Oooh, you reminded me I've got a GS $25 credit, think I'll use it. $5 out of pocket is too hard to resist, even though I hate GS!
1st DOTD and I'm in. You know it's coming, and I can wait.
I'm with both of you here; although I may be starved for a decent RPG, but I'll be broke ass for at least a couple months.
I heard this game was super easy. Waiting to hear some CAG thoughts on this once the game comes in.
It is Final Fantasy IV. It isn't that it is super easy, most of us have just played this game before. We know what each boss can do, what their weakness is, and what level to be at certain points.

(I'm already falling into my pattern of Level xxx at xxx point, remove equipment from so and so before they leave at xxx point etc.)

Some truth, but the DS remake was frustrating at some points, especially the Rubicante fight. And that's coming from a guy who's beaten the game 21 times across 4 platforms.

The DS version was so full of bullshit it wasn't funny. It was like they were giving the finger to all of us that played it before.

"Oh going to hit the Earth Fiend with fire eh? Well he'll just hit you wtih all the negative status effects. SUCK IT!"

No this is actually FFIV. It isn't FFIV Super Difficult Screw You Version.
Question is does Reflect work on bahamut in this version?
I just got to Damcyan so got awhile before I can answer that question.

those waiting for a price drop is missing out..

the game has a DLC for that FF fighting game code goes for 10 to 25 bucks on ebay.. like paying 20 or less now and it comes with some sort of playing cards (at least mine did)

Wait, there was a DS version? I guess you do learn something new everyday...

Eh encouter rate doesn't bother me, just helps level and gold. I needed it to get some $$ last night. I'm heading up Mt.Ordeals now to become a Paladin. (needed 1k to get that Pal armor before I Started up)

The DS version was crazy hard, but worth playing once if you're a fan i think.

For 20 years, I pronounced it "C-Sill", only to find out it's pronounced "Sess-Sill"

So I learned something too.

I sold it after I played it.

Don't feel bad. I was the same way.

I do wish the PSP version had the voice acting. You'd think the PSP being a more powerful system could have worked that in.

I got to the Dark Dragon in the DS version. After about five rapings I gave up.

When 3rd Birthday came out I saw no auctions for Lightning costume. So there are auctions now for that & Warrior of Light?

Yep here is one that ended last Sunday for $29 for the Lightnign Costume.

Here is the Knight of Twin Moon going for $15.

I'm really regretting using my Tifa DLC, darn thing is going for $81

I've seen at least one auction for the Lightning costume that sold for $30. So dumb.

probally the same people who pay 25 to 35 for the yu gi oh cards that come packed in with the games

i been selling the yu gi oh stuff for years and ending up with the game for 5 or 10 bucks

Blasphemy! I'm gonna call Square and tell them they got it wrong.

So def can see some redesign in Paladin Cecil. No longer do we have the gold armor, multi-colored hair of days past. He is along the lines of the Dissidia version, very blue/silverly.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing to you? I thought his design in Dissidia was kinda.....girly

It feels a bit bland actually colorwise. Here is his actual in battle sprite. Least it doesn't have the long hair.

That actually doesn't look too bad....though the hair design for it now looks like Firion's hair from FF2

Just got the game last night, and transformed cecil a few moments ago into a paladin. Liking this version a lot so far, reminds me of the GBA game in difficulty.

i thought someone said you could play the after years in anyorder.. dont see a way to pick differnt parts (thought i just started and just a hour into the first chapter)

Assuming it's the same as the WiiWare version, you had to play the first chapter, then you can choose any other chapters you'd like. I think some characters are required for the prologue, but if you don't have save data for their chapter it just starts them at a set level.

I just finished up the first fight with Rubicant and going to get the last Dark Crystal. I need to find a good grinding place to level up enough to get Reflect and Float spells so I can hit up some of the side quests before I progress. (level 33 or so now)

Most people just grind in the area leading to the Feymarch, which is what I'm about to do, too, just beat Rubicante.

So this game is pretty good then? I've never played any version of it.

I'm considering getting it, but I have a Go so gotta wait for PSN.

Dude FFIV freaking rules.

I HOPE the gameplay is tweaked like the original SNES 'easy' release, as I thought that was a lot more fun than the Japanese version grindfest...more strategic too, ironically.

Dang, I seriously want it but keep forgetting to order...maybe I'll do that in a few minutes here.

I only had to grind once so far in 13 hours of play and that was only because I wanted to go get Leviathan and Asura before I went into the Sealed Cave. (So had to get from 33-36 to get Reflect)

I know that there is always copies on online retailers websites. What local physical retailers have you all seen this game at/purchased Final Fantasy IV Complete from?

I know Gamestop has this and probably Best Buy, but has anyone seen this at other stores like their Toys R Us or Target? I know Kmart is not carrying this.

Picked this up at Best Buy. I was going to wait for a DotD, but I had a BB Gift card, so I figured it would be about the same price.

Will play this after LoH: TitS

Is there any reason to pick up the DS version of FFIV over this one? Besides the Interlude portion and having already purchased / played the After Years on the Wiiware.

I never played this game before, how is this compared to chrono trigger?

I am debating whether to start this game or 3rd bday?

Is this game as good as xenogears, lunar, grandia?
