Current Sales Deals

All Playstation 1 games $2 (both used & new)

GR is clearing out their stock of Playstation one games for $2 a piece. Get them while they last.

DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.
I had no problems trading Driver: PL (PS2), but ME: Getting Up is fetching $16 still, but they won't give the extra $5 since they are selling it for $14.99. Go figure.
Who told you that when I traded in my Driver PL and ME: Getting Up I was able to get the extra 5 bucks on both of them.
Just traded in another stack of DVDs...nabbed another $80. Most were $3-6, while 2 were $6 and $7.50! They really are the BEST place to dump DVDs!

Also nabbed a new copy of Silent Hill 4...finally. Now all I need is Leisure Suit Larry.
XB or PS2?
Regular BB stores hav very little in regards to this sale. I checked out three BB only stores and found 2 clearence games total. Not marked, of course.
Wow, I guess it's not even worth going then. Thanks for the info though. I really appreciate it.:) I wish we had a GR here. I doubt they're ever coming here though, because I didn't even know about the store until reccently.
XB. Not for sale though, need to play it first.
I think he might be referring to the LSL you were looking for.

OH! Yeah, well I'm looking for LSL for the Xbox. All mine are sold out. Its the toughest game to find so far. Hell I even found a few Phoenix Wrights! (Gladly trade for a 1 Gig PSP card)
I think you can try your luck on this one. You may need to find a nice EB/GS cashier. I tried to buy 2 of PDZs and one other game. The guy told me the $19.99 sale cannot be combined with the buy 2 get 1 free coupon.
The manager at the EB next to my work did it for me today. There is nothing in the ad that says that it cannot me combined, she also check the ad to see if it was limit 1 per customer for PD0. So I guess this is YMMV. I had no problem picking up 3.

Yeah, the guy yesterday pulled that one out of his *ss (limit 1 per customer on used KOTOR). I will laugh when I go back in there next week and see the other 5 copies still there (and I only wanted 2). I thought maybe it popped up on the computer when he rang it up - but if that didn't happen with PD0, then it sure didn't happen with KOTOR.

The manager at my EB is a cool chick. She looked at the ad really quick to double check the limit but there was none and it said nothing about stacking discounts, so I used my buy 2 get 1 free coupon.

You probably should have just pointed at the ad and said there is no limit and if they give you a harder time I'd just ask for a manager. Hopefully they won't try and BS you as well.

Is it possible to have different GR to give different trade in prices for games? I took Path of Neo to one GR and I was given $12 + $5, which is the normal trade in price for the week. Then I took another copy of Path of Neo to a different GR and they gave me $24 (before the $5 bonus) for it! They said they couldnt give me the extra $5 because the game sells for $24.99.

Did they look it up by name instead of scanning it? I think there was an LE version of Path of Neo in the GR system (there never was one in reality). It could be that they looked that up - a mistake in your favor!

They did scan the games at each GR. They even showed me the screen at the 2nd GR and I saw it on the screen: Matrix: Path of Neo, $24.99, $24.00. The blockbuster guy even pointed to me saying they can't add $5 to the game (I didn't even haggle for it, they just told me ahead of time).

Oh btw, Wild Arms 4 gets $6 before bonus.

Hmm, well then, I'm stumped. In the past we've heard of certain GR stores giving, generally, LESS credit for certain games (like ones they've gotten too many of). But it was very rare, and it is highly unlikely a store would choose to give alot MORE credit, especially on a game like that. Maybe it mis-scanned as the LE by chance? That's all I can think of :D.

Anyway, I certainly wouldn't have haggled either - just acted mildly disappointed and said "I guess that's OK" (to not getting the bonus). Then do a "whoo-hoo" in the parking lot :D.

I still have one more Neo. I will probably either return it or just keep it. There are so many trade-in possibilities now that I don't need to push any particular game too much!

It's weird how today I traded in both GR, and both times the employee would talk to me about the games I'm trading. Like... do I like the ending to Path of Neo, or how's the battle system in Wild Arms 4. Honestly, I've never played those games in my life, which is why I didn't even know what to say other than 'oh I didn't finish Matrix' or 'naw I think the battle system is too confusing'. I just want my store credit!

Yes, I've become quite good at that. When asked about Driver PL: "Well, it's better than the last one, but that's not saying much". :D Totally true - just based on reviews I read, not my experience. I tend to get that more at EB than at GR though, for obvious reasons (all EB employees tend to be gamers, only 2 out of the 6-8 regular BB/GR employees are).

 With the number of times I've traded in Getting Up, my "reviews" have probably scared off all the employees from even opening it.

It's true, it was one of my trade-ins yesterday.

EDIT: whoops, I see what you mean now.
It's true, it was one of my trade-ins yesterday.

Hehe, thats one of the 9 games my GR actually has for 75% off.

I just traded in a batch of my personal collection (titles not applicable for $5 bonus marked with asterisk):

XBX:
Phantom Dust - $1
Yu-gi-Oh Dawn of Destiny - $1
Soul Calibur 2 - $1
Conker Live & Reloaded - $6
Unreal Championship 2 - $1
Halo 2 - $9.50
Driver: Parallel Lines - $16*

GC:
Warioware - $1

360:
Kameo $25*

PS2:
Mark Ecko Getting Up - $16*

So yea, after yesterday's Perfect Dark Zero trade, i dont think the location likes 360 games for the $5 bonus, the manager said it was their computers that wouldnt let them add it.

I tried to also trade Barbarian & MGS 2 for PS2, but he said the trade in value was more than what they sell it for so he couldnt take em at all. About 5 other games were too scratched up for them to take. Theyre mostly little scratches (none that i can feel from the surface), anyone know if Hollywood's disc resurfacing would help these any?
Yeah, it's right. Driv3r gets $16. But can you get it for cheap anywhere?
$5 at Gamerush. I would advise against buying it and then trading it in during the same shift. Wait til they do a shift change (or the person who sold it to you isnt there) and sell it.
75% off at Gamerush.
 Strange since most of the other clearance games dropped to a $1 trade-in.

Just wanted to say that I'm extremely happy. I used the "trade 3, get $10 extra" at EB to trade all of my GR credit over. With that and the trading I did with the CC deals, I now have $1100 in EB credit.

It was relatively common for me to make 5 to 6 times what I spent in cash by tripling my money at GR and then doubling that at EB. Still don't want PS3, though.

These deals kick all kinds of ass, especially if you live in Dallas, where both GR and GS/EB are based, as there is one on every corner. CC's aren't hard to come by either.

Anyway, I've been trading off of this site for two years now, and I absolutely love it. Thank you, CheapyD and CAG!

On topic, is anyone else finding Spartan:Total Warrior and MK:Deception to be extremely inconsistent with regard to sale prices? I tried Xbox and PS2 versions of both at the counters of my GRs, and was denied the $5 price every time (even for the Kollector's Edition).

I just got the PS2 Kollector's edition ( Subzero one) at GR yesterday. Pretty good deal for $5. It was marked 19.99 ( no blue dot ). Also, the 2 GR that I went to had sent all their stock other stores. Which sucked because there were some titles that I wanted to pick up. oh well.

I reported before that after buying the Premium Edition one day last week for $5, the regular edition rang up for $20 a few days later. I will be returning that today. My guess is its no longer on clearance for some reason.

Does GR still get in new DS games? Brain Age and Big Brain Academy have suddenly caught my attention, and $20 GR credit is great to get those games.

Also, I'm thinking about preordering Prey, but does anyone know what comes in the Limited Collector's Edition?

So whats the accepted method to trade in multiple copies of a game? I'm pretty sure I saw both Chicken Little and Total Overdose at my local CC. The only snafu is that we only have one GR store around here.

You can trade in two of the same game in one transaction....don't know if that applies to multiple games in one transaction or not....I'm sure they'll give you the evil eye if you try that, though. :p

Other than that, you could just try different stores, or trade one set in one day, then another the next. But I haven't really tried that method, so I'm just giving a guess here.

My area sold out of the MK: Deception Preimum Edition before I got to it. Could some fine CAG folk pick one up for me, please?

So is there any truth behind the GR closing down stories? I have about 800 in credit that I was going to use for a PS3...and if they go out of business, I'm going to be stuck with that. I only have BB's out here, but when I go back to school I have a GR right by me. Any easy way to convert this into some other form of credit? My BB's basically have nothing...so any help would be appreciated. Also, what about Gamestop/EB's trade-ins for DVD's? Do they give you the extra $10 with that too? If there's even anything remotely true about these rumors, I want to get my credit changed over to EB/GS ASAP.
Does anyone traded in Trace Memory recently? The price on Wikipedia is from April.
Sell it on Ebay....it's going for 3-4 times what Gamerush will give you.

I'm sure there is SOME truth...however, GameRush will not just disappear overnight...they will announce it I'm sure and then you may have to use your credit for less than stellar items.

Less than stellar items? Don't forget you can buy DVDs too. I've quadrupled my DVD box set collection through GR.
By chance was one of the stores a franchise. I have seen trade in prices be different at franchises. I don't know if any GR are franchised though...

I was talking about Blockbuster...I only have a Blockbuster by me, so there are no clearance games. Any suggestions on what used titles or do you think Gamerush will last past the Wii/PS3 launch?
