I tried searching for this and didn't see it posted, so if this is a repost, I apologize. Today I popped into my local Circuit City (Hagerstown, MD) to see if they had the Transformers movie soundtrack (I doubt they would, but hey, you never know), and they didn't, so I looked around the store more, and at the GBA section I saw two 20th Anniversary Edition GBA Micros with a sale sign saying they were $69.96. The sign said the price lasted until 11/14, so sorry for the short notice, but I just saw it myself tonight. I picked one up, so there should be one left if anyone else in the area wants one. I unfortunately can't pick one up for someone since I am driving back to my college an hour and a half away in the morning.

This is a decent deal... too bad the TRU deal spolied me, after paying only $20+tax for the 'standard micro', $70 for the special editiion just seem way too much to pay :p

The price is universal (my Circuit City in Jacksonville FL has had this for a few weeks), but YMMV for finding a GBA Micro...

It may not be a 20th anniversary, but both Wal-Mart and TRU have them in their Black Friday ads for under $40.

The Fry's in Austin Tx was clearing out ALL micros at 49.99ea but one weekend I went they had em for 39.99 and I snagged a couple of the annv ones. Doesnt hurt to try Fry's if you have one.

It's not exactly the same but I got one of the Famicom faceplates from Nintendo for $5 (+ ship) and I think it looks great on my black Micro. Though I must admit I prefer the all-black look so I usually have a black faceplate on. I love the Micro - it's the perfect size for any pocket...and the small screen makes the GBA SP's screen feel huge when you switch back to it :D. I got it when it was still $100 and I think it's definitely worth it for cheaper.

I think this is the same price for Bestbuy on the 20th Anniversary one also, but don't quote me on it.
I'll probably end up choosing this one since I know I'm going to miss out on the Black Friday deals on the regular gameboy micros. :(

My local wal-mart has these at $59 right now. I bought 2 for my kids this weekend, probably will pick one up for myself during the black friday sale, even though I really won't use it much (love my DS)

When did TRU have them for $20 . . . damn that's the price I'd like to pay.

It was a TRU online glitch (here) where you buy some crap, then you can get the micro for $20... but most who got the crap and micro were able to return the crap to TRU B&M for store credit. As for me, most of the crap I ordered became OOS and so I got my micro for $20 each. Not bad at all :bouncy:

I'd still like to have the 20th Anniversary Edition though... but $70 is way too much...

i payed $40 for my gba micro at compusa... but damn i wish i could've got one for $20 with that TRU deal....

but $40 is still a good price for it and im very happy with my micro, i use it all the time and more than my gba sp :)

Hey all,

What's the deal with the Micro? I don't mean financially, but in terms of the specs: is it backlit? If so, is the screen/lighting comparable to the GBA SP w/ Brighter Light and the DS Lite? Also, does it play classic GB games? And what differentiates the 20th Anniv Ed? Does it look like a classic NES controller or something?

Thanks,

Jon

It is well lit. Not like the brightest settings of the DSlite, but it's good.

The drawback (aside from not being able to use the micro to play games earlier than GameBoyAdvance ie, gbcolor, et cetera) is that you are not able to use the GBA cables or wireless adaptors for trading/mulitplayer/hookup to Gamecube. Nor can you use the eReader if IIRC. There are special micro link cables and such, but those are harder to find.

For me, as I have all sorts of cables and accessories for when the GBA came out. I traded in the GBAs when the DS came out, but I'm looking to pick up a couple GBA SPs at Circuit Cities Black Friday sale. $50 isn't bad.

I found the same Micro at my local Best Buy (Knoxville, TN) today for $49.96. They had six or seven of them. I don't know if they're that price at all the stores.

Is this version of the micro going to be on sale on Black Friday at Walmart?
I'm not sure since I only heard that Walmart just got this in recently along with the normal gameboy micro colors. I haven't seen a micro at my local Walmart in a long time, but then again it has been about a month since I stepped into one.

If you look at the ad, it has all the colors (3 of them) in the picture. My walmart just has the 20th version. Hopefully I can get it friday
