I don't understand your chart. Far as sales go didn't the wii out sale both of them? Also you need a chart to show off the hardware/failure rate. The 360 would take 99 percent of the chart for the failure rate.

It's not like I picked the 7 highest ranked games, I picked the 7 highest games that I thought I would like. Like I said, I didn't play VC because the demo wasn't for me, I'm not a fan of that genre. I love shooters (Res1, Res2, KZ2), I liked the Tomb Raider games (Uncharted), huge Metal Gear fan, loved the Ratchets on PS2, and LBP is just brilliant.

Those comments may have sounded fanboyish, but I just think PS3 owners owe it to themselves to play through games like Mass Effect, Fable 2, L4D, etc. same as 360 owners owe it to themselves to play through MGS4 and grab some co-op LBP action.

As for the $600 thing, I still stand by that. Resistance was billed as a killer app for this SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR console, and I thought the game sucked. OPINION.

OPINION.
PDZ was built as the Killer app (getting a 9.0 at GameSpot, 8. something on IGN, etc.) and it was the worst FPS ever IMO. It wasn't worth spending $400 on a new console just to get that game (CoD2 doesn't count since it was on PC) or try paying a high eBay price for one either. But that's my opinion too, just like how you stated your opinion. Most launch games are rated too highly any generation (As much as I like Tekken for an example, I felt some reviewed TTT way too high on PS2 launch).

Keep in mind people didn't have to spend $600 to get a PS3 at launch, because the 20GB only lacked WiFi, card readers, and had a smaller HDD at $500 (although the 360 core was $300, it didn't have a HDD which is critical to online gaming and stuff).

But eh, it's best we all just drop the subject. :)

Killzone 2 is the only game I play on it. I, too, got mine at a discount (around $220 for a new 40 GB) and I still prefer my 360. Still nice to have though.

I have all 3 systems but the only one I play really si the PS3 because I don't have xbox live. (I refuse to spend $100 on a wireless adapter that came built in free with both the ps3 and wii) and I don't want to pay for a gold account.

For my free month of gold I hooked my laptop up to my 360 and bridged the local connection to my internet. Live was cool but I could never see myself paying for it.

Also, my 360 only has component out. No HDMI. So, I don't know if that's why but the graphics are unbearable on most games after playing MGS4 and Uncharted and KZ2. RE5 and COD4 looked great on the 360 but I thought even gears2 was sort of shabby looking, RE5 looked better IMO.

Also, I'm a graphics whore if you couldn't tell..

I'm an owner of the :wii: :ps3: and :360:, all systems have their pros and cons. Personally, I prefer my PS3 ( I like how Sony allows me to install my own hard drive, use almost any bluetooth headset, usb keyboard, mouse, etc.). It's also great knowing my console doesn't have likelyhood of failing and playing blu-ray movies out of the box is not bad either. Lets see free online and a web browser too! The ability to install Linux and run it like a PC. Last the exclusives for PS3 in my opinion are better and this year has some potential blockbusters.

So out of the 6 games you have played, you loved two, enjoyed three and disliked one. Maybe your expectations were too high. If it only cost you $150, it sounds like you had a pretty good time.

uncharted was the best game this game session so far. theres been plenty of good games mind you but uncharted was the only one that felt like a next gen game. this gen of gaming it seems like companies are mostly playing it safe.
I got a PS3 at Christmas. I have only played Uncharted (which I loved) and other than that I use it for blu-ray. There aren't any other exclusives I'm interested in (other than HSG) so for a video game system it kind of blows, IMO. I'm still annoyed by the whole 1080i only thing.
yeah i own all 3 consoles & hate that 360 plays all games ive played in 1080p. ps3 on other hand only does 720p on 98% of games that are on BOTH systems. since i prefer 360 controller, i buy all multiplatform games on it. even lots of exclusives, most recently
VC, only run 720p. killzone2 is one that frustrated me most not being top of the line output & its supposed 2 be the graphics powerhouse? not on my tv.

Hm, I mean...I dont know dude. If you are getting either system just for exclusives I think your going to come out disappointed. For me, I prefer the PS3 because it has built in wi-fi (that makes it the same price as the 360 right there...for me), PSN is free, and I like the controller much better. If I bought an Xbox 360 just to play Fable 2, Mass Effect, Halo 3 etc. I might say "Hm, color me unimpressed" but if I wanted it to play multi-platform titles etc, I might have different feelings towards it. Anyways, it comes down to game preference and controller preference I think.

The only reason you see this happen on 360 is because the GPU on the 360 has a vertical scaler (MS got kind of lucky that ATi was just starting to add it to GPUs at the time) that takes an image and stretch it. Since Sony scrapped the plans for the Cell GPU, and had to use a GPU that was already on the market (they chose an nVIDIA one and changed its name to RSX, to make it more PS3 oriented), it didn't have vertical scaling capabilities (only horizontal). The only way to make a game scale to 1080p horizontally on PS3, requires some extra RAM to be used up (and there are many games which already push the RAM). If MS was a little earlier on having a GPU designed, it wouldn't have had vertical scaling capabilities either. While Halo 3 for an example might say 1080p, it's actually running in 640p, not 1080p. Think of the 360 vertical scaler as you taking a desktop wallpaper and having your PC stretch it to fit your desired resolution. It will never look as nice because it's not native.

Resolutions list:

I won't say all, but many games on PS3 which run in 1080p, are actually running in 1080p, not some sub HD resolution. The only 360 games which naively run in 1080 are Virtua Tennis 3 and NBA Street Homecourt.

Personally, I prefer running my games at native resolutions (or as close to it as possible), so I'm fine at 720p. KZ2 runs great in 720p. Keep in mind that Gears 2 isn't 1080p either, it's 720p.
