This may be extended until 07/13/07, according to this post from Scorch, which needs confirmation that he should get later today:
My manager said that since the flyer says 7/13, we'll honor that. If the coupon stops working, we'll do it manually. This is probably just for my store.
These flyers arrived today at the store, I think they're meant to be put out Monday.

THESE DEALS ARE CURRENTLY ACTIVE! SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS!

***B2G1F on all "e" (used) rated games.

***B2G1F on all (used) XBox titles.

(of course, usual "equal or less" rule applies here)

***50% more trade in credit~! This applies ONLY to 360, PS3, Wii, DS and PSP games. Basically, bring in two (and two only) of your games and receive an additional 50% in credit towards your purchase. This DOES NOT stack with MVP.

If I am reading this correctly, according to this flyer, here's some of the trade-in prices AFTER the 50%:

Guitar Hero 2 (360) - $66
Command and Conquer 3 (360) - $45

This is only if they don't lower the trade-in values in anticipation of this promotion, though. If they don't, the 50% more thing will be MASSIVE profit for the customers (especially those of you who bought Tony Hawk at Costco).

As a side note, the prices for Ant Bully (Wii), Blitz The League (X360), Happy Feet (Wii), and Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (X360) all went back up. This could be temporary, but for now, Ant Bully is 29.99/24.99, Blitz is 19.99/14.99, and both Happy Feet and Grim Adventures are 29.99/24.99. The same thing happened with Far Cry. It went down to 19.99/14.99, then back up to 49.99/44.99, then back down again to 19.99/14.99. It may be temporary and the prices may drop back down, I'll post if they do.

//edit: Also, there's one misprint in the flyer. It says Resident Evil 4 Wii is 49.99. This is not the case. It is 29.99.

traded in Motorstorm PS3 got $45 and arcade unplugged for $27. picked up used copy of Forza 2 for 34.99 after mng hook up of 30% off and RE4wii with guide, for like 10 bucks outta pocket. good deal considering i got Unplugged for $15 from GR clearance, and Motorstorm for $35 after same mng hook up in GC before. Forza2 seems to have more depth then Motorstorm. so good trade I'd say.

OK, I got some slightly different values on certain games than other CAGs did - less in several cases - not sure why that is. These were all traded today 6/22/07. The GC is in Houston (Weslayen & Bissonnet for any Houstonian CAGs out there)

Title : MVP Price : +50% Price

Wii Legend of Zelda : 28.00 : 38.18
Wii Rayman Raving Rabids : 28.00 : 38.18
Wii Super Monkey Ball : 7.70 : 10.50  (Thought it would bring more than this)

DS Frogger Helmet Chaos : 5.78 : 7.88
DS Goldeneye : 10.45 : 14.25
DS Magnetica : 8.25 : 11.25  ($14 is posted on the Wiki as the MVP value)
DS Mario Kart : 14.00 : 19.10  (15.28 on Wiki)
DS Pac N Roll : 6.60 : 9.00
DS SBK Snowboard Kids : 6.60 : 9.00
DS Scooby Doo Unmasked : 4.95 : 6.75
DS Spongebob Yellow Avenger : 5.78 : 7.88
DS Super Mario 64 : 14.00 : 19.10
DS Super Monkey Ball : 7.70 : 10.50
DS Tak 3 Great JuJu Challenge : 5.50 : 7.50

-------------------------------------------------------

I've seen several CAGs inquire about how much the DS Phat brings. I got $52.00 (same as listed in the Wiki) for my son's and we upgraded him to a DS Lite Onyx using some of the credits. Now I have to take my daughter back tomorrow and upgrade her to a DS Lite Coral Pink since we have enough credit if we trade in her DS Phat too.

Considering many of the DS games I picked up at deep discounts at CC and are now being traded for greater value than what I paid I'm seriously digging this deal. Thanks for the heads up OP!

I know like most anything YMMV but how strict are they with bringing in doubles? I have two copies of armored core among some other games I have to trade in.

Thanks

If they are I'd just make multiple trips.

Alright, I'm gonna go up to my GameCrazy tomorrow, it's about half a mile away, WOO, and see how this deal goes for me.

I'm new to this thread, so how much do

Test Drive Unlimited
Just Cause
King Kong
Crackdown
Rainbow Six Vegas
Call of Duty 3
Quake 4
Saints Row
Prey

get before the 50% extra? All on 360. Sorry if these have been mentioned before somewhere in the thread, but if anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it. :)

Also, will I need an adult with me to trade my games, since I'm only 16?

Thanks guys.
yes
Actually, this is more of a YMMV. I know all of the guys at my store really well, and they're all pretty easy going, so they let me trade in stuff, and Im only 15.

Well I just got my permit (WHAT A FAG HES ALREADY 16!) so it shouldn't be a problem since my brother will need to be in the car anyways.

Thanks.

With the Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal on any xbox games... can you buy like 12 games and get 6 for free all in the same purchase... like does the computer do it automatically or do you need to hand the guy the 2 games you are paying for and then hand them the one you want and then repeat that process?

I just found out there is a GameCrazy about an hour away from my house. Never been there before so I was curious how all that worked.

Well, first off, it's B2G1F, so if you buy 12, you get 4 free. Hand the guy 12 and he will make 4 free.
I was told they think puzzle quest DS gets 18 before the 50% add on so i will probally run it up monday and see. Cant pass up 27 bucks for puzzle quest
Were you able to verify this? I went to my favorite/closest GC and as expected they wanted a new game purchase for every 2 traded in. They wouldn't let me get a Wii points card or a controller or a preorder instead (though, of course, they thought I'd still get that stuff IN ADDITION to the forced game I had to buy . Of course, I said I would have if I could have done it as part of the promo - would have dropped 3 preorders probably, their loss...).

So my first transaction I got a throwaway $9.99 PSP game. But then I remembered this slidecage post and picked up Puzzle Quest because the copy I bought there a few weeks ago was gutted. I was hoping to trade that in and keep the new/sealed one for only a $3 loss. I *really* couldn't think of anything to buy so I had to rely on this - afterwards I kind of regretted it. I didn't want to ask what it traded for right then and there because I was buying it new .

If worst comes to worst I'll just ebay it. Sure, it will probably only sell for $20 but that's more than I paid for the games I got it with. Still, having to buy throwaway games for every two traded puts a REAL dent in the deal. I might as well just trade for the regular MVP 10% bump and not be forced to buy crap or expensive stuff I already have ;).

I'm going to try my 4th GC tomorrow and see if they are any better about it. At least at the stores yesterday I was able to trade 4 and 6 in and just make one purchase - that I can live with. I may have to head back to one of those places.
ummmm.... what?
The sale is Buy 2, Get 1 free, not Buy 1 and Get 1 free.
ummmm.... what?
It's B2G1F. You said if you bought 12, you'd get six free. No. You'd get four free.
It's B2G1F. You said if you bought 12, you'd get six free. No. You'd get four free.
I don't mean to get in the middle here but I took him to mean he buys 12 (as in pays for 12) then he gets 6 MORE free, for a total of 18. That is correct, right?.

And FWIW, I forgot to say that Magical Starsign gets $7.75 or so... Meh, was hoping for a bit more than that.
It's B2G1F. You said if you bought 12, you'd get six free. No. You'd get four free.
Um, no. Let's break down the math.

(buy 2, get 1 free)x6
buy 12, get 6 free.

Genious.

ON topic, anyone know what Elite Beat AGents and SMB Banana Blitz get? I think I get nearly get PBR with that.

.
That is exactly what I meant.

I would pay for 12 games. So I would get 6 more for free. 18 total out the door

I thought I made that clear. Guess I screwed up.

Wow, amazing deal. I need to head to my sort-of local GC tomorrow. I've been itching to ditch Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz since I got it!
OK, I got some slightly different values on certain games than other CAGs did - less in several cases - not sure why that is. DS Magnetica : 8.25 : 11.25  ($14 is posted on the Wiki as the MVP value)
DS Mario Kart : 14.00 : 19.10  (15.28 on Wiki)
Well, you need to pay attention to the dates on the Wiki. For Magnetica the trade-in price of $14 was for June 26th, 2006 (!). The Mario Kart one was more recent, but it could have dropped or it could be lower because your store has too many of them. In any case, I'm putting your price in because it is always better to err on the side of lower prices so people aren't disappointed...

But thanks for all those prices as most of them were new to the wiki and we could use more of that. I have many of those DS games and I might have considered dumping them if I was not required to buy something for every 2 traded. They don't get enough considering that restriction though. Even though you got a few low values there, be glad they didn't force you to buy 7 new games ;). I am surprised at the pricing for Super Monkey Ball for the Wii, though - that almost makes it sound like they sell it for just $19.99 new. I wonder if a price drop is imminent on that. I got rid of Rayman because I couldn't believe it still fetched $28 (with MVP). I figured with the sequel announced that will come down to $19.99 new soon enough.

Updating the wiki through this post right now...

Went to my nearest GC and traded in some more Gunpeys, Guilty Gears, Live Arcade Unplugged and Bust-a-moves. Haha I accrued so much credit that the employee there put my credit on a gift card because she said it would suck if someone came in and used my phone number and stole my credit. I thought that was really nice of her; another reason I'll be buying all my new and used games from GC instead of EB/GS.

Hey Scorch does that ever happen, where someone overhears the number you give to the employee when they access your account and then steals the account?
Hey Scorch does that ever happen, where someone overhears the number you give to the employee when they access your account and then steals the account?
I wonder the same thing since they never ask to see ID when looking up your account. Scares the crap outta me since I have $130+ in credit now.
Hey Scorch does that ever happen, where someone overhears the number you give to the employee when they access your account and then steals the account?
Not often, but yes, it's happened. If we receive one complaint, we make a note to check ID's. I usually do regardless, or ask them for their address at the very least. I try to make it a point to know the MVP members and what games they like. I love having nice customers that I can talk/relate/be a nerd with.

You should probably have that credit put onto a gift card just to be safe. EB/GS never checks any ID either, but then again I've never had over 10 dollars worth of credit there so I guess it never really mattered.

Would anyone know the trade in values of these games:
360
Prey
Perfect Dark Zero
Moto GP 2006

PSP
Xmen Legends 2
Super Monkey Ball Adventure
Worms: Open Warfare
Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins
Coded Arms
Infected

Thanks for any help.

Don't expect to get $40 out of it. I think my store's only giving $13, we have seven or eight copies of it. Hell, on PS3 alone, we have five used copies.

You can thank the Costco $10 sale for the influx of used Tony Hawk's. I wouldn't get it if you're getting it for the 50% sale. It's very unlikely that you'll get $40 out of it after the 50%.

If they're not overloaded with copies. I'd call and ask if they had it used, how much it was and how many they had. If they ask why, tell them that you're looking to get it for a friend's birthday and wanted to see if you needed to rush down there to get one or not.

Sone of a bitch. All of the good DS games are spread out. I might have to do some buying and returning. But yeah stellar deal since Gamecrazy does beat out EBgames quite frequently on normal pricing.
I am surprised at the pricing for Super Monkey Ball for the Wii, though - that almost makes it sound like they sell it for just $19.99 new. I wonder if a price drop is imminent on that.
Yeah, that one is still kind of bothering me. I'm going back today to trade in a few more copies of extra DS games I've acquired and I'm taking my receipt to verify the trade-in price on Wii SMB. I find it weird that the DS SMB and the Wii SMB bring the exact same price (it almost makes me wonder if there is a system glitch.) I'll admit Wii SMB was a dissappointing title but come on - no other Wii game on the Wiki is close to that low on trade-in value.

Scorch, do you have any way of verifying the trade-in value of Wii SMB in your system?

Overall I'm very pleased with this deal. I hadn't even been in a Gamecrazy before this.

I verified it the other day, actually, I typed in "super" on the wii to get the trade value for Super Paper Mario and saw how low the value was. I thought it was a stock quantity thing, but we actually had 0 used copies. It was trading in either at 7 or 9.. can't remember which. And it sells for 34.99. I'm also thinking that it'll drop in price very shortly.

There's a few other games that do that, too. The only one that I can think of off the top of my head is Urban Chaos. I know it dropped to 19.99 new most other places, but it's still 39.99/34.99 @ GC, but it was trading in at 6, when we resell it for 34.99.

Tnanks for verifying. BUMMER that is is SO low. Oh well.
will Tony Hawk Project 8 work with this, even though its technically a 'sports' game?
Yes it works...as I posted earlier - $41.24 (after 50%) for the 360 version

Also,

Battlestations Midway (either) 16 or 18 before any bonus

The only GameCrazy near me only has the trade in games for a preorder get 20% extra. The guy acted like he had no clue what I was talking about when I said trade two get 50% extra.

:'( :bomb:

Edit: OK, so the GC on 6 Mile in Livonia doesn't know anything about the deal, but the one in Westland is doing it, but you have to buy a new game in order for the deal to work. (No preorders.)

So what's the cheapest new game I can buy so I don't put that big of a dent in my credit?

Also, is the coupon code in the OP the one for the 50% bonus? So if I write that down and ask the guy to type it into the computer, it will give me the bonus, even if he hasn't heard about it?

Actually, for SMB, I recall seeing an ad on the check out desk that said SMB got $18 with MVP, and something like 16.53 without, so this would net around $25 after the 50%.

I'll probably be trading in EBA and SMB for PBR.

That is the deal so you should try to trade as many games in one transaction so you only have to buy one game but that is YMMV becauase some stores are making people buy one new game per 2 games traded.

So what's the cheapest new game I can buy so I don't put that big of a dent in my credit?

From what others have stated you can buy demo disk for PS2 for like 6 bucks.

Yes, the code in the original post is for this deal.
Thanks for the info I know which one not to go to now.

Alright, thanks a lot guys. Do you think I should try telling the guy the coupon code in order to get the deal at the GC that is down the road, or should I just drive 15 minutes and go to the one in Westland to for sure get the deal?

Also, if I tell the guy the coupon code, and it works and everything, maybe I won't even have to buy a new game.

Hmmm, I'll probably just go to the one in Westland with my 10 games in tow, and see if I only need to buy a $6 demo disc to get all that extra cash. :)

Here is what I scored at Gamecrazy in NY:

PSP - Bust a Move - $21 (paid $10)
Wii - Big Brain Academy - $34.50 (paid $27)
Wii - Far Cry Vengeance - $9.83 (paid $18)
X360 - DOA Extrem 2 - $37.50 (paid $25)

Total w/ extra 50% = $102

Picked up Surf's Up and reserved The Bigs, both for PS3

Traded in:

Crackdown - $17 (with 50% tacked on)
Super Mario 64 DS - $18 (with 50% tacked on)

Surprised that SM64 got so much. Was only able to trade in two games for one released game, so I picked up DiRT
So what's the cheapest new game I can buy so I don't put that big of a dent in my credit?
Outrun for the PSP 9.99 New. That's what I got.

I have the latest flyer (the one with the 50% deal in it) and the only trade-in values (all before any bonus) they have for the Wii are Cooking Mama ($22.73), Excite Truck ($25.43), Sonic ($25.43) and Downhill Jam ($25.43).

HOWEVER, there were 2 flyers in the store and the other says it is good through June 29th. That one does, indeed, show SMB for the Wii at a base value of $16.36. So if you trade that in just beware that it seems to be lower in the system but maybe you can get them to honor the ad (though I'm sure there's a "prices subject to change" clause somewhere - in fact it is right there in the fine print).
Outrun for the PSP 9.99 New. That's what I got.
Unfortunately I bought that a few weeks back for no good reason . Another $9.99 PSP game is Metal Gear Acid 2. And I think Exit may be that price as well. PSP seems to be the way to go - especially if your store is particularly evil and insists the game purchase be from the same systems as the trade-ins (thus no cheap PS2 or GC game, for example).
