If you use the code GIMAG on theeca.com (found in an article of the new Crackdown GI issue), you can receive a free, full 1 year membership (I think it's only for new accounts). You do need a credit card to sign up, but if you cancel before the 1 year is up, you won't be charged. This is a great deal for the free amazon discount. Be sure to use the coupon soon, because the article doesn't mention the expiration for the coupon.

Enjoy guys!
dallascowboys

P.S. Now all of CAG can have an ECA membership!

Also, after you enter your CC number and the coupon, the page after lets you check everything before you submit your order. That way you know that the coupon worked and you won't be charged.

LinkinPrime Edit:

Check your spam filters for the confirmation link, if you signed up for the newsletter you will get 2 emails, one for the newsletter and one for the membership. For some reason the newsletter one showed up in my inbox and the membership was in my junk mail folder, so keep an eye out.

You weren't kidding. Ok I found this on page 28. All credit goes to jacknicklson for the original faq (1-6).

ECA/Amazon FAQ

1. I can't get into the member's area/can't find out where to pay. Help!

After the initial registration email, you should receive a second email linking you to a payment page. You can request that this email be resent if need be. Make sure to check your junk/spam folders as well.

2. Will this work on consoles?

No. Games and most accessories only. Physical point cards are also eligible, but not digital point codes.

3. Do these work on Quick Picks/Deals of the Day/Trade-in Coupons?

Yes, Yes, and Yes!

4. How do I get my Quick Picks to show games?

http://betterelevation.com/2009/02/1...old-box-trick/
This should be a basis to get it to work for whatever you are interested in. It is not a science though so be persistent.

5. Does this work on Pre-orders?

Yes, it does. The price will also automatically take off 10% of whatever the final selling point is due to the Pre-Price Guarantee that Amazon offers.

6. I have heard that these offers have expired/been removed, is this true?

There have been a few instances where codes expired or they ran out but The ECA and Amazon have usually rectified the situation within a week or so. Also, the Terms of Service state that any membership benefits can change or be canceled without any notice so keep that in mind when signing up.

7. Double and Triple stacking

This is no longer possible. Don't bother trying. Originally when the ECA would run out of codes and switch to a new batch members were able to stack codes. A glitch in Amazon's system would keep older codes in your account, and it was possible to add codes from the newer batches to obtain more than 10% off. Amazon found out about this, hence the reason the codes are currently down/ being worked on.

8. Begging/Asking for codes

This is not allowed. If you beg/ask for a code you will be permabanned. No questions asked.

9. Selling codes

Definitely a big no no. If you do this, you will get reported to the ECA and your account will be shut down.

10. If I make a pre-order with a code a cancel it, will the code still work?

Yes. Codes should remain in your account but again they will no longer stack. It is one code per game. Amazon and the ECA are working on codes tied into our accounts but this option is not yet available.

11. If I already have a pre-order made, can I add a 10% off code to it?

You can not add a anything to an order once it is made except a gift card. You can try emailing Amazon customer support and ask them to add it. Generally they have no issue doing this for you but it's a crap shoot.

12. What if I already have a pre-order with the old codes applied? Should I be worried?

We don't know definitively, but chances are good that Amazon will not touch the pre orders we have already made.
permabanned for begging? that's a little harsh. especially when most people don't even read the OP any more since it hasn't been updated in ages.

You mean it hasn't been updated except for the part about begging being a permaban?

I dont have to click the OP, I just hover over the title and I can read what the first post says....beg=ban.

*sigh* Anyhow Im buying Demon's Souls so I go to place the order earlier today and cant get the "release date shipping". I sorta waited too long since I wasnt sure to get it or what. Now Im getting it on the 9th with 2 day shipping w/prime. Also they added another bonus but its for an MMO of sorts. Its a custume from what I an tell that expires on 30 days.

Is anybody else having problems getting a new code? I know they generate a new one each day, but the last few days, the same number keeps popping up. What up with that?

I just got a new one - almost exactly 24 hours after the previous one generated. Hope yours starts to cycle back so you'll get another.

alright guys so i need some quick advice. i figure i'll take advantage of these random $20 promotions in my cart and triple eca codes, but i'm not sure what to put it on. ive narrowed it down to these:

Mass Effect 2 or Borderlands for around $20 (i want these games but i'm sure amazon will add promotions to these that would make me buy the games anyway, so i should use these on something else)

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for around $15 (i just noticed they dropped the price to $51.49...but i have a few xbox games to play first..i could wait until some Black Friday or Christmas sale)

Scribblenauts and YuGiOh for DS for $10 each (it's been maybe 5 years since i played a YGO game, but a friend was playing it the other day and now i have the craving again...)

so what would you suggest?

Since they're being generated every 24hours does that mean if you don't use the code within that time frame it becomes void?

I'm wondering if you generate them and apply them to your account that they could be redeemed at any time like ones in the past seem to be doing.

Here's what I hope is a legit question: I pre-ordered a Deluxe edition of Demon's Souls Deluxe and using the free trial of Prime got it upgraded to Release Day shipping. Does anyone know when the game should ship from them? Still shows as a "not yet shipped" status.

Thanks,

It should ship the night before release date and you'll get a shipping confirmation around that time too.

Amazon notifications can be screwy. Bought kingdom hearts 358/2 last weekend with fsss. It arrived Tuesday morning the your tem has shipped notification came Tuesday night. This has happened several times with me.
Preordered Brutal Legend, Uncharted 2, God of War III, StarCraft II, FFXIII & Versus XIII for $143.61 OOP.
So say when the first games ready to ship like Uncharted 2, how much will your card be charged 30% off the price of Uncharted?

Not sure how it works when youve got preordered items and a set total price

it will just charge the 30% off priceof the shipped item. I'm pretty sure of this b/c if you look at your order email from amazon they're broken up into groups and each group has the corresponding price after discounts shown.

You get charged per game when it ships. If a game is 60$, with 30% off, you'll get charged 42 dollars when it goes. If you have credit, that credit will be applied first until you're completely out. Some promo's, like the trade-in one for 30$ off coupon, will spread out over the entire order. I'm not sure if credit after purchase(like with uncharted 2, assassin's creed 2, halo odst, etc) works like actual credit, or like a promo, as my orders have yet to ship that have them applied.

Hi guys well are you sure, in my Order Email I see the 3 promotions applied and the amount is correct. But right under each of the games listed that are broken up, it shows a retail and not discounted price?

Just a heads up, If you ordered Demon's Sould DE recently and coudnt get release date shipping, you can do it now! I recently changed my shipping method from 2 day to that and you dont need to re-do your order btw. I would like to thank the CAGer, Lorddraco07, who kindly told me this via a PM. Pretty nice of him.

I'm not exactly sure what just happened but I put it a pre-order for Demon's Souls CE and it took 10% off, then I stacked another 10% off w/ the ECA membeship to bring it down to $53... Anyone experience the same thing? Was it an old promo on my account or...

Not complaining, just wanna find out why I had a promo applied already. I'm surprised they even stacked >.>

It appears that the new batch of ECA codes are double stacking with the old ones from yesterday (2 days ago)?.

It just happened for me too. I just inserted a newly generated code, and i got $30 off my Modern Warfare 2 prestige edition.:hot::applause::D
We shouldnt be so quick to comment, as everythings preorder. Or has anyone gotten the actual 30% off on a current order?
You get a gold star for not reading any of the previous pages in this thread. :applause:
We shouldnt be so quick to comment, as everythings preorder. Or has anyone gotten the actual 30% off on a current order?
I think someone here claimed that they already got the 30% off an order that was already shipped.

Got 20% off halo odst, 30% off two sets of games that I'm flipping back, and demon's souls will be shipping I guess like the 5th to me with 30% applied.

Guys, stop speculating on, "Oh noes, Amazon will cancel my 30% off pre-order."

They won't. Amazon takes it like a man/woman. (Unlike GameStop, IE: the online B1G1 fiasco.)
They won't. Amazon takes it like a man/woman. (Unlike GameStop, IE: the online B1G1 fiasco.)
Interesting. Do you have any pictures of this man-woman?

I would rather Amazon.com cancel all the 20-30% orders, and keep the program for everyone going else rather than they cancel it outright.

For my pre order, it just says promotion applied 3 times. Nowhere does it say ECA or whatever. I am going to assume that a customer service rep is going to view the order the same way.

Sorry if this has been asked before but...

1. Are the ECA codes a 1-time use deal? I have 30% stacked apparently (dunno how.) Not sure if I should buy all the stuff I want now or if I'll still have 30% still afterwords.
2. Is there any way to get Release Day Shipping on multiple preorders in the same order? I have 3 preorders in my card with different release dates and Amazon doesn't seem to give any option to get RDS on each separate item. Do I have to order separately?

Thanks - Kevin
I think someone here claimed that they already got the 30% off an order that was already shipped.
I had a 20% Ship today.. The 30%'s start in another week for me.

LIke others have said - the most id expect (and hope if something does happen :) ) would be the codes no longer stack so high in the future. I have a hard time believing amazon would tell people "No - we dont want your several hundred dollars in preorders - Your Orders are cancelled and your banned forever! Go away!)

to CheapA$$Gamer, you pm's were full or your not accepting them or something, anyway I'll post my reply here, hope it's okay haha

---
Hey mine looks like that too. It has the discounts above like yours and then it shows their listed price for it like Modern Warfare 2 is $59.99 so you're okay. Good call on Bioshock 2 and CoDMW2 lol I got both preordered. Enjoy your games!!
Does the code that used to be in the OP still work?
If you are referring to the code from GameInformer, it worked as of Wednesday for sure. Can't speak for today.

1.The codes are 1 time use, so yes if you place that order it will no longer be available (unless you cancel again).
2. If you haven't yet, sign up for the Amazon Prime trial. Amazon prime = free 2 day shipping. 2-day shipping is the only way to get release day shipping. The free shipping comes in normally 4-6 days after release in my experience.

I agree that they would never ban anyone, and I also highly doubt they will cancel many if any. They are likely still making a profit, just not as large. Canceling in that case is not exactly beneficial to them as any gain is better than no gain.

If i sign up today for ECA, can i use the code on a preorder, I have already placed. I used the 50% promotion and willing to sign up for ECA if i can get another 10 percent off. Thanks

Doubt it. You have to cancel + re-order to apply to it. Your best bet would be sign up (assuming it is still free), get a code, contact Amazon and ask a rep to add it for you. If you word it right, and you get a nice rep it MIGHT get added on. Amazon reps seem to be very YMMV though.

1. I went ahead and ordered my order (had 3 ECA codes stacked) and now I still have 2 stacked in my checkouts. Haha.
2. I think my mom already used the Prime trial so no go there. However, I cut down my items and it finally let me choose 'Release Day Shipping' on the whole order (COD:MW2 x2 and Fallout 3 GOTY). Seems to be moody. I added Assassin's Creed 2 for kicks and it took away RDS from shipping options. Odd.

Ah, apparently some are doing release day shipping for the free shipping as well :) I went ahead while I had prime + 30% ECA and ordered every game I'm interested in for the next two years, lol. At these prices, I can probably play the game + flip it if I don't want to keep it and still break even if not make money by trading it back to Amazon, lol.

What? Do you mean that a "66" code stacked with another "66" code?
What? Do you mean that a "66" code stacked with another "66" code?
There has been a lot of speculation for how to tell whether two codes are stackable or not. For example, the last batch stated with 'JT', and I'd assume the new batch starts with '66' ;)

I'm 99% sure that this is correct... cause when I called CS about not getting the $20 in different credits (10 original, 5 from twitter code, 5 mp3) he said I see you have 19.** in promotion credit I can up that to 20 for you... and the $19 dollars in promotion credit was what I got off from goldbox/eca/preorder guarantee... it's listed exactly that way on the invoice that you get and he didn't know what they were...

so it looks like they see exactly what we see... now that being said I'm sure they or someone can dig deeper... prolly someone in supervision or something.

i wish amazon carried PSN cards...i could really use one since the Queen DLC will be hitting rock band this month.

and hopefully, the stacking doesnt disappear in the near future....im trying to hold out for some gold box discounts.
