fire emblem! new legend of zelda!

They just want to start collecting preorders ASAP. Those dates'll change for sure, but they have to pretend they know when a game's coming out in order to get a person to hand over $10 to put the game on reserve. All the B&M stores are probably taking reserves and giving out the same times as well. Gamestop.com also has dates for these two games.

lol...What a good ploy..

Sort of like the 'Nintendo Dolphin', and Sega 'Katana' preorders...Great stuff.

But hey, they gotta make $ somehow.

they're probably hoping ppl will preorder it so early..and then by the time the game comes out, the ppl would forget that they actually preordered it....evil....

My question is why someone in their right mind would preorder something so far in advance. I could see doing it if you get a cool prize or something, but just preordering it now makes no sense.

I tried preordering the DS at Gamestop B&M, but they said no can do. I don't know if it was just for that, or if they are doing that for the games as well. But yeah, they just want people to put down their money early, then never get the stuff.

That happened to me with my GBA. I preordered at a Funcoland near me, they where supposed to call when they had mine in stock. They NEVER did. I lost $10 there, but lost my slip to redeem it. Never shopped at one again.

gamestop does the exact same thing that funcoland and eb does. They never called me when a game I preordered came in, and I happened to clean out my wallet a week after the game came out and found my slip. If I hadn't have done that, I would have lost my money too!

I think pre-ordering is pretty pointless unless they are either giving something away cool with a pre-order or you absolutely know the game is going to hard to get. The only games I think I've ever pre-ordered were Ocarina of Time and Baldur's Gate 2. Zelda came with a free t-shirt and it was in somewhat short supply, there was a huge line of people at funcoland trying to get their game when it came out. Baldur's Gate 2 came with a map, some other stuff, and a bonus disc with some extra items. The only thing I'm even considering pre-ordering right now is the DS and only when they set a firm price and I know what games are comming out at launch.

If you're afraid of losing slips, use Gamecrazy. They keep Store Credit and preoreders in the computer, so U don't have to worry about losing the money/ slip. Unless you've framed your slip from Halo 2, Half Life 2, or Doom 3 and stuck it on your wall. But that would be a bit freaky crazy...
