The first season of Freakazoid! will be released on DVD the same day as the first volume of Tiny Toon Adventures (probably in mid-2008). Being just 13 episodes, this release will be given a lower price in an effort to increase sales.

There currently are no plans for the final, volume 4 DVD release of Animaniacs. However, Tiny Toon Adventures has been green-lighted for release, in the same numerical-order format.

I'm so fucking stoked two of my all time favorite shows are coming to DVD!!! I'm so giddy right now.
Boo to no completed Animaniacs! BOO!
Don't worry. They'll release it. They just don't know when... it doesn't mean they aren't working on it.
I've been waiting for Freakazoid! on DVD ever since DVDs came out. Awesome stuff!
Same here. I remember watching the cartoon a long time ago and it was hilarious! I called it the Conan O'Brien version of a cartoon b/c the humor was so wacky and off the wall. Remember when he would run around making the "flying" sound?

"fshhhhhhhhwshhhhhh!"

HELL YES

Super teen extraordinaire,
Freakazoid, Freakazoid....

Tiny Toons would be good if they only gave out the high quality episodes, since that show jumped around in animation extremes between episodes. But getting Plucky Duck as a baby in The Potty Years and They Might Be Giants music videos might be worth it alone.

Really pleased with the announcement for Tiny Toon Adventures on DVD. Man did I love that show. Freakazoid sounds good at its decreased price. If it's something relatively cheap, then I'll pick it up. Otherwise, I'm gunning for TTA more than Freakazoid since I just was a bigger fan of TTA.

This thread also reminds me that I need to pick up the rest of Pinky and the Brain at DDD this sale, Batman TAS season 3, and Teen Titans.

TINY TOONs! i still have the movie on tape. i love that movie.

wacko and freakazoid and brain
All I ask for now is Earthworm Jim. pleasepleasepleaseohplease!!!
AMEN BROTHER!!!

Still, the release of Freakazoid on DVD finally proves there is a God.
This is awesome news, I hope they do the same with Earthworm Jim now, too.
Now that would be a good show to see the light of day again or on DVD!

I've got to agree, Earthworm Jim would be groovy! Especially since that's probably the last of the 90's cartoons I've been waiting for since they announced Sam & Max: Freelance Police, and now Freakazoid and TTA...

I'm also anxiously awaiting Eek! The Cat to some year hit DVD, which was YEARS ahead of its time for being a subversive "children's" show.

I never really cared for Eek, though I'd probably rent it to see if my tastes have changed...

WTF is up with Warner bros and disney with their shitty cartoon transfers? batman adventures and gargoyles, ducktales, and animaniacs and pinky and the brain look just slightly better than broadcast. This is DVD people. And don't say it's the source material cause the Superfriends Cartoon quality and Speed Racer look soooo much better in comparison and they are like from the late 60's, early 70's. WB and Disney are sooo goddamn sneaky. They give this subpar release and then release a remastered clean print in the future. I smell ADV Robotech on the batman adventures.

I don't exactly remember them being air in that high of a quality.

Kick-ass!

As much as I liked most of these old cartoons, I've always felt that Freakazoid is the only one I'd be willing to buy now. This is excellent news.

(On a related note, I think I can still sing the Earthworm Jim theme song... which is odd, because I didn't watch that one too much.)

FINALLY! About time Freakazoid gets a date, I'm kinda hoping for more extra features to be announced to tide me over a bit more.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH YYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!! :bouncy:

Thanks for the heads up! I'm more excited for Tiny Toons but I'll hopefully be able to pick up both.

I don't understand how Warner Bros. animation masters are so shitty? Batman and pinky and the brain and animaniacs had such awful transfers and I'm sure freakazoid and tiny toons will be bad too. Even the looney tunes golden collection has better transfers than 90's cartoons and they were made in the 50's. What gives?

The old looney tunes cartoons would have been done on film, the newer shows may have been done on video. Even when they were on TV they didn't look especially great.

What the? Yay! Finally! Tiny Toons!! Can't wait. Freekazoid was awesome too. Remembering those days....Wow.
Can't also wait for Ducktales Volume 4 which I think It'll be the last Volume I think.
So i have to ask, dvd go down da hole?
Goodness, no!

Paycheck go down da hooo-ooole... bye-bye, paycheck!

Best episodes ever!

Why have I never heard of Freakazoid? I watched cartoons religiously growing up. What station did it originally air on?

EDIT: Wiki showed it aired on the WB. No wonder I never saw it then, as the WB almost never came in at my house when I was younger. (We only got ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX.)

Even if you did get the WB, it was on pretty briefly and disappeared. WB was also moving their shows all over the schedule at the time. It was almost like they wanted to kill off their animated shows. But, honestly, I believe that the company as a whole just didn't understand their shows, and then didn't market them properly or support them.
