I dont think this has been posted...

Activision announced that two Bruce Springsteen songs will be available for Guitar Hero World Tour on January 27. The release of the two songs, "Born to Run" and "My Lucky Day," coincides with the release of Springsteen's new album Working on a Dream.

The songs will be available for free during the first week. After that, from February 5 on, the songs will be available as a pack on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 320 Microsoft Points ($3.99) and the PlayStation Store for $3.99, and as singles on the Wii for 200 Wii Points ($2) each.

Folks, what this means is to download them ASAP so they are in your download list.
If you want to get it LATER, you can, IF you "purchased" them now.

If it's anything like GH3 you can download it independently. I got a whole pile of the free promo music they put out for GH3 from time to time and finally got to play it when i got the game a couple weeks ago.

Nice, thanks!

And menewbe: No, there is nothing that stops you from downloading content for games that you do not own. So, purchase it now, and you can always access it later from your download history.

forgot to say thanks OP

and also thanks for the other info guys.. hopefully i remember to sign in to live and get some free stuff

So sweet. Now I just wish they'd bring the Boss to Rock Band. Guess I'll now have to consider picking up the new GH at some point!

Of course, they couldn't get off their A$$es and make the marketplace available online when everybody was really fighting with RRoD and I missed out on some free stuff when it was in the shop. . .

you sir, do not deserve the title of a CAG. i'll take all the free handouts in the world. now, if only it were your tax dollars contributing to this one it would make me feel even better... oh well, we're already half way through the month. my welfare check is almost here... i'll be sure to spend your hard earned tax dollars on great deals i find on CAG (and download some free Springsteen while I'm at it). have fun busting your ass as McDonald's.... i'd rather smoke pot and play video games all day (and get paid to do it).

That's an awful lot of suppositions from one simple statement.

I personally don't like Springsteen very much and will likely pass too. Don't need extra songs clogging my already burdened hard drive. That is, of course, until I find a 120 GB one... :)

the ann coulter quote in his signature brought on my comment, not the fact that he doesnt want the springsteen songs... anyone that quotes ann coulter gets my full attention :D ... for the record, i am a conservative... just not a neo-con like coulter and the rest of the right wing media crew... ron paul FTW

Fair enough then. Ann Coulter annoys the piss out of just about everyone...

Free is free - but I don't care for Bruce and that's my choice. And yes, Anne Coulter sometimes scares me too sometimes, but I thought her quote in my sig file was appropriate. Enjoy the next 4 years of Socialism, comrades and lame-ass pot-smoking welfare moochers.

Before you accuse a guy who is not even in office yet of being a socialist, I have a question for you. Who was it that appealed to congress to pass the current bailout package - could it be the REPUBLICAN - George Bush?

I always grab songs when they're free...even if I don't particularly care about them (like in this case).

Well his sig does have a point. Bi-partisanship requires two to work on it and the Democrats never were much for working together (criticizing Bush at plenty of moments). For a Coulter quote, that actually is a fair point. But this isn't a place for politics.

But the bigger thing. Born to Run! Oh yeah!

Great, so we've established that Obama and Springsteen are socialists and Bush and Coulter are fascists. Either way, we all somehow made it through the last eight years and we'll all probably make it through the next eight as well.

Now lets get back to talking video games before we prove that they really do rot your brains.

free songs wooo! its about time

Ummmm...

i've tried this morning and just recently - can't find on wii.

though, the wiki page for ghwt DLC says it should be available too (though, i didnt check if their source is CAG)

I always thought Springsteen's songs were alright, but I just can't get past the fact that the man is a horrible singer.

Just grabbed it so it's in my history for the future. Are two songs really 80 megabytes though? I've never owned a Rock Band/Guitar Hero with DLC so I wouldn't know how big the songs are but that seems like a lot!

It seems to vary. GH songs seem to be bigger than RB songs though (I think). I last downloaded Life in the Fast Lane by The Eagles and it was 38 megabytes, so I guess it's around standard. I'd hate to see how big a song like Free Bird or Stairway to Heaven would be.

Oh and did you get it off PSN or the Marketplace? I just went on my PS3 to grab it from the store but didn't see it. Guess I'll put in GHWT and go straight to the store from the game to see if it's there.
