Final Fantasy Tactics A2

Hey are there a lot of missable items in this game? If there is one thing I hate in RPGs, it is missing items. I remember in FFTA you had to get the Cinqueda very early in the game (it's rare early in the game but common later) in order to get the steal ability skill. You then had to use it to steal the steal weapon skill. Otherwise you would miss some cool weapons that could only be stolen early in the game.

I had to play that game with a faq most of the time to maximize my inventory of weapons. I'd prefer it if they were more lenient here.

Nothing is missable, all quests come back around if you miss/fail them.

One item the Shining loot, there is an easy way to get and a very time consuming way to get. Look up light lute at gamefaqs, or just search the word lute.
If you guys want good weapons, one word.

AUCTIONS. Seriously you can get AWESOME shit early on.
QFT.

You can get majority of best weapons/skills on auctions. Plus, winning the auctions isn't that hard to do. All you need is fulfill the bonus to get 5 point chips and try to remain a champion on one area to get one free chip or you can buy chips with your clan points(which can be easily max out with recycle quests). The AI is incredibly stupid when it comes to auctions. I seen 8 opponents with 50 of every chip(1,2,3,5). Surprisingly, they only use one point chip or skip during the whole 4 set rounds.

Nothing missable except the light lute. You can get the first light lute when you can fly to another world (via by airship) then complete a few quests. Hurdy(moggle) will ask you to build an instrument. Don't build an instrument yet, go to SamtDalasa Buff, you will see a quest pop up(I forgot the name). Afterwards, craft an A rank item instead of B rank item. I don't know the location for the second light lute.

I'm almost finished with this game. Now I have over 250+ quest complete by using dispatches more frequently.

I'm at 23 hours, 57 quests completed. i haven't dispatched much, i think I've had 2 not fail so far, so I've been doing them manually and doing most of the optional missions that come up between each story mission.

the variety in missions is much better than FFTA. Sure they are all similar in some way or another, but by this time in FFTA I was feeling the burn of grinding.
What kind of different mission objectives do you get?
Kill all enemies, stay alive a certain amount of time, escorts, one ive seen so far was a quiz on game knowledge, place items around the map, search for a certain single item on the map. There are some cooking missions where you get hints and have to kill a certain amount of one specific enemy type and turn it in.

There's dispatch missions where it hints at a specific class to send to complete it. Delivery missions which are just go to a few towns and take stuff from point a to b. there are geographical missions where you have to visit so many locations in so many turns.

Speed challenges where you have to kill something before the other clan does.

Lots of ongoing branching sidemissions also that continue specific side stories through multiple steps. I'm only 57 quests in, and i've seen a big variety.

I believe double hand is holding a 1-handed weapon with two hands, increasing attack power. I think two-hand is the one where you dual wield weapons.

I don't have the game yet however, but I'm thinking of the first one. I imagine someone here will correct me if I'm wrong though.

Also, like I said before, get a Master Monk ASAP. They do incredible damage in close quarters, and with an additional White Monk skills like Air Render and Chakra and Revive, they are deadly.

What are the reqs and when do you unlock them? Iv used White Monks quite a bit but not gotten the Master Monk yet. White Monks rock in the mean time though.

There's a quest. Watch out, it's not as easy as it looks: keep in mind to keep the monks far away, because close range = :(
I got this game from goozex (brand new). is there anything I should know about the game? Are there any secrets stuff?
You can't miss anything so dont feel too bad.

Got this at GS this morning and I've been playing it for the past few hours. I'm at my friends house, since I got to take a placement test soon for my university, f*ckers only take the one I took last year for one year, so I gotta retake it and waste another morning of sleep on it. nvm that part...

But how is this compared to the psp tactics? I am liking this one pretty much, I like it as much as I did the original one at this point. I am getting a psp soon, when my blue one comes in, and was wondering if i should pick it up since the GS coupon ends tomorrow.

PSP FFT should pretty much kick all sorts of ass. I had the original PS1 version, but it shouldn't be that different. There's supposed to be slowdown in the PSP version, but the revamped localization, extra character slots, new secret characters and FMVs should outweigh it IMO.

Question: My blue mage. He has learn. (and mastered). Basically, to learn abilities these monsters have to use the learnable ability on him, correct? Since "Learn" is passive, he can be any job class as long as he has "Learn" on.. correct again?

I am up to 250/300 missions complete. wonder if the final 50 will take as long as i expect, I am already up to 80 ish hours played.

Couple questions. Trying to turn my sniper into an assassin but can't find any weapons that grant elmentist action abilities. Would swords have those or is it rods. Also I have a master monk but i can't find any equipment to grant abilities what should i be looking for?

correct. In the last game, my main guys job was fighter with blue mage as secondary.

Rapiers are the only thing that have elementalist abilities. Not sure about master monks, as I haven't unlocked them yet. My guess would be knuckles, but I could be wrong.

Not sure you'd really want to be a blue mage anyway, as their stats kind of suck. I'm having a hard time getting some of the skills though, I think I only have Magick Hammer and War Dance at the moment. Don't have enough of the Beastmaster weapons to gain the other skills yet.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more about this game, I am thoroughly enjoying it. Probably have about 50~ quests done with 20 hours in with a lot more to go. I seriously wouldn't be surprised if I surpass the 100 hour mark.

One thing I really dislike about the Advance versions is that you can't rotate the battlefield. The story is much more childish in comparison to the PSP version. That being said... I've played FFT for all systems and the PSP version (aside from the slowdown) is easily the best. The story, characters, settings, etc is great. The DS/GBA versions are fun but still not as deep as the PS1/PSP versions.

I'd recommend beating the DS version before even starting the PSP version. Once you start War of the Lions I'd imagine it'll be hard to go back to the DS one.

Quick question about the end of the game

So after completing my game I notice the save file has my characters a few levels in the past. Is this because I didn't depower all of the crystals when the final boss used rewind?
