DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

Sale/clearance....whatever. Just as long as I get the games that I want. Plus, some BB/GR has these games under a "sale" sign while most have them under "clearance" signs. Heck, I have seen some "clearance sale" signs.

The real reason why people don't get a clue is that they do not read the OP carefully.

The trade board at my location said $120, so you're better off with EB/Gamestop credit (get yourself a pretty much free Edge/More card while youre at it)

Just when I thought everyone understood the $5 bonus deal, I got an employee who tried to tell me that the bonus only applied to "every game after the third one". This was a store that had a large (3 ft X 3 ft) sign in plain view that specifically states "Trade 3 or more games and get an extra $5 per game". He had to call someone, and then acted like I was getting some kind of special treatment by getting the $5.
(Somehow I knew I'd have trouble when I saw the guy didn't even open the cases to make sure the discs were in there!)

Argh! I bought a copy of Castlevania for PS2 instead of this, because I just figured that it would have dropped. I could've gotten an extra $4 if I got a Driver from my CC! :bomb: At least there are still a lot of clearance games that get good credit left at my CC, including 4-6 copies of Driver: PL for PS2. :D

Those and the Death Jr. and Total Overdose news make me happy! :D

They will be 75% off, period; the price in the computer system is the only thing that counts. Most Gamerushes are too lazy and/or inept to actually mark them down.

Make sure you print out the list from the first post in this thread. I'm still finding clearance games in the racks of full-price games. Also, be sure to check the glass cases.

Maybe, maybe not. When you're dealing with lowball games like this one ($1.25 according to the wiki), its YMMV on if the employee allows it or not.

Mine had 1 game left...but I couldnt find it anywhere in the store. Tons of used PSX...if you like Madden 1998. Im gonna check a few new GRs tomorrow...looking to find a Castlevania SOTN. Alot of BB's had this in-stock at one time.

Went to another regular BB kind of far from where I live, and they said they are also "no longer" running the $5 bonus deal. It was almost as if they started it, and then stopped, unless by "no longer" she was referring to the one last year, but I doubt it.

Anyway, this BB also had some clearance games. I'm spotting a trend in what you can find at regular BB's. They obviously were all stocked with the same small set of new games - all about 2-3 years old.

I have seen the following at 2-3 BB's:

Xbox Test Drive
Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance (I think Xbox, but maybe PS2 also)
PS2 Devil May Cry 2
PS2 Fight Night 2004
PS2 Midnight Club Street Racing

All but Fight Night are good for EB trading - but in particular the DMC 2's. They fetch $4 before bonus, and I got $8.87 for my last one with all bonuses.

It is kind of fun to pop into these BB's and peruse their thoroughly ignored new game sections. I have found ones that have 50% off sections but almost always they have other, overlooked, clearance games in the regular section too - so they will never be bought unless someone knows they are really 75% off. For whatver reason, they haven't gotten around to advertizing the 75% at these regular stores.
 
The GR I went to today received a new DS Lite, so if you are still looking for one it looks as though GR is restocking. Might want to check your store this week.

I think I'm going to start trading towards a DS Lite after I buy Prey: CE from GR... I have a normal silver DS to trade in, I'm going to check the Wiki to see how much it gets. I hope my GR still has one in.

Edit: Hmm.. $60 for my old DS, eh? I'll have to build up another $70 in credit and then I'll be able to trade in my old DS for a Lite. They're just too cool to resist, but I kind of want to wait for a black Lite around Christmas. Hmm..
 
Went to a few GRs this weekend and all of them were participating in the extra $5 deal. Hopefully I can track down a DS Lite soon since they're restocking.
Can anyone confirm that Driver 3 for PS2 still gets $16? Does Aeon Flux for PS2 still get $24 or did both versions drop?
 
I asked how much a DS got for trade the other day at a gamerush, and I was told they don't take systems for trade in (not sure if he meant just the DS or all systems). Did Gamerush stop taking systems for trade?

Only certain Gamerushes do. It depends on the local city laws, etc.
 
THAW: CE for PS2 gets $12 before bonus

Thanks for all the tips on valuable games, folks. I traded in Flatout, Driver PL, and Nightmare/Christmas for a beautiful $74 of store credit on Monday. :D

I decided to hold onto the THAW: CE at that price.

2005 games ARE included, you shouldn't have a problem. The tradein value has nothing to do with anything...it is the current used price that matters. I traded in all my 2005 games and got an avg of 1.25+5 for them.

Maybe its a SoCal thing. Mine doesnt take them either. I dont really like the white one but after seen it in action, I love how much brighter and colorful the screen is. I'm still going to wait for an LE edition later on though.

I picked up 2 batteries for the psp, just 8.75 each, and a great high quality speaker set for $7, that cost 30 bucks normally
