DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

Sweet, I didn't think my Blockbuster had the sale going on, I went in to switch out my games, and voila! Tons of stuff. I picked up Riddick and MGS3 for $5 each, nice deals. They have tons of MGS3's in stock

Dude, and I think I got shafted on the $5 bonus trade... I traded in Alien Homind ($6.25), The Bard's Tale ($2.50), and Killer7 ($5.50). Okay, so the CSR said that The Bard's Tale didn't qualify but she supposedly overrode Alien Hominid and Killer7 to receive the $5 bonus... yes, she was actually cool with that. BUT, that means that Alien Hominid trades in for $1.25 and Killer7 trades in for $0.50??? Doesn't make sense that The Bard's Tale trades in for $2.50 but doesn't qualify but the others trade in for LESS but DO qualify... hmm... I think I got shafted!!! Or, she really didn't give me the bonus on the other 2 games!!! :whistle2:k

Dude, on a lighter note, I picked up PSP Ridge Racer and GCN Metroid Prime Echoes on that GR run.

Dude, may Blockbuster/Gamerush live on til PS3 and Wii launch!!! :applause:

I traded in Exit for $18, as well. I was quoted $12.50 for Infected, so I'll just hold onto that, for a little longer if anyone here wants it.

I'm a bit of a sad panda, that the one Smart Bomb at one of the nearby stores finally sold. $15 was too much for a poorly rated game, but for $10 or less, I would have bitten, easily. Also, all the DK w/ bongo bundles seem to have disappeared, so no cheap extra drums for me.

BTW, I also traded in the Krypto the Superdog DVD for $8.50, so I essentially got a ticket to Superman Returns and an animation cel for just $1.50

It would be $5 after coupon at TRU. It was part of the green tag sale so is 9.99 now.

I was planning on getting $9 for it at EB, hence I wasn't expecting to get shit and/or trade it here, but I got myself all confused. Ah well.

I was stunned that at my GR they were actually repricing the 75% clearance games Monday (when that started), and actually had gigantic signage up for the $5 bonus deal today (what that started). They were on top of things for a change. They also got the restrictions correct this time (before they either confused 'sale' price with 'trade-in' price or neglected them all together).

The big question is: has anyone has been able to get the $5 bonus deal at a regular BB? I have some duplicates of the things I traded today and don't want to push it at GR if I can help it.
 
What are the games from GR that trade in for decent/equal credit to EB/GS? With the new Trade 3 get an extra $10 and minimum trade-in price of $1, I'm looking to switch my credit from GR over to GS/EB.

Checked out two BB today (no games 75% off) but one had signage regarding the $5 deal and the other (nearest me) didn't know about it, but I had him call one of the other stores and confirmed it....so dump your dupes at BB
 
Took a second trip to a couple Blockbusters and found some games I missed. All the games at all the BB/GR stores I've been to today had the games priced correctly and they seem to be selling very quickly now.

I saw plenty of 2004-2005 sport games in the $1.50 range, I forget titles. Passed on all of them.

Grabbed Midway Arcade Treasures (PS2) - $5.00
Timesplitters: Future Perfect (GC, PS2, XB) - $5.00

Tried to get a Mortal Kombat: Deception (XB) Kollector's Edition but it rang up $19.95 I thought some one mentioned this was $5...PS2 version maybe?

Also, I think it's weird that the Xbox version of Area 51 is $5 but the PS2 version is $20. I'd rather have it on PS2 as I'm getting rid of my Xbox soon, I think.

I saw Playboy Mansion (PS2, I think) marked with a new clearance tag for $10. Is that a price error? Are these actually ringing up for $5? I'd be more inclined to buy it for $5 instead of $10.

The list of stuff that I'd posted was prior trade-in prices (not prices to buy) that I thought might be good to move credit from EB to GR.

Speaking of trade-in prices, here's a nice one -- Mortal Kombat: Deception CE trades for a total of $11 at EB/GS! ($6 for the game, $5 for the bonus disc -- don't bother with the outer cover)

Maybe we need a DVD trade-in wiki for GR/BB. With dirt cheap prices on a lot of DVDs at Wal-Mart and Best Buy (usually about 25% of Blockbuster's prices), there might be some trade-in possibilities there.

The standard edition for Xbox was the one on clearance at the GR I went to today. Kollector's edition still appeared to be $20.

One crazy thing I saw on their "most wanted" trade value board was Free Willy DVD gets $6. One, $6 for Free Willy?! Two, Free Willy?! I know there was another anachronistic DVD up there, but it didn't stand out nearly as much.

Went to a few stores in KC today and picked up the following...all for ps2

So add that to Fifa 06 psp, Timesplitters, and SSX on Tour and you get 9 new games for about $40...just under I think. I like it. Also picked up more clearance screen cleaner.

By the way, does anyone have those 'ear-subs' headphones that are at $4.25? Thinking of grabbing some for my psp, but didn't know about the quality. Thanks for any info..

No, I can confirm that the Xbox version isn't on sale. I thought it might be because some one mentioned earlier that the PS2 version was on sale. No luck. It's one of those weird GR/BB things, like the fact that Area 51 for Xbox is $5 and Area 51 for PS2 is $20.

Only thing I could guess is that it was marked wrong? I saw a few games marked incorrectly today on the clearance table, but nothing I wanted. I saw a couple games I know are $5 that were marked incorrectly at $2.50.

Oh, I saw a new copy of Suikoden IV marked down to $15...not a clearance...just a markdown...not sure if that's already been reported or not.

Heh I've seen Live and let die (as in 1973) on the DVD wanted board. Granted, it is out of print like all the other Bond DVDs, but I don't know why they'd be looking for it (unless someone rented and kept the store copy). ANYWAY...traded in some of the usual suspects, prices include the $5 bonus :

MAT 3 (PS2) still rings up at full price ($14.99) in GA. It wasn't on the clearance table.

Is this game only being clearanced in certain areas?
 
When I traded in the games for the $5 bonus today they did not worry about whether or not the game sold for $7.99 or higher. Since they do a manual adjustment the computer will not stop them from adding $5 to a game below the qualifying amount. Now some employees may notice the used game price and refuse the $5, but come on its GR so that won't happen much.

Now the interesting part is the computer will refuse the $5 adjustment on some games. For instance I had PS2 LOTR Two Towers and it sells for $9.99 used. The computer would not allow the manager to add $5 bonus because the trade in price was $5. Basically the computer will not allow them to add $5 bonus to a game where the trade in price would be higher then the used game price. Therefore I could not get the $5 bonus on two towers or XIII (retails $4.99). I kept XIII since they only were paying $.25 and the bonus would not work.

Yeah, I got a couple that were marked wrong yesterday. The manager pulled off the "wrong" tags, said "she tagged them wrong", and sold them to me for the correct price :D. Oh well... And today I think the MP2's were marked $4.25, but they rang up $5. No big deal really, especially after I got over $100 in credit from trading in 8 cheap games.

Kjuaburn - it has been that way for a long time (not allowed to adjust over the used sale price). This came up for me a few times a year ago during the last $5 bonus deal. At least they manage to do ONE thing right (in their own best interest that is).

Dino - TWENTY-NINE for Flatout?? Good lord, I wish there were more at my CC's (I found ONE copy amonst 4 CC's early last week). Funny thing is my GR has a flier up front pushing the preorder of Flatout 2 "Coming Soon". You'd think they would have caught on to the imminent decrease in sale value of the first one.
 
My GRs all see dead. I have seen the same box of trade-ins unprocessed for the past 2 months. WTF. Are they trying to kill it? Or is restocking the shelves of 'Failure to Launch' more important?
