Full Auto Reviews & General Discussion
So every game that includes a faceplate is crap? COD2 was recently just bundled with a faceplate..
After they had already sold a shit-load of copies.

Geez, well I atleast had some fun with the demo but I could tell it would be one of those games that would be "ok" at the best.

Ha!

I kinda had a feeling that this game wouldn't score well. I dunno... from the previews it always seemed very average and nothing that could top a Twisted Metal game.

Playing the demo of this game I thought mhe... easy to forget about this game. I thought of it like so many other games. People want to hype it up cus its one of a few new games comming out but in the end its just a tired rehash.

I was on IGN and saw a little flash advertisement for Full Auto and it states that EGM gave it the Silver Award and Maxim (not sure how reputable for games) 5 out of 5 stars.

Maxim reviewed Marc Ecko's Getting Up and Jaws last fall. Neither game is out yet. Take that for how reputable they are.

LOL, I would have noticed that but I get the magazine for the pictures, and not the articles ;)

Maxim most likely writes those reviews according to who pays them. The sad thing is they probably work for casual gamers.

This is the best game I have played on the 360 to date. The Demo is me and my sons favorite game by far, and its just a DEMO. Can't wait for the final product!

Sounds more tempting at $20. I'm guessing I'll be buying this game in a year, or two years depending on how many more 360 games come out by next year to drop the prices of launch games...

After playing the demo and seeing this review I'm confident that Burnout Revenge will be the way to go to get my arcade racer fix. I might pick up Full Auto in a year or so when it drops to $20...

If anyone has a Fry's nearby or just have an ad that Best Buy can price match, you can get it for 44.99 plus face plate. Sell the face plate on ebay and you can get $20+ for it, thus making the game around $20

Picking this up hopefully today. I checked BestBuy.com and no stores near me have them in stock. I need to pricematch with Fry's so that I can get it for 44.99 + Faceplate. Hopefully they'll allow it.

I wish the damn UPS truck would hurry up. It's "out for delivery" according to their site. Well, they need to hurry the hell up. That said, from all I've read/heard, it is what it is. It's a light, fun game with no real depth and no story at all. The basic consensus is if you like the demo, you'll like the game, but if you don't, stay away. The biggest disappointment from what I've heard so far, is that you can blow up pretty much everything, but that none of the enviromental destruction really effects the race. That is a shame, but I'm hoping the online component is still fun. Hell, some of the most fun I've had with the 360 so far is Ridge Racer 6 online, and that's not even a very good game.

Where'd you get it from? I orginally preordered from ebgames.com but they havent even shipped so I was going to pick it up from Best Buy or Gamerush.

i picked it up at gamestop this morning, and im quite happy with it. this game is right up my alley though..... ive always been a fan of arcade car racing with jumps, guns, etc etc. its light fun and arcadey.

if you like arcadey racers along the lines of crazy taxi or san fran rush, youll like the game. if you are looking for a game that puts burnout to shame, you'll hate it.

the framerate is a bit smoother than the demo, but there are still moments of slowdown during (massive) explosions. xbox live has no lag whatsoever in the few games ive played.

Stopped by a local BB at lunch. No luck on pricematching Fry's. Appearently they dont PM Fry's. BS!

I'll try another location after work. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Gamestop. Got it at about 2pm today. I really like it, but there seems to be some serious online leaderboard problems. I'm getting credit for less than half of my races. I don't know if the host is dropping it so it doesn't count like you can in Ridge Racer 6, or if it's a bug, or what the hell is going on. Anyone else having this problem? I have the rank 1-3 achievements now, but according to the board I've only raced 2 races and only have 10 points. I was supposed to have gotten 20 in the last race alone. Grrrr. Other than that though, great game so far. Offline isn't the best ever, but online is very fun.
Ouch. I may not even rent it now, with Burnout 360 coming out so soon. 5.5 from OXM is harsh, OXM usually bumps UP the score. Wow. I was looking forward to this.

And for those drooling for the Black demo, don't. I played it and was severely underwhelmed. It's slow, looks like crap after playing 360 games, and I kept shooting a wall and it wouldn't fuck up - that's lame, even Red Faction had that.
Personally, Full Auto is pretty damn good and hell, even reading the OXM review, just based on what they said, I was still stoked for the game. They complained that there's not a story. WTF? I don't recall Burnout or PGR or GT or Forza or etc. etc. having a damn story. It's a RACING game, not a RPG. And when they do, Test Drive and R Racing Evolution come to mind, they are usually very, very bad (the stories, not necessarily the games). Anyway. I totally agree on Black. I was all hyped for the game. Then I played the demo. Honestly, it doesn't even stand up to xbox 1 FPSs, much less 360 ones. On the other hand, I was very interested in Total Overdose after playing the demo. Didn't expect much from it, but it's kind of a whacked out mexican Max Payne with the cheese factor ramped up to about 47. Pretty damn fun. The voice acting was god awful, but other than that, pretty interesting.

Stopped by another BB after work. Got them to price match it at $44.99 and got the free face plate (which my 360 is wearing right now). Played for a couple min

I roared when I saw this.

:applause:

Not to mention that the other thread is in regard to the OXM review. In other words, two entirely different topics.

I hated the demo but the full version is growing on me. You can earn some quick and easy Achievement points and as you play and open up nicer cars the game becomes more interesting. I can tell the fun isn't going to last too long, though. It is pretty mindless and is kind of like the videogame version of FOX's "When Buildings Fall Down" but it will make a fun rental for a lot of people. $60? No. $50? No. $25? Heck yeah.

In Gamespots review they said there is a bug in the game when you hit a load screen it reverts your custom soundtrack back to the in game soundtrack. Can anyone confirm this??

Yeah, I picked up my copy from GameRush. I was enjoying the offline a bit (since I canot get on LIVE still because of MS). I unlocked like 11 achivements just going through the tutorial level in career mode. The game is fun. Will it get old, probably. I can see where LIVE should be fun though. The unwreck feature is nice, but makes things a bit TOO easy at times.

Yep. This happens. It is particularly annoying because the in game soundtrack is dreadful.

I merged the threads and updated the OP with some links to reviews.
I wish they made this game more like Twisted Metal and less like a racing game.
