Flip Successes and Flip Flops
^ yup, hence why one would buy it used :)
About to go out and get the 3 that are at near by gamestops. lol
It will cost me less than the sandwich I'm eating now lol

Edit: I really need to get more "on the ball". I keep missing out on good "flippables". You don't even know how much stuff I have passed up because I didn't know.

^ I'd call in first, as one of the stores I've been to had regular cables marked as component (it still shows up on the store locate thing even after i brought it to some employees attention)

I know. the store locator sometimes doesn't work. Espically with ps2 Network adapters or they are just lying.:D

I did call. One store has 2 and another has 1:bouncy:

Edit: I see that a B2g1 free is comming up. Nice, looks like those 3 GC adapters I am going to buy is only going to cost $1.80. :bouncy::bouncy:

words of a TRUE CHEAPASS! lol
make sure those gamecube adapters are the broadband ones. There are normal dial-up modems priced the same at GS and those are worth nothing.
yeah i know which is which. There are no modem adapters at my GSs just the good broadband ones.
Oh and i know why the ps2 adapters are worth anything but why is the GC 1 worth anything. I can only think of phantasy star as the only online game and i think servers are gone

I think there's an underground network of people who can play GC games online with that modem. I know not too long ago there was a pretty big scene of playing Double Dash online with some mods. I recall it working sort of the same way like Xbox Connect did.

The GC BB adpater + PSO Ep. I and II will allow you to stream ISOs to your GC. It's "rare" for the same reason the PS2 adapter is rare. PSO Ep. I and II is only rare for that reason as well, which is a damned shame since it is one of the best games of all time.

You can also use the BB adapter to play on the SCHTHACK PSO servers still or you can use them for Xlink Kai to play Mario Kart Double Dash, Kirby's Air Ride or any other system link enabled titles online.

The PSO loader for gamecube is kinda buggy, and a lot of games dont run that well. It doesnt explain why Plus is rare because they fixed the exploit.

As for gamecube xlink kia, games support it are 1080, Kirby, and Mario Kart. Mario Kart is a blast to play online.

Plus is legitimately rare because of an incredibly low print run + most of the bigger PSO fans (like me) overlooked it because they already owned the non-Plus version and only now want the Plus version out of a necessity for having a complete PSO collection.

I've actually got a pretty good flip that I think you guys are missing (judging by the fact that my stores still have it in stock), once I clean out my area of copies (and sell them) I'd be happy to fill you guys in.

I once bought a truckload of arcade game parts (marquees, control panels, buttons, etc) from an arcade that shut down for $50. I sold it all off on ebay for around $1600. Turned out there was a stack of fairly rare NOS Atari System 1 marquees that sold for $40-$50 each. That was pretty awesome.

I've had some good flips over the years from buying vintage games at thrift shops and selling on ebay.

My only current gen flip so far was Force Unleashed from GF for $15, which I sold for $25. No big deal, but it almost paid for my own copy of FU.

Not a big flipper, but I picked up a bunch of copies of the MGS Digital Graphic Novel at TRU for $10 and sold them for like $40 shipped on eBay. Oddly enough, I offered them on CAG for cost and shipping and only had one taker. Also, flipped a bunch of crap from Sears back when GS did the 2 games/$10 bonus credit deals. The best was the $3 copies of XBL Arcade Unplugged. Didn't hurt getting a few bucks for the 1-month subs.

yeah can only hope to be part of the new cool kids club but had no idea it was going to close. ah well.

The whole cool kids club thing is pretty lame, with the closed membership some people here have posted tons of flips after the group started....oh well :) guess ill just keep posting my finds here.

You can call the group lame, but we've known about Street Fighter Anniversary Collection since the group began the first couple days of February.

Thanks, I know that it might not mean much but posts like this help newbies like me

Eh. FWIW, I just look through Gamestop's catalog and look at used games that aren't available online and then check the prices they've sold for on ebay. Quite a few games turn up that can net at least very small profit depending on their condition, your shipping costs, time, gas, etc. Some may be worth it, some may not.

Of course, I realize I probably miss quite a few flips, but I don't care that much. I do what I can and what's easy for me.

I've had a few successes with Marvel V. Capcom 2
Got a PS2 version for $6 and an XBox Version for $5
Sold the PS2 version for $90 and the XB version for $60.
Then got another XBox version for $11.99 at Game Crazy that I work at(had it transferred in from another store)
Put it up on Amazon for $80, and it sold, but guy asked me to refund him, since he changed his mind. I was a nice guy, and did, thinking it would sell soon again. Almost a month later, and no bites. Then again, I upped the price to $88 and there are people cheaper than mine.
But I figure if it sells, cool. If not, it's a great game.

Dude, up that shit to $100 and sit on it. Trust me, if it's complete and everything in excellent shape, then it will sell. Not like that game is ever getting reprinted or ported...

Tweeter (an overpriced home electronics store here the NE) went BK and some company did an auction of all the stuff from the corporate offices. I bought a number of items sight unseen including this gem for $55 (http://www.ciabid.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?ciauctions4/1361). It included the crestron cable ($110 ia ebay), 2 Cen-IDOC ($350 each on ebay), an IR Learner ($205 on ebay). All in all that auction netted me $2,000.

Recently I went to buy spoke $5 PS2 games from craigslist. Had some nice gems like Baulder's Gate 1 and 2, GoW I and II, Okami, Champions of Norath, Champions: return to Arms, Silent Hill 4, Shadow of Collosus, Midway Games (I wanted), The Warriors. Not a bad haul for $45 if it was just that. I asked why he was getting rid of and he said no longer wants to play games. I go check out the other ps2 games he listed to just make sure there isn't anything I miss. On the top shelf there are 26 ps1 games. I ask if he's interested in selling and he's like ok, I ask how much and he replies what I think they are worth. I scan quickly and see Silent Hill so I said since he's asking $5 for PS2 I would offer $2 each for ps1. I didn't want to be choosy so I pick them all up and we settle on $85 for the PS1 and PS2 games. All are complete and minty mint. Here are the valuable ps1 games:

Clock Tower, Oddworld: Abe's Odysee, Oddworld: Abe's Exodus, Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve, Fear Effect, Resident Evil Survivor, Silent Hill, Resident Evil Directors, Metal Gear Solid, Bushido Blade, Bushido Blade 2
tell that to the earthbound fans
I totally forgot that the ESRB rated that, though I'd say there's a better chance of MvC2 getting a re-release than Earthbound. Capcom loves their re-releases about as much as Square Enix does.

Yeah but do they even have the licensing rights to use the Marvel characters in any sort of re-release, reissue, PSN or XBox live release etc.? I thought there was no chance in hell due to the Activision licensing agreement with Marvel...

it's disc only in a generic Game Crazy case. Disc is in good condition. I'm gonna sit on it at $80. If I ever need the money, I'll drop it to sell, but for now I'm good. I've thought about using it as a trading chip, but Goozex has the point cap and I'm not letting it go for 1000.

but Activision's license isnt exclusive. EA got the license to make a Marvel fighting game, which they originally got from Capcom. Now is Marvel going to work out a deal just so they can port/remix a 9 yers old game?

Oh I thought it was a complete copy.

Heh, if I were you, I'd go find another XBox game case, and go to the coverproject.net and print out a new case insert for the game. Then you could list it as "including the case, missing the instruction manual only" and someone might bite for the $80.

Well, i thought i got kicked out of the group for not being online for a couple days. Though it kinda sucks i didn't get an invite to the new group.

Anyone happen to save the images?

After a quick search on Gamestops website, every 'flip' I have mentioned has vanished from the 30 mile radius around my house. There has to be a lurker around my area, so if the people that got kicked out of the social group wanna start a seperate group I'd be happy to join otherwise I will be keeping anything new I find for myself. Sorry :(

EA no longer has the rights after EA Chicago went under, right? Seems like a perfect time for Capcom to get the rights back. There also might be some sort of way for them to work out a deal to where they can re-release the old games without having to completely purchase the license again. I don't know anything about IP law, so I've really got no idea what I'm talking about here.

I'd really like Konami to get the rights to X-Men games back so I can see a port of the X-Men arcade game onto XBLA.
