I know some people didn't like it, but I thought it was pretty good. Definitely worth it at this price. If my back log wasn't so heavy, I'd buy it on 360 to replay it.

Woah this was exactly what I was going to post.

Nice deal with prime. Am I the only one who has this game sitting in their backlog ? I've had it for two months on my shelf. And after infamous 2 ill play prince of Persia 2008 so it will be a longer wait to play this

It's really not a bad game like so many people say. Sure, it starts off slow and is pretty linear for most of the game, but the story really draws you in as it goes on and it has a great battle system. Probably my second favorite battle system in the FF series, after FFX.

I didn't really care for 12, and I liked 10, will I like 13?
I wanna know if I'll finish it, because I have FF 1,2,3,5,7,8,10, and 12, and I've only beat 1, and 7. I'm replaying 10 now but idk if I should pick up 13?

Are the achievements hard?

Just don't sell any important items (no self-respecting RPG player sells items without knowing their true value), read up on weapon-forging techniques on gamefaq, and prepare to do a bit of grinding. Otherwise, the trophies aren't missable. The platinum comes at 100+ hrs, got mine at 120-something, so time is also a factor. The main storyline finishes at 40 hrs, but the sidequests will eat up a lot more of your time. Anyway, for less than $20, FFXIII is a must-buy, even if it is admittedly not comparable in scope to previous FFs.
you would rather take your chances for 1 dollar and buy the like new one?
Hoping for black label instead of the ugly red case that all the new ones come with.

Does anyone have a link of the infamous red case?
@Koei, I would buy the Like New one but that's just me. I enjoy saving money with Amazon. I'm buying one tomorrow =)

The game has non essentialflaws, but the quality and worksmanship is top-notch. At16.99 it's a steal. This game, IMHO, should be priced around 29.99 and stay there. Sorta like Lost Odyssey, it still keeps a high price ($28).

If you dont believe me and dont wanna take a chance, just rent it and see for yourself. Hope this comment helps someone.

Has anyone ordered this game recently from Amazon? I want to order another copy, but I don't want a Greatest Hits version, so I'm interested to know if Amazon is already sending out those ugly red boxes

I read a post a while back (May I believe) and someone got it red. It depends on the distribution center. If you do get the one you did not want, simply exchange it at the nearest store.

If you liked the old Final Fantasy games but not 12, then no. Odds are you won't like it. 13 is way more of a linear corridor run than 10 was. If you were annoyed by 12's lack of control over other characters in your party, that's nothing compared to how bad the battle system is in 13.

I don't know, different people have different tastes, which is why there is always dispute on what is the "rankings" of the FFs. There's always "FFIX was the best" and "I hated FFIX", so and so forth. I personally enjoyed most of them besides FFXII (never tried XI), the battle system was too different and lacked impact and cohesiveness.

It's mostly a matter of time (you're looking at 90-100 hours for 1000 GS), but there is some amount of skill and strategy involved.

It's not flawless, but it's ultimately an extremely engaging and fun game. I actually enjoyed the postgame content, where the story recedes into the background and the battle mechanics come to the fore in some really tough and strategic fights, somewhat more than the campaign itself. The battle system in the game is really a wonder, one of the best in the series, but it takes until almost the very end of the game that the mobs get challenging enough to let the mechanics really shine.

If people want the original case then just get it at gamestop. It's used for 17.99 right now and you can knock down the price even more with your power up card and use a discount coupon with your points. They have a lot of copys with the non gh case available

I REALLY want to get into the game, right now I'm at
that little airship thing, rescuing Vanille and Sazh? To be honest; I haven't played the game long enough for like 3 months to even know what's happening)
But some of it is so f****g boring and tedious. But I hear it gets much better in the later half??

Am I the only one who likes the red cases ? They are Much better than the ps2 ones. It would be cool though if they were see through red cases like the way bluray movies have that see through blue

I don't mind the red boxes. They are infinitely better than the PSX-era cases with the lime green stripe.

That sounds like chapter 9... chapter 11 is where it "opens up" and you get to free explore a bit, do missions, and so forth :)

$16.99 is a GREAT price for this game, in my opinion. If you hate linear corridor games though, stay away as the first 20 hours of the game involve it.

Ewwwwwww I member that ugly green. But since it was Sony's first console ill give them a pass. Have you seen the Europe ps3 gh cases with the puke yellow ? Lmao now that case is bad !

I have xiii for 360, is it crazy that I'm wondering if it's worth to pick it up again for ps3?

Thought I heard a while back it looks a lot better on ps3.

It looks better in pretty much all aspects on ps3, but maybe not to such a degree where it looks like a console generation ahead or anything. 360 has a lower resolution as well as badly compressed videos. This also introduces other problems that aren't there or as bad as on ps3 because of that resolution reduction. Overall everything just looks cleaner and crisper on ps3, versus an actual graphical boost you might see going from a console to pc version of the game. It's visible but might not be truly apparent without having played both, being that discerning, or a side by side.

At times the ps3 version has a worse framerate however. Frame drops mainly hit in engine driven cutscenes on face close ups or during large effects, most of the regular gameplay has a steady 30fps. They're usually very short and not heavy drops(not like teens) but the 360 does run smoother in those instances, probably owing to the resolution.

Since you already have it...I don't know if I'd buy it again. Buying the ps3 one and unloading the 360 copy for like 8 or 10 bucks, whatever you can get, might be worth it if you want however.
Nice find. I'd totally pick it up if I don't already have it for both the ps3 and xbox, I enjoyed the game and I'd recommend it to people.
Same here. Own it for both systems and I enjoy the X360 version better, thanks to the smoother frame rate. Can't really tell about the resolution difference as it looks good to me on both systems. Great price too!

While the differences in gameplay graphics between 360 and PS3 may be minor, the FMVs are a noisy, macro-blocked mess on 360. Just an awful encoding job, even allowing for the fact that they had less space to work with.

This is the most boring and most grueling final fantasy, possibly even game, i've ever played. I would not recommend anyone get this, I vowed to never buy another final fantasy after this bad bad game.

Picked this up at mckays for 9.99 and i can't believe i didn't buy this when it came out, instead i did the sheep thing to do and go by other peoples opinions.

16.xx is a great price for it, fantastic game.
