I noticed there was a thread for the upcoming Game of Thrones Season One Gift set. The price at HBO's store was pretty high at $99.97, but I noticed Amazon UK has the same thing and it's less than half the cost, coming in around $46US shipped.

It comes with the first season, as well as a Dragon Egg paperweight, and a preview disc with the first episode of Season two. It all comes in a super nice looking outer box as well. This set is Region Free and releases on November 19th.

This price is much more doable--just sold my Best Buy-exclusive Blu-Ray version for $100+, may get this to replace it. Thanks OP!

yep, not that it makes much of a difference. most people didn't know it until it was pointed out, and even then people had a hard time finding it

I'm not sure if it has any new extras that weren't on the previous release, and it doesn't mention digital copies so for now I would assume they're not included.

I have to agree. I am already paying a monthly charge for HBO.

Damn. There's no way I can turn this down. If I could bring myself to sell one of the BB exclusive sets I have (I have both Stark and Targaryen) I could make some money too, but I can't, so I'm just going to own 3 sets. I will admit that if the US one had been closer to 50-60, I might have just jumped on that, though with slightly more hesitation. At 80 (which I missed) or 100, it was a complete pass.

I just hope I don't end up doing this again for seasons 2 and 3...

At least you know you won't have to do it for season 6.

fuck I'm rewatching Season 1 right now on demand. I watched episodes 1 through 6 last night. It's weird that I'm enjoying the second viewing more than the first. I think it's partly because I know what happens later.

Are the special features worth $46?

I don't even really have a place to display the egg so it would just sit in the box forever.

I think you guys are confusing Euros and GBP. The total at checkout is £29.74 (GBP), which is approximately $46.52US. If it were Euros it'd be $36.80US
Obviously the blurays are region free anyone know about the dvd versions included?
Looks like this version only contains the Blu-ray discs and not the DVD & digital copies like the US version. I'm sure the DVD discs would most likely be region locked and PAL anyways if they were included
