http://www.onlive.com/ is offering a free year of service to customers who sign up for it today. June 15th. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the OnLive service, it is basically a streaming game service that you pay for monthly. You can either access the service through your PC or through a box that they provide which will hook up to your TV.

Just because you apply for the free year does not mean you will necessarily get it. They will be choosing who receives the service on the 17th and will send you an e-mail if you qualified for the free year.

your access to the Service will include free demos and community features, such as member Profiles, Friending, Chat, Spectating and Brag Clip™ videos, but will not include any games, content or other services that are offered for purchase, and which must be purchased separately.

You can't play games on it, which sucks, but if you have friends that use it you could talk to them on there if you really wanted to...

True. I mean getting a free year of service is worth it to me. Perhaps the games won't be unreasonably priced.

You can play demos and decide if it works well enough to buy games. Of course I have complaints about the service that go beyond whether or not it works, but if you're interested this seems like a good way to give it a try.
 
Noob question... So you can play games streamed? Do you have to purchase the game or does the $4.95 fee cover access to all of the games? I have never heard of this site.

For the free trial it appears you still must pay for the actual games, but once the monthly fee kicks in I'm unsure how it will work.

Are they not offering the free game anymore. I signed up for the trial may 30th and got this

At launch, we'll be ramping up the number of active accounts starting with Founding Members. You'll receive an email when your account is activated, along with a coupon code for one FREE game. Remember, you'll need to log into the OnLive Game Service by July 4, 2010 and redeem the coupon within 30 days. Terms and conditions apply.
 
Weird, sounds like they won't even let you order games 0.o Signed up anyways, you'd think I'd automatically get it seeing as I was in the beta. No big loss either way, it's not that great =/
