Sales Rumors/Upcoming Deals

No current sales rumors or upcoming deals at this time. Every sale that was listed here has now been confirmed as being active.

Current Sales Deals

All Playstation 1 games $2 (both used & new)

GR is clearing out their stock of Playstation one games for $2 a piece. Get them while they last.

DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.

$5 Extra= SCAM?????

I went to BB today with a load of games....12 exact but according to the clerk only 3 were eligable. Those 3 were EXit- $18, Moto GP 2- $7 and Haunting Ground- $19

He said that the games must have a trade in value of $6.99 or greater to get the extra $5. I said it it has to sell for $6.99 or greater he said NO NO....its not like that I refuse to give you an extra $5 for these games that only trade in for $2-3. He said he got that information for corporate. I said give me the manager he said the manager is on vacation.

Is this true? This guy was a huge dick.....

Vacation doesnt matter dont leave till you get a number to call .

OK, I tried calling my GR to get come price quotes but I got the new guy who doesn't know how to do anything and he said I had to bring them in so he could "get the number" and "check the disc".

Could someone check on the following:

NDS - DragonBall Z SuperSonic Warriors 2
NDS - FIFA Soccer '06
PS2 - Backyard Football 2006

I would greatly appreciate it. I'd call a regular BB but they are usually pretty inept at looking up DS prices, if they will do it at all.

Here's some new trades for CAGWiki(all are qualified for the trade deal, all BEFORE bonus):

Deathrow(xbox)- $2.50
SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos(xbox)- $12
Knights of the Old Republic 1(xbox)- $7 (you can grab this for $5 at GS/EB!!)

also was quoted:

Shadow Hearts: New World(ps2)- $17 (I'm pretty sure it was $17 but it MIGHT have been $19)

On a side not some bitch at a local Gamerush put a hold on my account even though I had never traded the same game twice at her store. She got mad at me previously for returning a new game(Phantom Dust) to her store, not sure exactly why.
Then the other day when I traded in a few games for the deal(Flatout, Driver:pL, and Combat Paratroopers nor whatever it was called) she got totally pissed when she saw how much trade credit I got with bonus, and got even more pissed when she saw the stack of clearance games I was buying with it.
She warned me:

"these sales are final, you can't return these"
I said this was fine, bought my games and left.

Then today when I tried trading in a few games at a BB I had never been to before, the guy there said that someone had put a hold on my account. Fortunately he was cool and traded the games for me anyways.

I am simply AMAZED that I more than follow the trading rules and get in trouble, while some people here are able to trade multiple copies of the same game with zero trouble.... WTF??

some trade in prices, all before $5 bonus:
(PS2)Rune: Viking Warlord - $2.50
(XBOX)Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows - $12
(GC)Robotech: Battlecry - $1
(XBOX)Far Cry Instincts - $6
(XBOX)Castlevania: COD - $12
(XBOX)Battleborne's Combat Elite - $16

all were eligible for $5 bonus.

You know im having similar trouble from last year when I was doing alot of trading one time they noticed that I bought a game from the store and traded it back in on a deal I DID THIS 2 TIMES the second time is when they warned me to stop so I did but that didnt stop them from putting a fucked up comment on my account. So over the past year every time I trade into a dif gamerush that comment pops up and they treat me like im a thief everywhere I go ive even had convos with a few nice employees who wanted to help me take the comment off but claimed they coudlnt. Does this ever go away???

the funny thing for me is that I didn't try to trade back in the game or "flip" it. I bought it for $10 from the clearance section and was trying to return it to get my $10 back. I even said that I was happy getting $10 store credit, and that I simply wanted to grab something else.

I think I had returned a game one other time at that store a while back, but it was under similar circumstances. A new game that I found a better deal on elsewhere, so I just wanted to get something different. I could understand them getting angry if I did this a lot but that simply is not the case.

Anyways I don't think I'd try to trade with them much again, Gamerush will die sooner than later I'm sure(at least the ones in my area) so I'm not too worried.
And MK Deception rang up $19.99 at a second Blockbuster, correct barcode scanned. Has anyone else gotten this game for $5 today? I can't imagine it being taken off clearance, but who knows. Both annoying and amusing since I just bought the Premium Edition at the first store yesterday for the expected $5.

Unfortunately because BB is so half-assed organizationally (good for us usually), they won't let me return it at the store since I didn't buy it there. So I guess I will be heading back down to Macedonia to try to return it there sometime in the next few days.
Deadly Alliance is $5 , not Deception.
Could someone check on the following:

PS2 - Backyard Football 2006
Let me know if you find the price for this one, io...I too picked it up at CC for some reason!

More trade-in prices, before $5 bonus:

PS2
- Crimson Sea 2 $12 (not on wiki)
- Hulk: UD $7 (up $1?)
- Musashi Samurai Legend $7 (not on wiki)
- Ninja Assault $4.25 (not on wiki)
- Shadow of Destiny $4.25 (not on wiki)
- SWAT $6 (not on wiki)
- Way of the Samurai $6 (not on wiki)

Note 1: Noticed a possible exploit. GR sells Da Vinci Code for $20, but their trade-in price (listed on the 'most wanted' board) was $22 at GR today. With bonus that would be $27, if they allowed the trade to happen. Not sure if this would work or not, but I thought it was interesting at least.

Note 2: The GR clerk said they couldn't take Phantom Brave at all. They said something about never carrying it, or it not being in their system. Has anyone else ever got this response?

I'm pretty sure I bought Phantom Brave used at GR, but that was at least a year ago.

I'll be at Macedonia monday, I'll try and see wassup.

On a more awesome note, a local Gamecrazy finally relented and will now match these insane trade-in prices.

They actually rented that game at Blockbuster and it's available used at just about every GR around here. I think they are all just their old rental copies, but that's strange that he stated that it isn't in their system.

I wouldnt put it past GR. Back during the huge Toys R Us sales, Gamerush paid $22 for Killzone even though they sold it used for $12.99.

With all the news about trade troubles, i think i need to wait until i find out when my friend (the only actual "Gamerush" employee left) is working, he never cares what i trade in. Also another local Blockbuster here just started putting up signs for "trade it in here". No idea if its just dvds or games too, ill have to find out when i go tomorrow night.

I cant seem to find the box for my Animal Crossing DS, i know they wont take dvd/cd games without cases, but does anyone know about DS games?

Trade In:
Call of Duty 2 (360) - $35

(Xbox)

187 Ride or Die - $6
Ghost Recon 2 - $6
THUG 2 - $1.25
Super Monkey Ball DX - $1
Blitz the League - $6
Chicken Littlle - $19 (CC GAME!!)

All before $5 bonus

IO I got tired of waiting for you to come pick up my games and I had to go myself. I am only a few thousand miles away...

Here are a bunch of trade in prices. Prices before $5 bonus. All received the bonus.

PS2 - Total Overdose $12
PS2 - Jak II $2.5
PS2 - Syphon Filter Omega $2
PS2 - Lemony Snicket $6
PS2 - Duel Masters $.50
NGC - Army Men: RTS $2.5
NGC - Prince of Persia Warrior Within $6
NGC - SRS $1
NDS - Ping Pals $.50
GBA - Pitfall: Lost Expedition $8

Biggest surprise was Pitfall GBA received $13 with the bonus. It came bundled with GBA-LOZ for $8.96 at CC. Kept Zelda dumped Pitfall, not a bad idea for anyone who still sees the bundle at CC...
I opted not to buy anything knowing I would never play any of those if I bought them. I considered hiding the copy of Unreal Championship 2 so aolat could go pick it up but then I remembered he called me a dick the other day. Plus he's not old enough to play M rated games anyway.
Wow, now you really are a dick. I called you a dick because you said only losers play Xenosaga 2. I'm not a loser!

Has anyone had trouble trading in games lower the 7.99...I had Mega Man X Command Mission & they only gave me $2.50 & wouldn't give me the $5 bonus for it...Any tips? or just goto a different BB?

Wow... here I was planning on eBaying the Pitfall for $8 or so... $13 credit is even better and easier.

I haven't had any problems trading in GBA games. I know the fine print lists every system except for GBA. The entire trade in deal is a manual adjustment so the system won't stop the employee. There might be some employees who actually read the fine print (HAHAHA this is GR we are talking about). Really why would the CSR think to handle a single system differently when the bonus lists every other system they buyback games for.

All crap. I just assumed from the post being on the 5th of this month, that everything would have been gone. It seems like I always find out about these things too late, and count that I don't have a ride of my own I'm always stuck with the feeling of missing out on killer stuff. :(

Maybe I'll get lucky anyway and score a few things I actually want. :\

PS: Thanks for the heads up on when the sale started.

Interesting thing is apparently the GameRush is under ten miles from me, yet it always seems much further then that. :\

Blockbusters ARE doing it...it's very YMMV though. I've called 8 stores. Two said they were doing it, 4 said they didn't know about it and 2 said they weren't participating. I went to one of the stores that didn't know, and even though they couldn't figure out the code, I showed them the print out from Gamerush's website that says BB at the bottom, and they manually added the credit.
Trade In:

Chicken Littlle - $19 (CC GAME!!)

All before $5 bonus
Damn, I pretty much ignored that game when I was at CC. I'll have to stop by again and see if there's any left! (Can't imagine its been flying off the shelves, even at 8.96!)
Damn you, then YOU have to come pick up MY games, because at my GR they went through the restictions with a fine toothed comb and expressly forbade GBA games (after I snuck a few in the first day when I didn't even know they weren't included). The *only* good thing about their adherence to the restrictions is they got the $7.99 SALE value minimum down and don't try to pull that $7.99 TRADE value crap some people have seen :D.

Didn't someone say KOTR fetched $7 before bonus? I picked one up at EB tonight for $4.19 after Edge discount. It is a special sale until July 4th (normally $7.99). This particular store had 6, and I tried to buy 2, but the guy pulled the "limit 1 per customer" on me. Asswipe... Like those are all going to sell by Tuesday. Oh well, I got back at him by buying a Powerdrome for $1.49 ($1.34 after Edge) that I think was one I traded in there earlier. It will go back to another EB :D. I never did that kind of flipping at GR, but I have no qualms doing it at EB as they more often take advantage of their customers (as opposed to bumbling BB).

At EB tonight I took the MK Premium disc, a free Duel Masters from Best Buy, and a Devil May Cry 2 ($5 from GR) and got $22 in credit which I used on their last sealed copy of Lego Star Wars. Basically got it for $7.50 in GR credit then - pretty nice. Even if GR had it I wouldn't get that kind of deal.

FWIW, Devil May Cry 2 is the one clearance title I have seen at multiple regular BB locations. There's 2 at one store I know of. I should have bought them when I had the chance as they hadn't marked anything 75% yet (still marked 50%). I'm definitely going to get them next time I'm in that area. The base trade-in at EB is $4, and with just the 2 bonuses (no preorder bonus this time) I got $8.06 for it.

Tonight I tried a third regular BB and they had never heard of any $5 bonus, and wouldn't look it up for me. They did give me the following trade quotes, though it was quite an ordeal as they insisted they didn't take DS games

DragonBall Z SuperSonic Warriors 2: $10 (meh, if anyone wants this let me know)
FIFA '06: $4.50 (crap)
PS2 Backyard Football 2006: $12 (OK, so I can trade this at GR and not return it, good!)

Stopped by my nearby GameRush/Blockbuster today...

The clearance items were clearly marked with a red sticker and a large stick with the clearance price on it. Some of the games were even seperated into a specific section with a gigantic clearance sign above it.

Picked up...

Killer 7 (GCN) - $3.75
GoldenEye Rogue Agent (GCN) $5.00
LotR: The Return of the King (GCN) - $4.25
GoldenEye Rogue Agent (DS) $7.50

This has been a very good weekend... thanks op.

Did you go to the Waipahu GR? Sounds like it because that's where I work and your description sounds familiar. If so, let me know who you are. I pretty much know all the gamers that come by. Did you go in tonight? I was working in the morning.

Woot, got a nice score from Circuit City:

Combat Elite (2x PS2 & XBX)
Flatout (1 PS2, 2x XBX)
Driver Parallel Lines (2x PS2 & XBX)
Castlevania (1x PS2 & XBX)
Nightmare Before Christmas (1x PS2)
Marc Ecko's Getting up (2x PS2)
Chicken Litte (2x XBX)
Fight Night Round 2 (GC)

I'll be going to a couple of Gamerushes later tonight to drop these and some of my personal collection that i no longer play. The only price i've confirmed for today is the XBX version of Flatout, which is $24.

I found a way to double your GR credit from EB to GR.

Perfecr Dark Zero is on sale this week at EB/GS for $19.99 used. If you have the Buy 2 Get 1 Free coupons you can buy 3 copies of PD0 for $36 after discount card. Each copy fetches $25 + $5 Bonus at GR. Thats $90 in Store Credit for $36 cash! Its like getting a free 360 game. Now, thats if you're EB/GS has 3 copies in, and if they let you buy all 3....

In case that math looks fuzzy to anyone else, don't forget the 10% discount w/ the EB/GS card. 2 x $20 = $40. And 10% of $40 is $4. $40 - $4 = $36.

I mentioned the dscount card. I should have put the 10% in though.

But $36 EB = $90 at GR. Now if you can flip that GR credit back to EB...total chaos!

I did pretty good on the clearance sale.
Castlevania GBA - $2.50
Metroid Echos - $5
Timesplitters Future Perfect - $5
Psi Ops - $5
Madden 06 DS- $7.50
Goldeneye DS - $7.50

After this and the CC sale I better lay off for a bit or she's gonna divorce me.

How's Madden 06 on the DS? I've been on the fence about that one.
GBA games also qualify for the extra $5 bonus? wow, this is awesome.
They're not suppose to. It doesn't mention GBA games in the fine print as qualifying games (DS, PSP, PS2, XB, XB360 are the games listed in all the fine print on the signs I've seen).

Yeah, I had already debated doing that. Though I was considering getting King Kong or THAW as the free game for myself. Though with an extra $30 in GR credit instead, I could eventually flip that back for a lot more than my free game cost. Though I would need some additional games to trade in to get the bonus, since I doubt they'd let me trade 3 at once.

I just traded in about 40 DVDs...got between $2-$5 each! I was surpirsied! Time to unload a ton more! I had so many old crappy ones.

But doesn't BB/GR limit you to trading in 2 of any title at one time?
Of course, I guess that means just trade it in at different times, or trade in at different locations.... ;)

Ah yes, finally got off my ass and grabbed the receipt from Friday:
Only things I didn't see on the Wiki (though my memory and sight are hazy :p) were Crimson Tears, which got $12 before bonus, and Ys: Ark of Napishtim (PSP) for $12.50 before bonus.

Today I traded in some more:
Driver: PL (PS2) x2 = $16 a pop before bonus.
Getting Up (PS2) = $16 - was denied $5 bonus since computer says they are selling it $14.99.
Katamari Damacy = $7
007 EoN = $0.75

That's it, really.

I think you can try your luck on this one. You may need to find a nice EB/GS cashier. I tried to buy 2 of PDZs and one other game. The guy told me the $19.99 sale cannot be combined with the buy 2 get 1 free coupon.
