Funimation Amazon Blu-Ray sell till Jan 31st

Ahhh Ahhh Ahhh OMG OMFG WTF!!! T_T I am literally crying. I had the mofo in my f'ing cart and typed in card info and hit place order and it had the balls to tell me it was no longer available ARGHH!!!

And the A HOLE above me probably bought the last one seconds before I hit place order, RUDE!

You won't be disappointed. Soul Eater is an amazing series. Has a pretty good story and it looks incredible on blu-ray! The ending is kinda meh, but all in all a great show.
 
Ok I forgive you Amazon even thought you just spiked my blood pressure for a good 20 minutes. Finally got an order in on C Control. Thanks to everyone in this thread for continually updating.

Anybody get anything besides C Control or Soul Eater?

I am watching C Control and I see a guy get possessed by an ATM, get in a fancy cab that shows a lot of rainbow lights, then disappears Martian Manhunter-style into a wall, have the guy fight a pretty boy using some weird mutant Digimon clone, only to get stabbed with a giant sword made out of Japanese yen. All before the opening credits. Sometimes I just love anime.

Here I thought getting into a cab that flashed party lights meant I get a free cab ride and, if I know random non-porn trivia, get a thousand dollars or so too.

I also got Hellsing Ultimate 5-8, Aria the Scarlett Ammo, and I'll probably get the Gurren Lagann Part 1 Limited Edition just for the box at some point. I was going to buy Ghost slayers Ayashi for $2 because of the cool box but the price jumped up to almost $7 literally right after all the C Control mess.

I'm still slightly disappointed that Soul Eater went on sale right after I picked it up for $36 on the Rightstuf sale. :| Oh well I'm still satisfied with it at that price.

I picked up (from Funimation and Bandai sale) C Control, Gurren Lagann box, Gurren Lagann 2, all Ghost Slayers Ayashi (though I hear its not that great), My Zhime Zwei LE Box, all of Haruhi LE (-Vol.1 which was just a bundle), and I guess you can count FMA Brotherhood Collection 1/2 on Bluray when they were ~$55 for both of them.

I'm pretty sure I've talked myself out of dishing out $92 for Yu Yu Hakusho on Bluray. I'm still trying to decide on the $25 Shana. I like your Cash Cab reference BTW. :p

I only picked up Soul Eater, but I already owned everything else from this sale that I wanted that was at a good price. I ordered a decent amount of anime from Deep Discount and Rightstuf last month, so I'm shying away from making too many additional anime purchases for a while.

I was on the fence about C Control, but I don't think it would be a series I'd watch again. It has an interesting premise and good execution, but suffers from having too few episodes and I felt it was a bit rushed. I do think it's worth watching once though.

Yu Yu Hakusho is a safe pass at that price, as with patience, you should be able to pick up the series for $80 or less. I can almost guarantee that Amazon will have them for $20 or less a volume at some point this year. Shakugan no Shana is a definite buy at $25, although I admit I'm unfairly biased towards that series.

Yeah, I'll just wait it out and pick up Yu Yu Hakusho if it gets cheaper. I have till the end of January to decide if I'm going to pick up Shana, but I'm almost certain I'll end up biting on it!

Shiki is a solid series that is part of the sale. Be warned, it is extremely dark in tone and the story and characters are very messed up. Extremely entertaining though.
 
Theres 1 C Control left again. I don't understand how they keep putting it back up with such limited stock each time. Its not like Funimation is only sending them 2 or 3 at a time?
 
I've heard...mediocre things about C-Control, so why are so many people buying it? Is it because it's coming in and out of stock? Also, is Shakugan no Shana a pretty typical action anime or something more? I figure with it having three seasons, it was somewhat popular.
 
I'm...a little late to this party. Holidays kept me from perusing the list when it was released. Anything left that's good that I may have missed?
 
I got 2 questions, does anyone have any opinions on Oblivon Island and the Tales of Vesperia movie?

Also, if they're good are those good prices or can they easily be found cheaper?
 
They were both just cheaper during the previous Amazon sale, and also at Rightstuf.

I wouldn't say easily found cheaper anytime soon, but if you're in no rush it may be worth the wait to save a few bucks since that's how cheap they were in the previous sale.

Idk about Tales of Vesperia but Oblivion Island wasn't anything special IMO. The only reason I watched it was because I won it at FP. I would have been disappointed if I had paid for it. In saying all that if you have any kids/siblings that are young, I'm sure they would love it.

It was decent but yeah I say it was meant for a younger crowd.

The show itself is OK, but you will get a lot more out of it if you are familiar with economics. It keeps being picked up because, as I said earlier, it is a new release that is 60% off. It is normally on sale for around $40 or so, so snap it up while one can.

I enjoyed Tales of Vesperia quite a bit and I've never played the game, so don't feel like you need to as a prerequisite. Pick it up if you're interested.
 
Well, Shakugan no Shana went up before I pulled the trigger.....I know its only $5 more, but I most likely won't be picking it up now. >.>
 
Ergo proxy just went up. Sucks, I had it in my cart, but couldn't pull the trigger last night because I couldn't use credit I had through my phone, and no computer access until today. Oh well, I now have a baseline I won't pay more than, and I'll save money until it hits that number again.

So....I'm a liar. I ended up watching a few more episodes of it on Funimation's channel and really enjoyed it so I used a $5 GC and picked it up for $24.49! :D You guys were right, seems pretty good and I should have pulled the trigger when it was $25!

I'm probably going to want and get the second season, but do you think that they will come out with a set similar to the first? One that doesn't have 2 parts? I'll most likely end up waiting for either that or a price drop on the 2 parts before I pick it up. Now we play the waiting game.....:cool:

Also, coming at you with yet another question...... opinions on Black Lagoon? Worth $32.99 for BD/DVD Combo Complete Series? Was ordering some more things from Rightstuf and I didn't make it to the $49 mark for free shipping and thought about picking it up!
 
Knowing funimations track record, season 2 will most likely be together in one set sometime this year. Im also waiting for that to happen.

Black lagoon is a fantastic series and having both seasons on blu ray and dvd for less than $40 is a steal.

You goofed. They just lowered the prices back on this and Ergo Proxy to what they were before. See if you can cancel and reorder before it ships. Even if it is shipping soon you might be able to do it.

As for Black Lagoon, I am about 5 episodes into season 2 and I definitely think it is worth it. But I didn't pay for it, so ...?
 
FUNi will ALWAYS come out with a complete collection of their "Part" anime releases. The only question is if it will simply be a repackage (like DBZ Kai) or a redone release (like FMA Brotherhood). Either way, it probably won't come out until Fall or Winter.

Definitely worth it even with the $3 shipping , it still comes out to $36, which is a steal by itself, so if you were going to add it to your cart to get free shipping on another order just do it. :3

Is this something new or has Amazon always done partial shipping with Free shipping? I ordered Soul Eater and Aria at the same time a few days ago and now Aria says shipping soon while Soul Eater still says not yet shipped. Thats pretty awesome that Amazon does that because I sure wasn't expecting it with their Free shipping.

They certainly do that, and have done it for awhile. In this case it was because Soul Eater is on backorder, but I've had things that were all in stock shipped at different times too, so yes it's done, but no it's not new.
