1. I can't get into the member's area/can't find out where to pay. Help!

After the initial registration email, you should receive a second email linking you to a payment page. You can request that this email be resent if need be. Make sure to check your junk/spam folders as well.

2. Will this work on consoles?

No. Games and most accessories only. Physical point cards are also eligible, but not digital point codes.

3. Do these work on Quick Picks/Deals of the Day/Trade-in Coupons?

Yes, Yes, and Yes!

4. How do I get my Quick Picks to show games?

This should be a basis to get it to work for whatever you are interested in. It is not a science though so be persistent.

5. Does this work on Pre-orders?

Yes, it does. The price will also automatically take off 10% of whatever the final selling point is due to the Pre-Price Guarantee that Amazon offers.

6. I have heard that these offers have expired/been removed, is this true?

There have been a few instances where codes expired or they ran out but The ECA and Amazon have usually rectified the situation within a week or so. Also, the Terms of Service state that any membership benefits can change or be canceled without any notice so keep that in mind when signing up.


7. Double and Triple stacking

This is no longer possible. Don't bother trying. Originally when the ECA would run out of codes and switch to a new batch members were able to stack codes. A glitch in Amazon's system would keep older codes in your account, and it was possible to add codes from the newer batches to obtain more than 10% off. Amazon found out about this, hence the reason the codes are currently down/ being worked on.

8. Begging/Asking for codes

This is not allowed. If you beg/ask for a code you will be permabanned. No questions asked.

9. Selling codes

Definitely a big no no. If you do this, you will get reported to the ECA and your account will be shut down.

10. If I make a pre-order with a code a cancel it, will the code still work?
Yes. Codes should remain in your account but again they will no longer stack. It is one code per game. Amazon and the ECA are working on codes tied into our accounts but this option is not yet available.

11. If I already have a pre-order made, can I add a 10% off code to it?

You can not add a anything to an order once it is made except a gift card. You can try emailing Amazon customer support and ask them to add it. Generally they have no issue doing this for you but it's a crap shoot.

12. What if I already have a pre-order with the old codes applied? Should I be worried?

We don't know definitively, but chances are good that Amazon will not touch the pre orders we have already made.[/QUOTE]

Just joined, and it immediately paid for itself. Ordered:

I buy most of my games from Amazon (since I have Prime), so the ECA membership will likely pay for itself 100 fold. Thanks OP.
 
Dammit, this thing is making me buy stuff I would have normally held off on. I guess that is Amazon's intent in providing it ;).

I got Devil Survivor in my wife's Gold Box discounts today and pulled the trigger: $24.22 after gold box + ECA. And of course I had some trade credit there to use as well, so no cash outlay for that.

Amazon's usual discount is nice, but with ECA you simply can't resist some of the stuff you normally wouldn't bite on. >_

No one knows for sure but we haven't been told the deal will be ending, they're probably just getting smart and publicizing expiration dates instead of having them just die unexpectedly and the chaos which then ensues.

Thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll go ahead and make a good amount of preorders and can always cancel if needed. I really hope they do the 10% continuously though.
 
I just joined. Arkham Asylum for PC after the $5 discount + code=$35.49total. Not bad.

Tempted to get Dragon Age for PC too now.
 
Got dissidia in my gold box, AGAIN! It's just too bad this is a game I don't want and already rated to try to get OTHER games in there. Then a bunch of books, one about the secret service which is showing up in both amazon accounts. Cute :roll:

Yeah, I've gotten Dissidia twice too. Don't have it today, though. I did get 4 video games but they are all things for the DS I have no interest in: Bleach Dark Souls, Touchmaster, Naruto Ninja Council 3, and Battleship/Connect 4/Sorry/Trouble. Then I have Ender's Game in there for some reason (which I read like 20 years ago) and some books on child raising and an Oprah's Book club selection - I suppose because my wife bought stuff like that about 4 years ago on my account. I've completely purged them from my recommendations but they keep popping up anyway.

Just buy a bunch of codes and then dispute the charge. Since he isn't actually selling anything, he will lose the dispute. Maybe that will teach him.

ECA's discount page where it says "10% off games-related accessories" now also says (software-only) now. I wonder if this means they'll be removing discounts for Fightsticks/Controllers/Music-Game accessories. I knew it was too good to be true.

Im willing to bet that after 9/30 when the current batch of codes expire, the discount will be reduced to only 5% off because of fucktards abusing it.

Yeah, I'm making sure to have everything pre-ordered with a code by that time, because they do stipulate that offers can change without notice. I mean, having a $5-6 coupon for every game is pretty amazing and in my experience -- too good to be true doesn't last.

I generated a new code just now and tried two items. Im still getting the discount on DJ Hero Limited and the 120gb xbox hard drive. I hope it still works later. I'm not going to place an order until the end of this month.

do you have to have eca to have video games in your golbox and if video games do come in your gold box what do you get?

doubtful cause many people will Demand a refund... many credit card companies offer a 1 year chargeback...so if they would drop the 10% amazon codes i think some will do a chargeback.. i know myself if i dont have my 15 back i might ask for a partcial refund

LOL your sense of entitlement is terrible. You signed up for a membership that happened to include perks which they state can change at anytime without notice.

I'd do it as well if I hadn't already made my money back. I'd imagine many people would dispute it if they weren't able to make their money back anymore.

Good luck trying to convince the credit card company to do a chargeback in this situation. Just because you feel wronged does not mean the credit card company will agree with you, especially if you are paying for a membership and not access to 10% coupons.

Don't do it. Seriously, it's $20. You'll make it back... any sort of splitting/sharing will just raise red flags and make this deal more likely to die.
 
While I wish the ECA membership came with something like the EDGE card subscription comes with GI, I think I am going to have to bite on this. I'm a full-fledged Goozex user now so I'd like to start purchasing games and trading them on there rather than spending full price and getting less than half that for a trade-in at GS. I don't order from Amazon that often but I can think of a few games I've bought just this year that would have been nice to have this discount with.

Anyway, I'm going to sign up for it tonight so if anyone out there is part of their referral program and would like me to use you when I sign up, send me a PM. Otherwise I'll just sign up on my own tonight.

You guys really have nothing better to do than this? You act as if this is some non-profit for a good cause. We're talking about video games here. And while he shouldn't be doing it and it's unethical, you guys make it sound like he's a pos. There's much worse things that people do on here and on SD just to get/save a buck.

I can't believe you have nothing beter to do than flame us for doing the right thing.

The people selling these codes on eBay are abusing the deal and I will report every single one of them. The ECA and Amazon can shut down this deal at anytime. It's an awesome deal and I don't want a few bad apples to spoil it for everybody else. I agree this is not a major crisis and the world will go on just fine without the 10% off. However, it only takes me 30 seconds to report these abusers. In fact, I have spent more time replying to your post than I have reporting the code abusers.

Ok so I'm really confused abot how this works. I want to buy Batman AA,Wolfenstien and Afor Samurai,so will I get 10% off each game or just get 10% off 1 of these games then wait till the new codes come out to use on my next puchase?
 
One code should take 10% off every game as long as your buying it directly from amazon. There are some place that sell stuff through amazon and the discount won't work through them.

For anyone on the fence about this discount: Amazon is going through a wave of preorder goldboxes for games (from what i have been told by a friend who works at amazon) and this combined with that deal makes some games a steal. I'll be getting God of War III for $48 and change and many new preorders keep on cyclying through every day (Today i had FF13 in my box for about the same price.) Just a heads up to anyone that cares.
 
sorry if this is a noob question, but is it possible to get a game in your goldbox if its something you already have pre-ordered? the reason i ask is cause i got GoW3 and uncharted 2 preorderd from the gold box + ECA for 48, but already have an existing preorder for Demon souls, not thinking i would find it in the goldbox, but if wat abhinav says is correct, i wouldnt mind saving a little scratch on demon souls too, so im just wondering if i need to cancel the preorder for that to happen

I am wondering the same thing, more specifically if i have to cancel my preorder on Arkam Asylum and hope it hits the gold box. Just to try and clairify my previous message, Amazon is trying to mix more video game preorders into the gold box for EVERYONE, not just me. Here is some proof of my GoW preorder:

Holy hell! I would love to preorder FF 13 using Gold Box (plus a $30 code if they give me the one already from a trade accpeted 3 days ago - I expected it yesterday). I just figured FF 13 was so far out they wouldn't have that available. I'm hoping for closer releases like NSMB Wii. I've already preordered Persona PSP and Disgaea 2 PSP using Gold box + $30 coupon.

Right now I do have 3 game preorders in my Gold Box but I'm not 100% sure I want to get any of them via preorder: Golden Sun DS ($33.24), Phantom Brave Wii ($38.47), and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days ($33.24).

On the other hand, ny wife's Gold Box picks (which I tailored to get more video games as well for double the chance of good stuff) has a fucking Glenn Beck book in it right now! Boy, they sure don't know her too well - she's likely to cancel her Amazon account if she sees that ;).
