I don't know why Viva Pinata dropped so fast, but Fuzion Frenzy 2 bombed horribly.

Edit: A quick check on walmart.com reveales that they are now $29.82, which means that you should be good to go on pricematching (I avoid Walmart B&M like the plague)

Edit 2: Added Amazon.com links, which is your best bet if you don't mind waiting for the shipping... Let's hope for a DOTD for either one of these games to become something like $19.99-22.99...
By the time I get Fusion Frenzy 2 from the Old Spice challenge it will be $4.99
I'll trade you a 1 month code for it then :)

lol, I thought the same thing when I saw this.

I'll wait for Best Buy drops so I can get them for $24.99. A good deal nevertheless. I keep an eye on the price drops page for 360 daily and noticed the big drop on them.

F.E.A.R. is also $49.99 but I can wait.

I didn't think Fuzion Frenzy 2 was that bad, but then again, I seem to have a higher tolerance for mediocrity than most people. Plus, it's one of those games the wife enjoys playing too. It's certainly not very next-genish, though, I can say that much.

It's also a worthy pickup for achievement whores. Win the tournament once with each character, unlocking and playing all the minigames as you go, and you've got an easy 675 points in a single evening. The rest of the points are online achievements, which also appear very easy but I haven't bothered with 'em yet.

Viva Pinata is such a value at $30. I played the crap out of that game when it was released in November. I probably played 35 or so hours and got every achievement except the Master Longevity, which requires 50 hours of gameplay.

Such a great game nuff said.

I could not get into Viva Pinata for whatever reason. I was pretty surprised at the learning curve, being that it was geared towards kids and all.

Wow, it is one thing to be told by a fellow CAG a thread already exists, but you were told by a Dingleberry OP.

how do you get viva pinata in the regular dvd case? i'm hoping this price drop is universal and then an amazon deal of the day comes along for like $20 - $25, but i really don't want that terrible case. what the hell were they thinking with that anyway?

My local GC has it in the regular case, as does my Target - I thought the "special" case was pretty hard to find now. I searched all over for a GC that had it in the "special" case. I found one that was new but opened, bought it, then found another that was sealed, so I returned the opened one (not without some hassle from the GC clerk ). I *really* wanted a sealed "special" case for this. I had bought the game used at GR for $45 before my store shut down (I knew that was a mistake - at first I thought that with it coming out not that long ago it would stay $50 new until this Fall at least, but later had a nagging suspicion that was not going to be the case). Fortunately I just sold that on ebay before this price drop became well known. I only got $32 for it, but that's still a slight profit considering my trade-in credit value.

Now, once I get myself a 360 I'm all set to play. This will probably be the first game I play on it.

What IS in the special case? I still see a ton of them in just about every store here that sells the game.

Man, April has been too good a month for price drops and sales. Anymore and I'm going to be bankrupt. :(

VIVA PINATA SHALL BE MINE! I'm gonna start hunting for a used copy of the limited edition, or hope it's a universal drop so I can snag a new copy from my local Target that has the LE case (at least I'm pretty sure it does).

Seriously, I LOVED the demo. I literally spent my first few hours with my new 360, with such games as Gears of War in hand, playing the VP demo. I was hooked.

I'm absolutely thrilled. Some of my local locations have used copies still so I'm going to go back there tomorrow and pick one up. For that amount of money I can't see why I shouldn't pick it up.

I'm fairly certain that $25 is the price I paid for Viva during a BB special last holiday season ($30 at BB and then an extra $5 off for GGC) and it really was worth the price... the early game is great for all ages, and the later stages can be fairly challenging, unless you're talented at managing resources. A great game for the girlfriend as well...

Nothing special, really... Just a demo disc. I'm not sure what's on it besides the Lego Star Wars II demo (and I also have the real version of that so no need for the demo). I just wanted the different case. But I'll probably keep the game in a regular case when I play it - too much trouble to get it in and out of that special case on a day-to-day basis.

Doesn't the special case come with an episode of the TV series or something too?

Not that I'd watch it... but I love special editions.

damn, BestBuy.com still has it listed full price. I'd love to pick up a LE copy w/ GGC or gamepro coupon for 5 bucks off.

Yeah, I think that is on the demo disc as well. There might be other trailers and whatnot as well. Surely someone here has actually viewed it and can say? ;). If that episode is on there, then I'd have to say that I'm glad I got the LE, because my kids will probably like the show once we get into the game and they are familiar with it.

Saw this on Gamestop.com, looks to be a good deal.

$30 - Viva Pinata

I don't know why you guys want the 'special edition'. The cardboard box is a POS. I perfer the re-release of it that came out shortly after that is in the regular game case so it'd match everything else.

Btw I edited the first post to reflect that Wally World dropped the games price too. Best Buy still shows $50 each if you wanna pricematch to them.

HELL YEAH! Now that's what I wantta hear. Walmart accepts competitor coupons, so do you guys think they'll take a Best Buy Gamepro coupon? If so, I may need to check out the local Walmarts.
I wonder if FF2 is the fastest price dropping game yet on the system?
How fast did Splinter Cell drop? Seems like maybe a month after it came out, it was slashed.

I want to play Viva Pinata bad. But I know it's going to be practically free soon. I'm sure microsoft will start giving it away for this or that like they did with Kameo.

When/what did they do with Kameo? I too really want it, but due to it's poor sales, am wondering if what you said may be true and the price will further drop soon.

I think he means that it's clearanced everywhere. People are reporting finding it for around $10 at Target.

Can anyone confirm that you can have best buy price match either of these games, and also use the gamepro coupon to get one of these games for $25. If so, then I need to make a trip, I have a $20 gift card.

not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but amazon has also lowered the price to $30, so hopefully, if it continues to sell as poorly as it has been, a good $20 deal of the day could be in the near future.
time to pick up a used copy of Viva Pinata for lunch today :D
While I admire your dedication to video games, I think going so far as eating Viva Pinata is a little too much. ;)
