaty juggle opportunity...
I'd be able to show you this online when you guys get it, I can explain it on paper but it's probably much better visually...
