DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

In the end I received $106 dollars worth of credit and threw it on a DS Lite. I payed about $102.08 after tax originally for the games I traded in, so I was pretty happy with the results. Playing games for a small profit is always nice.

Wow, VJ2 dropped a dollar from a couple weeks ago. If that qualified I may have traded it, but not for 50 cents. I'm enjoying Baldur's Gate or I'd dump that.

I think the last ones to figure out for me will be Lost Kingdoms 1 and 2, see if I should trade at GR or EB.
 
The first BB didn't really know about the $5 bonus, but we were able to find the relevant documentation. I could have argued the $7.99 PRP (pre-played price) vs. $7.99 trade-in price, but I decided not to press the issue. The second Blockbuster had ads up for the deal, so no problems there.

Unless your store is a franchise store, the 75% clearance is going on. There is no way of ordering online from Blockbuster.

For people who have been denied on games, is this done automatically or at the discretion of the employee?
 
Couldn't find a GameRush within 50 miles of Austin, but all they had at the Blockbuster on Cameron Rd and Hwy 290 was Gauntlet: Dark Legacy for GameCube for $5.00, some PS2 game for $5.00 (two games total, one copy of each). I think they had about 8 GameSharks for PS2 for $5.00, and a bunch of two-packs of PS2 controllers with Superman on them and grippy handles.

Slim pickings, so I didn't get anything, and of course the Blockbuster a block from my house isn't particpating.

I added a little more info on the trade-in deal and how it is actually rung up to the first post. I'm not sure if the computer is smart enough to reject the games on it's own. I didn't try to get the employee to apply it to a game that sold for less than $7.99 so it might be a YMMV type of thing on if you get the extra $5 on the cheaper games.

Thanks. I'm going to give them my Pokemon GBA video regardless (I think it trades for 40 cents), but if I can get them to ignore the whole 7.99 thing and ignore the whole "no GBA games" thing and get $5.40 for it instead, who am I to complain?

You may want to add the price for Goldeneye for the DS and Siren for the PS2 for 7.50

Fair warning, I just got off the phone w/ 18004MYXBOX and they're saying that these codes will NOT work with the 360, and they refuse to do anything. They wont add the time to my account. I'm pretty fuckin pissed off right now, hate throwing money down the shitter.

I just activated a code on my Xbox Live 360 account and it extended my account another 12 months.

Then I just got an email stating that it will not end until April 10, 2009.

I also bought a Mechassault kit for $35 ~2 months ago for my roomate to renew his and that worked fine too.

Yeah. I just got it to work myself. I had called them before I put it in because last time I extended, it deleted the time I had left instead of extending it. I wanted to call them and make sure it wouldn't happen again before I did anything.

These codes DO work, I just got a retarded jerk for a CS Rep.

So I just used the Gamerush deal to trade in alot of the clearance Kmart games I got, and I got an extra $5 per game.

Here's the breakdown:
At Kmart, I paid:
$3 - Athens 2004 (PS2)
$2 - Winnie the Pooh (GC)
$3 - Street Racing Syndicate (GC)
$2 - Spyro: Hero's Tail (Xbox)
$2 - Conflict: Vietnam (Xbox)
$2 - Shark Tale (Xbox)
$2 - Outrun 2 (Xbox)

Total for these games was $16 plus tax.

Now, at Gamerush they gave me (might wanna put these in the wiki):
$1.25 - Athens 2004 (PS2)
$6 - Winnie the Pooh (GC)

$2.50 - Spyro: Hero's Tail (Xbox)

Just got back from my GR, and picked up Rainbow Six: Black Arrow for Xbox and XenoSaga 2, for $5 each. I'm glad I didn't find Xeno 2 at the Circuit City sale. :D

There were quite a few SSX On Tour's left for XB, Shadow Ops: Red Mercury's, and Street Racing Syndicate's, all for Xbox. There was even a Metroid: Zero Mission for GBA, but I already have it. They had some Maddens and NCAAs, too, but I didn't look at the year because I wasn't interested at all.

By the way, Xenosaga 2 wasn't even in the clearance bin, I found it by the PS2 Greatest Hits rack, and had the girl price check it. It was $5. :D

Dumb question: Are these clearance prices the same for used copies of the game? Like is RE0 used $5 also? If it's on used games too, I've got another 3 games to pick up: Resident Evil 0, Fable, and Zoo Keeper.

The $5 rejection of cheap games isnt automatic. Stow tacked on $5 for all games, Cuyahoga said $7.50 or less didnt qualify.

I also saw another person at Stow inquiring about 75% off, figured it was a CAG - whoever had DK Jungle Beat.

I was thinking that, but the new copies of games won't be around long, and that's what they're aiming to clear out. Obviously that's not what they're hoping you do when you buy the new copies, but it's not a long-term concern.

Hey, let your friend know that both of the GRs in Blue Springs, MO have a Lite in stock as of an hour ago. It might be a bit of a drive, depending on where in Kansas City he lives (Hopefully the Missouri side), but it could be just several miles away.

Oy... Lost Kingdoms II gets $4 at EB, so I could have gotten $6.50+ there instead of $5.50; Bomberman gets $9 at EB, so I would have easily doubled my GR take. And now the CAG in me will be pissed the rest of the night that I missed out on $8. I'll probably try to get a Bomberman at TRU tomorrow for $5 after coupon to trade in to EB in its place so I end up getting my money "back". :roll:
